Ozzy Osbourne - Tonight Lyrics

[Daisley - Kerslake - Osbourne - Rhoads]

Now I'm back out on the street again
It never rains unless it pours
Try to get back on my feet again
I hear the raging thunder as it roars

Tonight, tonight
Is it just a rhapsody
Or am I right?
Tonight, tonight
Is it all a mystery?
I just can't fight no more

I hear the questions surface in my mind
Of my mistakes that I have made
Times and places I have left behind
And am I ever gonna make the grade?

Tonight, tonight
Is it just a rhapsody
Or am I right?
Tonight, tonight
Is it all a mystery?
I just can't fight no more

As I beat my head against the wall
Running 'round in circles in vain
I'm feeling three foot tall
You don't understand
I'm fading away

Don't want your pity or your sympathy
It isn't gonna prove a thing to me
Good intentions pave the way to hell
Don't you worry when you hear me sing

Tonight, tonight
Is it just a rhapsody
Or am I right?
Tonight, tonight
Is it all a mystery?
I just can't fight

Ozzy said Randy was the best composer he knew I think that describes him more than guitarist

  23. J.... V....

thing is randy reely hit his stride in this album, what a shame-could you imagine if he had done a 3rd album with ozzy

  24. T.... ....

To the 385 that thumbed down......when you grow up you’ll thumbs up....

  25. P.... N....

Been an Ozzy fan since I was 12. Blizzard and Diary are the pinnacle for me. Randy Rhoads helped put these two albums into legendary status. However, everyone focuses on Randy, so much so I think Ozzy gets shortchanged here. Diary of a Madman is close to some of the most soulful and stirring work Ozzy has ever done. The only stuff that comes close in my my mind is A Hard Road off of Never Say Die. On Diary you have Randy almost literally pulling at your soul with his work, making you feel the music as much, if not more, as hear it. He could make you feel as though his guitar was showing you the real depths of emotion, and there are VERY few guitarists, decades older than him who can do that. Then you have Ozzy sounding like he's lifting your heart or tearing it down to the depths of despair with his inflection, heart, and spot on tone. On his good days, Ozzy could fucking SING. On this album, Ozzy had a DAMN good day. I love Randy and to this day still judge guitarists by him, but in all honesty, his legend would never have become what it is had he not met Ozzy and created this masterpiece with him. The two of them together, along with some incredible material put together by the rest of the band, came together to create something so special, so unique, and so powerful, it'll probably last long after every one of us here today, and our kids.

  26. h.... ....

Daisley is Ok .. he never made another great record without Ozzy. I wonder why? Because the ideas for his rhythm was from Ozzy.

  27. r.... ....

    4:05 until the end❤❤

  28. D.... G....

Megan's I have to go to the store for the day but I will be there in a few minutes

  29. L.... H....

How many of us have smashed our ears to the speaker or headphones during the outro, and slowly turned up the volume to hear the absolute recorded end to the solo? Ahh, what could have been added.

  30. z.... ....

the fade out on the solo is so bittersweet. Godbless you Mr. Rhoads!!!!!!!

    z.... ....

Something else Sabbath related is that both Ozz and Ronnie could sing like a devil and give you chills then then sing a ballad ang sound like an angel

  31. A.... M....

First ballad style from eighties to nineties! reminds you to those nineties ballads from Aerosmith Skid Row.. Blacky Lowless! and many others you know..

  32. J.... H....

    Love song

  33. J.... H....

    Great song

  34. P.... P....

We miss you Randy's! You live on through your guitar playing! So amazing!

  35. M.... C....

The bass lines in this tune are unreal. Amazing stuff.

  36. M.... F....

Il solo di Randy Alla Fine e' Fantastico!

  37. E.... M....

It's sad to know that this is one of Randy Rhodes last albums I wish he would have lived I would have loved to know what else he would have done his death at 25 is tragic

  38. t.... ....

In all honesty and deepest respects, Randy owns this! but as a band> this is the rawest, but greatest kind of music to actually understand while I grew up! nobody knows unless you've been there

  39. N.... T....

    I tear up a little

  40. D.... ....

EASILY one of my top 5 Ozzy tunes.  Some of Randy's best work and THAT is saying something.  The outro alone makes this tune a classic!

  41. P.... F....

This song is amazing but what's more amazing is that Ozzy doesn't have a writer's credit for the song and that's good because he never wrote a song Bob Daisley wrote all of his songs and Geezer wrote the ones before that

  42. V.... B....

From a great album. Top 20 of all time? Such a moving, wonderful, sad song from Randy Rhoades, etc.

    V.... B....

Not listening to another Rhodes guitarist replacement, sorry.

  43. E.... h....

    350 dislike.
Get your fucking dirty asses out of here you rappers, hip hoppers, or what the fuck you are.
Ozzy is not to be judged , but to be appreciated, respected, love as we sip good old wines.
    Hail Mr Osbourne.
    Cheers from Brazil 😈💞

  44. C.... S....

The song Tonight and You Can't Kill Rock & Roll are two of my favorite Ozzy songs. Just something about them.

  45. r.... s....

1 of Ozzy's best songs IMO.

