Pain Of Salvation - Softly She Cries Lyrics

She pours herself another glass of wine.
Tells herself yet another time she's fine.
But earlier today she lost an hour.
A gaping hole just like.
Inside her.
Inside her.

Whenever a plane is passing by.
Or migrating birds fill up the sky.
Something is stirring deep inside.
She doesn't know why but.
Softly she cries.
Softly she cries.

She wears that smile another day in life.
For all we know another perfect wife.
But sometimes she's just gazing into nowhere.
An empty face just like.
She's not there.
She's not there.

Whenever a plane is passing by.
Or migrating birds fill up the sky.
Something is aching deep inside.
She doesn't know why but.
Softly she cries.
Softly she cries.

Somewhere inside her there's a child.
Longing to break away and fly.
But she is just letting life pass by.

Whenever a plane is passing by.
Or migrating birds fill up the sky.
Something is breaking deep inside.
She doesn't know why but.
She starts to cry.
She starts to cry.
Softly she cries.
She starts to cry.

I believe Daniel is creeping each and every night to read our minds. He just knows the deepest side!

the intro sounds like the song playing on the background of ep 6 of death note when they are meating L

Now that's a difficult one, as the three albums mentioned in itself are very different from oneanother. I haven't stumbled upon a band with a rather similar style to Pain of Salvation anyways. You might want to check out some of the progressive metal bands out there. You might like Dead Soul Tribe/Psychotic Waltz (If you don't know them already), as they reach a similar level of creative weirdness and emotional depth. Songs to check out:
    PW: A Psychotic Waltz
    DST: Goodbye City Life

I'm not saying this new style they've used in the 2 Road Salt albums isn't great, it just takes some time to get used too. Still, my favourite PoS albums are: The Perfect Element; Remedy Lane; Be. I keep searching for bands/artists who play in the same style as in those albums, so far I've only found Vangough's Manikin Parade.. any other suggestions?

I adore the diversity these guys bring in each song.

@PolskaSR : It was in Montpellier... their sound was not as good as Opeth's but it was pretty damn good (but not as good as Opeth too in my opinion)

@700wiuf3 Yeah, sure. That's what I think, too. Hm... don't know... Having been a huge fan of Opeths dark, heavy sound and Mikael's deep growling voice, I'm now in between disappointment an fascination with Heritage. Pain of Salvation is rather new to me, though it has been on my "become acquainted with this band"-list. And now I'm asking myself, how I could overlook this great band, which has been around for so many years!

surely no my favorite album but it is ok
I'd just really like it if they made some kind of be II

In the high vocal note after 1:12 it totalyy sounds like the guitar note is an overtone in his voice. Total eargasm :D

I'm not sure I'm liking the production here. I miss that "wall-of-sound" of past.

  18. D.... ....

Incredible how they change style in every album, but the essence is the same.
One of the most amazing bands, they're living legends.
