Palmer, Robert - Fine Time Lyrics
That's ok, one , two, one, two, three, four
This a fine time to tell me
That you want to stay here
This is a fine time, for you to let me know
This is a fine time for you to let me know you want to play
You didn't waste any time, telling me how well you behaved
But you , but you, sure as dropped me a line
'bout patience and danger when meeting a stranger
??
This is a fine time
To tell me
To let me know
Oh yes darlin' it is
This is a fine time for you to let me know, let me know
This is this is this is, this is
That you want to stay
This is a fine time
For you to let me know know this is a fine time for you to let me know
That you want to play
This is a fine time
This a fine for you to let me know
You didn't waste any time
In tellin' me how well you behaved
And you sure as dropped me a line
'bout patience and danger
When meeting a stranger
Without the??
You were the??
This is a fine time
To tell me
Let me know you want to saty here
This is a fine time
For you to let me know

Palmer, Robert Fine Time Comments
He, Palmer thoroughly appreciated New Orleans fusion music playing with The Meters and Little Feat supreme machine!
the 70s was the best of all.....we had such a wide range of new music constantly thru the decade ......loved Bobby Palmer back then and now of course !
It's a fine time for Fine Time!!
Love Robert, he's greatly missed!!
Love the BV's on this most excellent track by the white soul master.
Really happy to find "Fine Time" here. FYI, "Man Smart, Woman Smarter" - the Robert Palmer version - is also spectacular.
Yes I agree, love the blend of steel drums with funk/soul. The bahamas were starting to rub off on him by this point.
Who said white people don't have soul!
Hits the spot, inexplicably.
Little Feat were his studio band here!
Robert bundy
He has a truly magnificent voice.
this is by far my favourite Robert Palmer song....singing from the soul....
Sublime Time.
The more times I listen to this song, the more I'm loving it. Excellent. Thanks for the high quality upload!
Anytime I listen to this album is a Fine Time. Classic.

Eifach nur Geiilll!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wish he had taken Lowells Place!
thingsetcetra That would have been awesome!
Great album good memories really good times so cool !! Life is what u make it !!
It was post Addicted To Love I stopped being a fan of his music.
Before that dire track he used to be raw and soulful. But every album he made seemed to move away from his cool early sound. Eventualy ending up as bland MOR rock artist and even a crooner!
+Derek Gibbons Agreed. And after listening to Little Feat for 33+ years, do I now realize that He ( Robert Palmer), WAS the singing lead, for so many of Little Feats , feats. !!
I don't agree. Many artists/bands try something different and grow as artists as a result. The Beatles, Billy Joel, Willie Nelson, Paul Simon (yuck). I think one of the things I respect about Robert Palmer most is that he was willing to make music his way without being driven to make the same sound over and over again for financial profit. Personally, I don't like "crooner" music either but because of Palmer, I learned to listen to it. He broadened my interests in different styles of music and I am thankful for it. In the end, one of my favorite songs of his is Get It Through Your Heart, a crooner kind of song. The fact that he is tanned, has longer hair and is dressed in an incredible suit (the color defies description) and is alone on stage has absolutely nothing to do with it. ( : He looks delicious!
Fucking spot on..............!!!!
Yeah, the 80s turned up the cheez on society...Palmer being no exception, BUT he still had some interesting deep cuts, and the last record he put out was a really cool kind of return to proto-form...much love for his work in total
whats up with the negative vibes?
never met a dog !
Robert Palmer Lead vocals with Vinegar Joe.
Robert Palmer - from Vinegar Joe to the end was the absolute best . nuff said.
Angela Vary - Totally agree !!
This is one of my top ten albums of ALL time!
Many people only know Robert from the 80's which is when I became a fan, as a kid "Addicted to Love" was so huge. But when I start liking an artist, I go a little overboard and research as far back as I can. That was a bit more difficult to do in the 80's but I found this man had some incredible music that I learned to appreciate way beyond. He had such a funky soul smooth way about him with an incredible voice! I was so crushed when he passed away before his time. I had purchased his CD "Drive" and found it to be an awesome piece of work. Just makes me wonder what else he would have done and what great pieces we are missing. Doesn't keep me from continuing to enjoy all the wonderful music he gave us in the time he was here. Thank you Robert Palmer.
really unfairly pigeon holed by the video glitz of the 80s run...but this man was no dilettante to songcraft and sound.
Majik0715 I'm just beginning my Palmer journey.... wow! If Pressure Drop is the "bad album" I can't wait!...cheers!
So smooooth, so cooool. Totally dope.
palmer had some sick bands back in the 70's
Indeed. Who could ask for a better session band than the original Little Feat lineup?
sorry it was the Meters + Toussaint ..Lowell played the slide ....no other LF on the Sally LP
I was there at Seasaint Studios
And the '80s. I saw several shows. One that stands out was where he and band segued every song during the first set, with links that were different to the preceding song and subsequent one, and different between each song. Fabulous.
silky smooth
my favorite !!
This LP was soooo Sick backinthadays ... Still is :))
SICK.
I had a fine time in the 70's
likewise
@tisgoner Thanks, I've just recently upgraded my whole setup so I should have some excellent vinyl rips in the months ahead. Dual 1219 w/M97xE cartridge, Advent 300 phono preamp + a Nitty Gritty record cleaning machine. Was listening to Little Fear"t's " Down on the farm" last night for te 1st time, what a phenomanal record.

Jamerson is listed in the personnel and so are the guys from Little Feat so it's anybody's guess. Damn good song either way.
I'm pretty sure he was working with the Little Feet band members on all these albums back then.
Is that James Jamerson on bass?
@LeonDigz love it
recorded with little feat,great tune
I love this song
Been looking for this one. Thanks for posting.
Gritty and raw talent!
Thanks! Yeah, I only recently discovered early Robert Palmer, everything he did between 74-80 is classic. I'll try and put some more up as time permits..
