I have doubts, I am not a Christian but I do believe that God exists and Jesus was real. I question the religion itself but im all about having a relationship with God and hope one day I will get the answers. No hell, no death. I find myself doubting in my belief of God a lot, but songs like these put me at peace. I'd like to fully believe in God, but find it hard to do so. But I'll continue to listen when I am suffering or when I long for inner peace, because it does effect me certainly.

I feel the same way, I've been calling myself an atheist for like ten years, and have only recently been trying to reconnect with my faith. It's hard and I doubt myself the whole time, but like you said, music like this puts me at peace with everything. Oh no, I know he didn't write this one himself. This and "In Christ Alone", at the very least, as well as "How Deep the Father's Love for Us" are not original to Adam Young. Those have been hymns on their own for ages.

I am not that religious but I really like listening to Adam's music.

I've been a Christian for a long time, I'm only 14, but I know for a fact that God is for real. My dads a pastor and being a Christian has been really helpful. If you don't believe I highly encourage you to find your heart and believe in our Christ, our savior.

I am an atheist and I have tried to become a Christian before, but I can’t. I just can’t bring myself to believe. I want to believe because a Christian world view is much better than a positive atheist world view, but it isn’t logical with any kind of solid evidence to back it up in my opinion.

@Zemovik See that's the thing, people are so grounded in logic and reason that God doesn't make sense to them. logical is a natural mindset which can not understand or comprehend the spiritual mind because it is the complete opposite of a spiritual mind set. It is not equipped to understand the spiritual where God is. I admire your persistence in looking for God. keep trying, everyone has a journey. People find it hard to believe that God is real because we often think he has to appeal to the 5 senses, see him feel him or hear him. ect. Wrong, God is not like us humans, he does not have limits like us where we can put him into a box and say if we can't hear touch feel or smell him he is not real. He's an infinite and limitless being too big to comprehend. He is called the God of the impossible because he has no limits. If your trying to find him in logic you won't because to find him logic he has to be conformed to the limits of logic and the 5 senses which he can't be. your looking in the wrong direction. If you want to truly find out if he is real.....perhaps I can help you. reply to this comment. I won't have all the answers but I really would like to help if your ok with it. God Bless.

@David Um While I agree with most of what you said, I think it's important to acknowledge that God gave us logic and reason because they help us see him. Christianity is extremely logical, but nowadays it's accepted that it's illogical. Logic tells us that all effects are the result of a cause, and that time itself is built of causes and effects. So, logically, all of time leads back to one effect. But what caused that first effect? Logically, something outside of space and time had to start time and the universe. Science defeats itself - logically. That's why we need God to explain the universe. Once it comes down to faith, you can't "prove" anything. Faith wasn't meant to be proven, and that's why it's faith. But God gives us reason to lead us to the facts. We just need to believe it. But I totally agree that overthinking things makes God hard to see. We tend to think that God should be right in our faces - I mean, he is, but our nature is to ignore him. . . I guess if I'm going to comment I should add that YEP this song is great and Adam Young's hymn covers are my favorites :3

@Zemovik logic is good and all. It's good to have a grounded sense of reality. But have you ever looked at a kid and thought "when did life stop being simple? Why can't I be happy like THAT" well life stopped being simple when we grew up and tried to make it make sense. Kids understand that they don't understand and that even if they don't get everything they have someone bigger and stronger and wiser to protect them and provide for them. That's sort of his you have to look at it with God. You won't understand alot of things. They logically won't click just yet but if you trust that God is in control and that you don't need to understand everything then you'll start to understand more the more you just want to get to know him. So don't throw logic away. Just save it for when you grow up a little in the Lord. Right now you have to come to him as a little child and trust that he's going to protect you. Then start to try and know him. Pray read your Bible and if you do this in good faith then you'll realize eventually that the logic was there all along, you just couldn't see it yet. I really hope this helped
