Its scary how much I relate to the lyrics of this song. It's the worse. Picking up the pieces someone else has left behind

Edit* ..... but at the same time the video confuses me. So lets say there is the wax perfect woman and Paloma. Now, the LYRICS say that he had this perfect woman on his previous relationship who now has left and Paloma is only picking up the pieces the wax perfect woman left behind and she can see that he's suffering. But in the VIDEO the perfect woman is the one he is in a current relationship with, so the wax one, and Paloma is the one he loves even tho in the LYRICS Ploma is supposed to be his current relationship while in the video Paloma is his past relationship and the wax woman can see that he still loves Paloma....you get me?

The general idea is of being in a relationship where you feel overshadowed by your partner's idealized image of another. In one case, it's the ex that the partner is holding on to. In the other, it's the partner's idealized version of herself. The video gives the song a happy ending, where the boyfriend realizes that he is hung up on a fantasy and comes to love the real person.

Can’t believe I’m just coming across her music. I’m so in love with her voice

I am so late to the party when it comes to this artist (she makes me wonder why all singers/song writers/musicians are even called artists when they don’t hold a candle to Paloma). The way her voice and body language works so seamlessly with passionate lyrics the convey the emotional rollercoaster forcing you to experience each note so powerfully.... it’s exhausting. I just saw an interview with her and to top all of that off she’s is as likable, adorable, kind-hearted and so unfiltered in her joy and appreciation, it’s great to know that some people are like how you would hope to be if you were in their shoes. Congratulations Paloma Faith!
