Palmer, Amanda - From St. Kilda To Fitzroy Lyrics

Come in my thoughts
Stomach in knots, and then
Steps, grass, gate, door
Oh, you perfect stranger

Elastic breaking dawn
Last night’s outfit on
From St. Kilda
Towards St. Kilda West
Start my walk of shamelessness

Nice street, coffee, sore feet, diary
Construction men, whistling

"Hey, sweetheart, where've you been?"
Paper shop, buy a pen
What a pretty neighborhood
Stop short, remember him
Biting hard between my legs

Then no more talk inside my head
Delicious feeling like I'm dead
For just a second, shutting up
A fire shock all in my gut

I want to feel it over all the time
I want to feel it over all the time

Come back again
Stop making friends
It's a lot like Chapstick
The effect wears off quick

Nice street, coffee, sore feet, diary
Construction men, maybe eat
Quick, consider motherhood
Luna park, smiling head
Call Melissa, dinner plans
Walking by the esplanade
Feel my stomach in his hands

(I want to feel it over all the time)

Most people would do this trip by tram (ding ding) up St Kilda Road to the city then catch the 86 to Smith Street. The walk there and back is 3-4 hours but can take all day if you let your thoughts run away with you. Like the song ....

  9. B.... B....

    This is my favourite song

  10. S.... T....

this song feels so nostalgic for no reason at all.

    Tonight, Melbourne!

  13. M.... G....

Love the rickety rollercoaster sounds in the background. Love this song so much because its very close to home (pun intended). Looking forward to hearing it live on the 20th September !

  14. k.... ....

I'm glad I wasn't the only one who thought that

  15. k.... ....

She references her own songs, so I wouldn't be surprised. I assumed it was Melissa Mahoney as well =]

  16. J.... J....

Well, that's certainly a MOST provocative use of your lovely head on the photo, gives new meaning to the term "head shot" (?). Your work is always complex & challenging, never ceases to amaze & delight!!

  17. J.... C....

G C for most of it and then at the "grass, steps, gate, door" parts it's D and C.
Really easy, think I might upload a cover. :)

  18. J.... C....

Yes, her real names's Becca Darling though. She's dead now. :( RIP

  23. Z.... ....

its a b-side. they came with the download. at least the pre-orders.

  24. 2.... ....

    LOOOOOOVVVVEEEE

  25. T.... S....

Love these B-sides, but i can see why they didn't make it on the album. They don't really fit in with the rest of the album. Maybe a B-side album is on the cards!

  26. A.... S....

Why is this a B-side? Is awesome!!!

  27. S.... ....

I love this song.... why was it not on the album.