  46. M.... 7....

This song and much of Diary and all of Blizzard was written at old mill house Wales which belongs to friends there's a video on my channel. There's a photo in Bob Daisley's book, that we gave to him. Poor Randy Rhoads that's all I have to say.

  47. G.... M....

Hearing this song I just want to open up my veins and fade like the solo at the end, as the tears run down my face.

  48. m.... c....

my fave album and song on it :)

  49. D.... C....

Randy had soul, and you can really hear it in this song. Amazing how gifted he was...like a modern day Mozart.

  50. B.... J....

The isolated guitar track from this if ever made would make me explode

  51. B.... J....

They rushed the fuk out of the original blizzard band here and still a gem of a record!!

  52. p.... r....

Loved it when I was 12.
    Amazing.

  53. p.... r....

Ozzy at his best. Love it in 2019.

  54. r.... g....

I think Randy brought out Ozzy's best singing voice in the 2 albums they made together. Awesome solo in this song as well .

  55. d.... ....

I swear... I wish that solo at the end would never end!!!

  56. z.... ....

I had this song playing at my uncle's memorial last year. He was a big Ozzy fan, particularly of the stuff with Randy and Jake. He is missed by my family. RIP Uncle Angel

  57. M.... C....

Bob Daisley really shined on this song..Love that bass line

  58. D.... V....

I am amazed Ozzy never sang this song in concert

  59. C.... B....

  60. C.... B....

    Awesome album 👌👍

  61. S.... H....

The Most under rated Ozzy song. My personal favorite. I re play in my mind

  62. C.... S....

I remember the first time I heard "You can't kill rock n roll" and realized that Randy was going to be a legend and Ozzy had hit the jackpot. Ultimately setting his solo career up for success. The irony is that a lot of people thought Ozzys career would suffer once out of Sabbath but Ozzy hit it big and the rest of Sabbath went forward the next several decades in his shadow.

  63. a.... p....

a love ballad from the OZ........................a great song.............Randy on the ax & the piano & bass really blends well ................one of Ozzy's top 5 !!

  64. J.... A....

An outro for the ages. RIP Randy.

  65. M.... L....

Its Great. They had taken Kerslakes and Daisleys parts out of this, of course by the wicked wife of Ozzy, but they eventually were paid for all their writing credits as well. Ozzy didnt provide lyrics to the majority of these songs

  66. B.... J....

I would love to hear the unfaded version of the full lead end break. Why Ozzy was it chopped short?

  67. A.... ....

    Great workout song😆

  68. S.... 1....

Excellent guitar work. Rhythm section is sublime. Ozzy? The fucking wizard of wordmen

  69. D.... F....

38 years since I bought this, I have no idea when i lats played it, and I still know every word. Brilliant.

1 of my absolute favorite songs ever.& from Ozzy 🤘

  74. J.... T....

    Love ya Oz

  75. d.... n....

Randy was awesome, but the bassist is working well here. And I love both. With one the other it's just a bassist or a guitar, much less with out the other, but still good.

  76. J.... A....

    Godspeed, Randy

  77. d.... ....

    randy rhoads gentlemen

  78. N.... Y....

Probably my favourite Randy solo in this song

  80. S.... T....

To you who say bass or anyone thing, don't get it ..its bringing it all together that truly makes the magic..rock on..😎

  81. C.... m....

The one hell in my life right now that puts a lump in my throat, and the hell I hate most, is hearing a song like this that brings back a flood of happy memories. I wish I could describe the feeling, but i cant. For me, It's like a mix of homesickness, loss, and something else I cant describe. I just know it fuckin sucks, and i wouldn't wish it on the devil himself.

  82. D.... G....

    O'yeah!

  83. L.... H....

I like this song better than any on this album

  84. g.... ....

    Goose bumps

  90. t.... h....

1 of the VERY best rock songs of all time and sooooo many people have never heard it --just a damn shame

  91. B.... B....

Do someone know the stuff he uses in his outro solo? Please let me know!

  92. S.... B....

That outro! The bit where the guitar starts cracking up into feedback. Joyous.

  93. s.... ....

    great ballad from ozzy.

  94. j.... ....

Yes, fading the solo into nothing was a crime. But we've all learned how to crank the volume carefully as it fades to simulate the music going on. And I think that if you listen at the very end before it's truly gone, Randy seemed nowhere near finished playing. He was still creating new phrases when it ended. Shame. Gone too soon...just like him.

  95. M.... e....

I've been cranking the end of this song up since back when Randy was with us. I'm 50 now, and it still sounds as new as it did when I was 13. I've been playing rock and metal guitar all these years, but this one I can't seem to get through without the emotions overwhelming me.
As well as the rest of Randy's work for that matter. But this one is special. I've never been affected l by a passing like that of Randy... You are loved and horribly missed
    R I P Randy
    🤘

  96. m.... ....

Easily randys best solo and easily ozzys best song , simply timeless perfect mix of lovely lyrics , powerhouse vocals and randys absolute perfection guitar playing, rip mate thankyou so much for what you left us !!!!

  97. K.... B....

    What a song

  98. J.... S....

    Diary of a madman 1981
