Pablo Cruise - Worlds Away Lyrics
It's hard to see the end when you're beginning
Time goes by, you start to see the light
Step by step, you follow through
When always in your mind
Worlds away
Oh, the days keep on getting longer
The desire to leave keeps on getting stronger
So time has come to cast away
And get into the sun
You got to be worlds away
Whoa, we wanna be worlds away
Just take your own time
As long as you get there
Worlds away
Yeah, you got to be worlds away
Yeah, you wanna be worlds away
Ah, you know you wanna be worlds away
Worlds away, yeah

Pablo Cruise Worlds Away Comments
Never heard of them!!! Kidding... my fav song from them, so many to chose too...
I'm here because my step dad's brother-in-law dropped off a crate of rando wax and this was in it, and since I'm world's away at the moment (420) I thought why not?
Great Album and band!
Party tune in 1978....um heavy drinking and laughter, good times.
Bought the album in 74 and loved it
It didn’t come out until 1978
Instrumental portions were used as the theme music for the 1983 unaired pilot of the short-lived NBC game show "Hit Man", hosted by future "Press your Luck" host Peter Tomarken.
And it also served as the basis for the actual series theme.
And not to mention, it was also heard as the theme to WJZ-TV's "People are Talking", hosted in the late 70s/early 80s by Richard Sher and Oprah Winfrey... Wonder whatever happened to her?
The very first concert I ever went to was to see Pablo Cruise at the Napa County Fairgrounds, when they were promoting this record. One of my favorite albums as a kid.
On this day in 1978 {July 1st} Pablo Cruise performed "Worlds Away" on the Dick Clark ABC-TV network Saturday-afternoon program 'American Bandstand'...
The song was track one of side one on the group's fourth studio album, 'Worlds Away', the album peaked at #6* on Billboard's Top 200 Albums chart...
Three tracks from the album made Billboard's Top 100 Singles chart; "Love Will Find a Way" {#6*}, "Don't Want to Live Without It" {#21}, and "I Go to Rio" {#46}...
On the same 'Bandstand' show they also performed "Love Will Find A Way", at the time it was at #30 on the Top 100, eight weeks it would peak at #6* {for 1 week}, and it spent 18 weeks on the Top 100...
Their only other Top 10 record, "Whatcha Gonna Do?", also peaked at #6* and it stayed on the Top 100 for a half-year {26 weeks}...
* Seems 6 is Pablo Cruise's lucky number!!!
I'm at UCLA again, 20 and living my California dream😁
Played a lot of air keyboard to this back in '78. Doing a little now, too. :) Thanks for posting!
Wonderful!
Haven't heard this in decades but it has always been in my head. Great tune & production.
So glad to hear it after such a long time...think I might have to run this again.
Haven't heard this since the 70s. Always thought they had a kickass keyboardist.
Like I said before I never left the seventies and never plan too :)
My kids and me were Worlds Away. Grammar Man
Luke Donnelly. I never left. the 60s
Groovy☺
Luke Donnelly I'm stuck in the 70s, too...the music especially
I think I went though about 4 cassette's of this album in my "74" NOVA . Fantastic tune Bro's
BACK in 1978 when this album was popular I had this on 8 track tape!!!!!
How beautiful your in the same lime light of a past. Your Blessed!
LOVE The keyboard work ... Corey you are the man!
As a young teen at the time I found his keyboard work to be absolutely monster on this album and never get tired of this music. Favorite song of this album? Family Man.
Savatage1964
Same here pal. Loved this tune and still do today.
Steve Porcaro and James Newton Howard also figure prominently in the synth work on this record. They are true geniuses.
This was our retro song at J-Bay in 2003 Billlabong Pro Surfing championship.
The film production team liked tis number while doing set-ups Panavision was a little pissed 'cause we got some sand in one of their cameras
Thank you, atempo2005, for sharing this great tune. Your great stereo version is far superior to any of the others which have been posted on YouTube. A&M Records released three singles off of this album, but sadly, the title track wasn't. I think it could have been a huge hit single for them.
Drivin to Deleware in the early AM.....back in the day....love it...
My favorite song from this group.
Magnificent!
Dat Piano.......
