Otis Redding - Satisfaction Lyrics
I can't get no satisfaction
I can't get no satisfaction
I have tried, I have tried
I have tried, I have tried
I can't get no, uh, now
When I'm driving in my car
And the man talks on the radio
Keep tellin' me more and more
About that useless information
He's tryin' to mess up my imagination
And I can't get me no, no, no
And I can't get me no
You gotta, gotta, gotta groovy
We gotta have it, we gotta have it
We gotta have it, we gotta have it
Keep on grooving, keep on grooving
We keep on grooving, God, no, my, yeah
I can't get no satisfaction
I can't get no, no satisfaction
I have tried, I have tried
I have tried, I have tried, tried, tried
I can't get me no, no, no
And I can't get me no, no, no, no
We gotta groove it, groove it, oh my now
We keep on knockin', knockin' baby, yeah
Ow, gotta, gotta have it
We gotta, keep, keep, ah
Whatever, why won't you wait for time
This little girl is tryin' to put me down
I keep on runnin' round in my sleep
I keep on messin' up any beat
I keep on rockin', I try to find me
Somebody to love me
And give me some reaction
And I can find nobody, no, no, nobody
Give me no faction, faction
Faction got to have it
Satisfaction, we got to have it
Satisfaction, earlier in the morning
Satisfaction, later in the evening
Satisfaction, and don't make my

Pulsating back-beat, Otis' unique voice, 60's style blues band - outstanding. 1:58 on is especially

Some songs should just be left alone, in my opinion this song should never have been covered by anyone especially an Amazing artist. #1 God #2 Rolling Stones then everyone and everything else

130 people who disliked this song can get shot by a firing squad!!!!
It's mesmerizing to me how quickly he recorded this in the year (1965) only a month or two after the original. And, the song in this form was a brilliant revved up version still so loved even now!
vengo por Berto, jaja
It would've been nice if the both of them were able to perform the song on tour together
My man Otis!
Rolling stones brought me here
Best cover of rolling stones song I have ever found.
this arrangement adds the 5th at the end as resolve which is not on the original recording which has two measures of drum beat only
I am very disappointed at the sound quality of this video. I am such a big Otis fan and when I found this video I was excited to hear it. Now I'm upset that such a powerful version of Satisfaction was reduced to such an ordinary presentation.
Awesome blues!!
es cover de the rolling stone? o al reves
The horns are unbelievable this must shirley have influenced and inspired Mick
Who make the first version?

Around 2:14 does he say:
“I keep on messin’ up...ADD”?
As if to suggest he had ADHD?
Cause I do that a lot lol!
I always thought that ADHD wasn’t even a thing until the 70s or 80s, & back in the 40s-60s ppl only got Rx amphetamines etc...for like weight loss, fatigue, depression, alcoholism(all things they say you should NOT prescribe stimulants for in 2018...how times change) but that once ADHD became well-known they began to prescribe stimulants for ADHD & ONLY ADHD...no more for weight loss, fatigue, etc..

