Panda Bear - Tomboy Lyrics
Take my life
What's my life like?
What's my work like?
How do I pass time?
So I'll be with mine
No matter what it takes
Take my life so high
Keep my life light

cum pie
I didn't like this album at first, but now 2/3 of the way through it; I'm really loving it!
It's fucking GREAT!
DAAAAMMMNNN the fadeout at 7:30.
underrated album
Probably best record of all time...
북한 최고미녀가수 송영에게 들려주고싶은 음악^^ 노아 최고!
Blessed be the music that ages with time and keeps getting better and better, lets keep it rolling
I want to do a project where I cover each of these songs on classical six-string, but I have no idea what the lyrics are 90% of the time. Did the physical release have the lyrics printed?
Say what!
A Melterpiece.
that's why I love them!🌊
I started listing to this on Molly, and now I can understand it way better. but yet panda is a different kind of lax music down fuse
I love this abstract art form of music.
En boucle!
sounds too much like other stuff he's done. when...
I dislike most of animal collective and I always thought "man if they just did this and this I'd like it" and panda bear did that for me so that's awesome
One of Panda Bear's best moments is the riffing outro of #2 Tomboy.
Meh. Looks like Person Pitch was a fluke
You can totally hear his Brian Wilson influence.
...and no hangover.
This music removes me from the exhausting mindset of self preservation and allows me to reconnect with my world.
Beach Boys on Valium.
cool san diego tunes - https://soundcloud.com/christianlindfors
I like the hip-hop influence
Love the fucking surf punk! PAndabeaar!
last night at the jetty changed my life
Sometimes when I'm out of weed, I grind up a Panda Bear CD and smoke it.
SNORT IT
You can definitely hear the daft punk influence on this
Post rock Surf punk?
I named my son after Noah Lennox. His mother liked it because of the Notebook. Whatever.
im planning on doing the same thing. lol
I picture myself on a beach with grey skies listening to this album.
i want to be Noah Lennox when i grow up
maogi you can do it, man!
maogi He sings with his heart. He is an authentic artist imo
do it in slow motion
last night at the jetty is perfect.
And afterburner
thanks.
the beach boys, high on belladonna
sun araw's ancient romans brought me here.
No you can't count on me
No you can't count on me
No you can't count on me
Thought those were the lyrics for the longest time when i first listened to the song.
the lyrics are SO misleading in an incredible great way. EVERYONE signs along to this.
I love all the mixed reactions to this album. It's literally one of my favorites of all time <3
You Can Count On Me"
Know you can count on me
Know you can count on me
Know you can count on me
To get so up for it
Know you can count on me
I'll be so up for it
Know at least I'll try
Who are you if you're not up for it
Where are you if I'm not up for it
Want to put a bubble round you
Like a force field switch
Keep you secure just a little bit
But I know a secret child is just a silly trick
Who grows up to lose that force field switch
In between a hands on and a hands off apprenticeship
Where are you if I'm not up for it
I'll wake up for it
Know you can count on me
Know you can count on me
Know you can count on me
To get so up for it
Know you can count on me
I'll be so up for it
Know at least I'll try
favorite album
This is the Beach Boys on the best shrooms ever. It's two parts shrooms, one part cocaine and two 12 oz bottles of Amstel light. AMIRIGHT?
nostalgic
Can someone tell me what the hell is going on? I'm from the 80's.
+Jerry Watkins Step 1: Listen
Step 2: Turn it up or turn it off depending on how you feel about Step 1
Step 3: ???
Step 4: PROFIT
PS. 35 years old, born in 1980, still listening to and loving Panda Bear and AC.
+seign Fuck Yeah!
+Jerry Watkins New-psychadelic
+Jerry Watkins uhhhh damn such a small amount to take from infinite
to get back to the future?
great, but no where near as good as person pitch
this is it!
the atmosphere that is created by Panda Bear's vocals is just unbelievable, they possess a hypnotically engaging quality, I always thought of Noah Lennox as a modern Brian Wilson
Person Pitch is an unbelievable album, it is overlooked, the samples are one thing but his vocal melodies on that album are fantastic
me aswell
Halle luyeah idk about exactly funny, but ya know more like playful and innocent , like feeling like a child, and he pulled it off pretty well
hippiecheezburger nice response! -- there's like a natural Brian Eno thing going on here too!
You can totally hear his Brian Wilson influence.
Person Pitch+Tomboy+Panda Bear vs Grim Reaper= such an excellent song-cycle/long album. The trilogy is magnificent
😭holy shit I so gotta try that!
ended with the short, wattery boiled, "Buoys", available now everywhere
Very nice music. Very dreamy type, great for this cloudy day.
