Owens, Buck - Act Naturally Lyrics
They're gonna put me in the movies
They're gonna make a big star out of me
We'll make a film about a man that's sad and lonely
And all I got to do is act naturally
Might win an Oscar you can never tell
The movie's gonna make me a big star,
'Cause I can play the part so well.
Well, I hope you come and see me in the movie
Then I'll know that you will plainly see
The biggest fool that's ever hit the big time
And all I got to do is act naturally.
We'll make a scene about a man that's sad and lonely
I'll play the part but I won't need rehearsing
All I have to do is act naturally.
Well, I bet you I'm a gonna be a big star
Might win an Oscar you can never tell
The movie's gonna make me a big star,
'Cause I can play the part so well.
Well, I hope you come and see me in the movie
Then I'll know that you will plainly see
The biggest fool that's ever hit the big time
And all I got to do is act naturally...

It’s amazing how ringo sounded exact to his voice
I was born the 1st day of 1963. I was born with hip dysphasia and didn't walk till I was 3. My dad used to take me around the neighborhood in the wagon or carry me and he would sing to me and this was one of his favorites that he would sing I will remember anyways times like that. I lost my dad 31/2 years ago and it has been the hardest thing ever. We were extremely close and he was the best man ever. I sure don't make them like that anymore.
Perfect Ringo song
But for sheer enjoyment I prefer this original

Ah... The oldies are the goodies.
His pitch was near perfect when he sang this song in 1963.
This Right here is just gravy baby. This is or should be the theme song of Charlie Sheen's life.
Great song. 🙂I love buck Owens songs
ringo did it better personally
You ever meet Buck? I have, seen him perform as well. I found him to be genuine. Too bad these guys from this era of Country are passing away, its a real shame.

Оказывается эта вещь совсем не битловская,как я считал всю жизнь. И это ее только улучшает!

Way too hilly-billy, as expected. The Beatles version is SOOOO much better!
The best thing about the Silver Peso bar in Larkspur, is the jukebox, as it has this song, which is the first time I ever heard it. And heard it. And heard it. And heard it...
A song about Charlie Sheen.
the old regulars is the best music you ever listen to
I wrote a song in 1962 which had a similar verse melody, but I'm 92% sure I hadn't heard this song then. See youtu.be/ExGpQVPzpYA

I didn't like Buck Owens at all when he first started. This song changed won me over!
Buck Owens originally recorded the song back in 1963, and The Beatles would later record their version of the song back in 1965.
RIP to my grandmas sister 1942-2017 this was her favorite song 😞
The only thing better in the Beatles version of this song is Ringo's drumming..
This version is more of a country song, while Ringo's is just... I don't know, but I like Ringo's better.
The Beatles were actually some of Buck's Biggest Fans!! The Beatles were always the first to get one of Buck's new releases!! Check it out!! True Story!! Ol Buck was truly a Great Artist!!

A way thumbs up to you and your fellow service people. Thank you for your service.
Canned Heat played at my USAF base in 1973. Four years earlier they played Woodstock in 73 a baseball field on an AF base.
@wavygr Saw Supremes minus Diana. Ft Leonard Wood, Mo 1972
Garth Brooks and Jewel played for us on USS Enterprise after we returned from the post-9/11 operations. I'll never forget it. Entertainers like this are incredible.
Also Dobie Gray played at Eglin AFB FL where i was stationed at the airman's club. I wanted to see him but The Red Barn the airman's club was the biggest soul club in the area and white males weren't welcome.
, hey you bunch of dumbasses Ringo's not trying to outdo buck you just did it because it's a cool tune he liked
love the bakersfield sound
Ringo and the Beatles were infuenced by Buck Owens. Theors was recorded a year after Buck’s recording. The song was written by Johnny Russel

So nostalgic for me. I remember listening to the riders in the sky version for the toy story 2 soundtrack woody’s roundup
Now this was country music!! I can vividly recall these days!!!!
I put my cell on car charger on car radio after working as actor on ABC TV "Nashville" came blaring out radio
Don Rich on harmony vocals also.
I'm with Jim, I like them both as well. I remember my dad having a small booklet about Buck and the Beatles, way back when, Buck wore a mop-top wig
they did a skit in their act about the Beatles.
i love the buckster
They don't make good country music like this anymore.
I love the Bakersfield Sound.
I love Bakersfield period.
I went to high school with two of Buck's sons, Mike and Buddy, who were great guys. Met Buck a few times. Nice people.
@Michael Luther Back in my radio days, Buck offered me a job at KUZZ. I turned it down because it was an hour and a half commute, and I didn't want to move down there. But I enjoyed the times I got to talk to him.
This song was featured as the title track on the dark depressing documentary Capturing The Friedmans (2003). One of the most devastating experiences I've had, one of, if not the greatest documentary I've ever seen.
ZZ Top covered this live in Houston last night. It rocked!!!
My alltime favorite Song since 1965
They should have used this for the season finale of Bojack Horseman.
Great!!!!! ty
Nothing wrong with Buck Owens - but The Beatles' version has a tighter rhythm, it's more Rock and less Country.
Nailed it Hugh! Probably that's what pisses country fans off.
Ringo and Buck's voices are a kinda similar
A real man's singer!!!! alpha male music!