Am I the only one to prefer this over the original?
Keith Richards originally wanted the Stones' song to have horns on it. He was not amused when he heard the track (as we know it by heart) playing on radios, believing it was still unfinished. The filtered guitar riff we hear at the beginning, he says, was just a guide thing (a sketch, as he put it) for the future placement of horns and not intended to be permanent.
I've always liked Otis's version, but I also like Devo featured on the movie Casino. It is one great song.
yes, yes you are
Nope im there too
I no what he saying .go ottis r.i.p
the best cover of this tune, good ol otis ,funky as hell.
I can't a get te' no! No, no!
So much better than Jagger's voice. Imagine how good the Rolling Stones could have been with Otis instead of Mick.
Men in black
I'm a huge Otis fan and he's a legend but the Stones have the best version of this song
Grande grande grande !!!!!
Doesn't this song make you wanna get high? :)
Joe L ...NO!
THE VERSION BY ROLLING STONES WAS A TRIGGER TO POPULARIZE THIS LYRIC BY OTIS REDDING AS MANY BANDS DID IT AT THAT TIME AND UNTIL TODAY. Kate Perry said some songs of hers were recorded by others uuntil she could break thru with her 1ts singles.
also got to say I love both
for years I thought this was the original and the stones was the cover
I might still prefer the Stones...not sure. Really pleased they're both out there.
Damn! Lord have mercy!
Otis, James, and Aretha in days past were all performing for new and eager audiences feasting on their sounds.
Jagger liked Devo's version too !
Damn! Talk all about ...
O.Redding; genial!
The Big O...Horn Section... Please
Sans nostalgie, aucune..... C'est vraiment TOP!!!!
Otis Redding made a rubbish stones song into a good song.
Fuck of!
Here because this album was such a HUGE part of my childhood "getting of musical wisdom." You just don't KNOW!!!
After hearing this version you will have to say
" roll over stones" no disrespect Mr. Jagger
I like it like that.
this song was originally written for Otis Redding as a gift. This is the ORIGINAL song as keith richards wrote this song for otis redding. According to keith he wrote it in his sleep..woke up with the
beat in his head or the brass parts.
such a great version of mick & keef masterpiece! respect
a.k.a: The Otis Redding, bad-ass version.
Stunning version
omg i love this version(gay voice)
An LP local radio station brought me here...how can anyone say no to Otis Redding?
👏👏👏💪
.......Dammit , this still so amazing after soooo much time !!!!
This is good but The Rolling Stones are better
Bullshit
Disagree.
I agree
Otis Redding les enterre
Keith Richards thought this cover version was better, as it starts off with the horn section he wanted but could only dream of when the Stones first recorded their original version earlier in 1965. He claimed the fuzztoned guitar riff that starts the melody was a "sketch," a placeholder, as to where the horn section would go if the song had been finished according to his specifications.
Reddit brought me here. I had no idea this existed.
I was suckled on this song
41 people just can't get no satisfaction !
Eat your heart out Mick Jagger
they were friends, and yes I agree he surpassed Mick Jagger, he would admit that Otis was his mentor
Wow, that's totally news to me!
Tom Engel funnily enough Keith Richards said that this version was how he heard Satisfaction when he came up with the riff, with a horn section
The Rolling stones brought me here
beautiful guitar's sound at this time...love it
Fuck Rollinstones..Just a bunch of junkies and robbers.
+sexypoetry I know what it means of course..U crazy?
@nenad aleksic didn't you ask me what it means?
+sexypoetry I was kidding. ;)
Please shut the fuck up
Свакако најбоља обарда овог легендарног класика од Стонса
My favorit song! Otis <3 Cant get enough of U :)
Am I the only one who want this kind of music sounding in every bar again?
horns and soulful singing sure as hell beat macbook beats and fucking autotune
Great Stuff!
He just can't get no...satisfaction!
Antonio De La Cerda no
This is playing in my bar don’t worry
Otis included the horns which Keith wanted for the Stones. Unknown to Keith, Satisfaction was released before he had a chance to arrange the song how he wanted to. Anyhow, it all worked out for the Stones and this is good version as well.
Nope, Keith himself said it was a Gibson fuzzbox.
I've watched the life documentary too.
HeGonnaStayInTheBigHouse? Satisfsction was an accident by Keith
@Fred Garvin
He would use the acoustic guitar/tape recorder high output trick more liberally in 1968, on songs like "Jumpin' Jack Flash," "Street Fighting Man" and other _Beggars Banquet_ tracks, like "Parachute Woman."
ohhhhhhhhh! i get it now
otis lo ascolti.........e non commenti
a me capita cosi ciao buona notte
Keith Richards has always said that he intended for the riff of "Satisfaction" to be played on horns, he wanted it to be a Stax soul record. But the release of the demo prevented him from finishing the song as he envisioned it. It was Otis Redding who's version hit the nail on the head with the riff being played by a horn section.
+RastaSaiyaman I've read this in his book as well... pretty amazing how that happened, with the demo being released.
He does admit that he's happy it got released because a version with horns (like Otis' version) was not "the Stones style."
I love both versions for their own reasons!
@Lee Swagerty
Maybe strange to compare it to but the same thing happened to Father Abraham's "Smurf song" he recorded the demo playing everything himself with lyrics he had every intention of modifying as soon as he made himself more familiar with the little blue men.
But the record company released that demo straight away telling him "it's a hit" and indeed it was all over the world. These days though Father Abraham would like to be remembered for "Red rose cafe" rather than the "Smurf song"
Is this song originally the Stones' or Otis'? either way both have awesome versions - being a rock-head I have to still dig this version.
Stones wrote and released first...
+Tonmoy Bhattacharya The original is by the Stones. An American hard rock band called Blue Cheer released a version of this song in 1968, in their album Outsideinside. Is great!
+Tonmoy Bhattacharya The stones never permit cover versions?
+bipedalame Stones love cover versions of their songs- they get paid...
Wish I music was like this still, 15 years alive and it's still all bad, except this stuff
+Nut_Burger You're 15 yrs old and listening to Otis?
Good on you.
I'm 25 and didn't discover Otis until I was 20. Wish I could have heard it 5 years earlier!
Yes sir, Delta, Classic Rock, and all that, good stuff
the classic original song from the king of soul otis redding. no one can sing like this guy the best. and i always loved this version more the than the rolling stones version.
+Jamie Warrior Warlord McCallum Otis' version is a cover of the Stones. Not the original.
He didn't say this was the original. He only said that he preferred this version.
+Clifford Forester "the classic ORIGINAL song from the king of soul".........
+Clifford Forester
Keith prefers to hear it this way.
It's kind of an original being he somewhat improvised some of the words