Hall0 yea guyz girls yes it is me here and I have this EP i just am put it out recently and yes if u like this you will also love this EP i have em putting out guarnted free or u money bak
There's just something Friendship Bracelet has going on that has got me listening to it non stop.
It's just so goddamn heavenly.
illuminati
@Aarone Blyston ok
Floats my boat up to heaven.
like music played in a mailbox at the bottom of a lake. i love it!
+will crow I laughed way too hard at this comment. It's very accurate haha
Knowing PBear probably close... Anywho that's the best comment in R&R history!
probably the best explanation of Noah's music
how did you get that so right on? i usually say 'like being on a space carousel with brian wilson' but your way is just as valid
@Leyla Daze i used to be a fish.
listening to this album is like being on a slip-n-slide in a wormhole
I just discovered this music & truly love the sound! I like how different it is.
great album!
I like it.
mixed by Pete Kember/Sonic Boom
scheherazade samples king tubby can barely hear it tho
10/10
i love you, noah
good music but could be slightly more up tempo. it's morissey on synth and vocals, but VERY acceptable regardless. :)
if it was "more up tempo" IT wouldn't be IT. It would be another album, that's a contradiction
found this from /mu/...
really interesting stuff, it lacks some body in some respect but i think that's part of the charm of the record as a whole, and it's a good sound. good album.
I don''t know, but in this weird way, this album just captivates my mind. It's so soothing, but so overwhelming at the same time. It's very hard to concentrate on anything else like reading or just thinking about other stuff than the songs itself.
You Can Count On Me 0:00
Tomboy 2:33
Slow Motion 7:28
Surfers Hymn 12:05
Last Night At The Jetty 16:14
Drone 20:54
Alsatian Darn 24:55
Scheherazade 29:11
Friendship Bracelet 33:03
Afterburner 38:57
Benfica 45:47
Panda Bear is a champion.
I don't think anyone uses his voice in such an instrumental way as lennox does... its like another dreamy layer of synth over the top...
A bit late, but Cocteau Twins do that too!
Christian Woolsey nah a worthy point. Alice always sounds AC like but 20 years earlier :)
benfica is a mantra I love panda bear, I love how benfica just keeps going into itself, its like it never has to end if you don't want it too, tomboy focuses a lot more on the beats and rhythm and person pitch was based more on his samples, they are both superb albums, his next one needs to come out soon
very well said
unconventional spectra of a bygone age
I am this album's bitch
9/10 its okay.
THIS IS SO GOOD HOW IS THIS REAL
KNOW YOU CAN COUNT ON ME
+AJ R
NO, YOU CAN'T COUNT ON YOU
amazing...
Q genial pasen a mi canal
Excelente Noah...
Scheherazade <3
My comment had disappear, wth
i just figured out this album about 4 days ago and i cant stop listening to is it. panda bear makes good muzic
Sorry but this is so weaker than person pitch...good album though
I disagree, even though I know most critics side with you. Person Pitch was an incredible exploration of sound and recording technique (the first non-dance album constructed entirely from samples, if I'm not mistaken), and as much as a like the long, droney, sunburnt sound of PP, I always end up spinning Tomboy more. These songs do a little something extra for me that the tracks from PP don't.
Really? Do you have any examples? Because I'd definitely love to hear.
If Panda came out with another album like "Person Pitch", then everyone would be complaining that his stuff sounds the same. Can't win either way.
@Richard MacDougall hands by four tet also a gold shout
love this album so much
<3 . <3
Gran Noah Lennox!
Keep in mind that A Thousand and One Nights was quite focused on sex, and did allude to that the king would, well, de-virginize them. She did effectively avoid that.
It's all in your head, once you learn about something you start seeing it everywhere. It's always been there, you just hadn't noticed it before.
wrong, she was avoiding death. she told the evil king ( who would marry virgins and the next day have them beheaded) , scheherazade, told him a different arabian nights story every night leaving off the end to prolong her life
I just went to the National Gallery of Art today and learned what Scheherazade was and now I see it here now. What the fuck? Why does this always happen?
Alsatian Darn changed my life
I fucking love Panda Bear.
Which song is at 20:58?
slow motion and last night at the jetty are the best.
Ironically, Scheherazade is /avoiding/ sex. For literally, like, 1,001 nights.
In a strange way of charming.
This album give me hope.
this is one of those albums i really wanna shut off because of how weird it is but its freakishly addicting to listen to
First time hearing this music in my life - strange, surreal, but for sure pleasant :)
Amazing the feeling of discovering an artist/style of music even for the first time and liking it lol :)
Aaaahhhhh... MUSIC!\
i wish he went into the "i know, i know.." part one more time to close out the song, amazing.
i know, that part is orgasmic
God bless.
Beautiful music.
