Loved them Donny did sing great for his age, and recorded some wonderful songs with his brothers doing backing vocals, Merrill was always so distinctive with Jay's voice too...Now Jay (my fave Os), wow what a drummer, I learnt from him that there is actually sheet music for drums! LOL

Sounds amazing for such a young person - also does sound in the recording they may have doubled his voice, but that's a fairly common technique used to this day. In 1972 I thought I was his biggest fan :)

I noticed that at the beginning of the song too. It sounded like the doubling wavers or goes in and out at the beginning. The recording process sounds a little off or something. The Beatles doubled everything, and Nirvana did when Cobain was told Lennon was always doubled. In those days it was not easy to double record your vocals and make it sound good, you have to basically have both tracks be almost identical.

The quality of Donny's voice is amazing and beyond his years at this time in his life it melancholy testimony to all the talent he has even though he was young he could make you feel every emotion.

Donny was very much in the same league as Michael Jackson as a kid singer and performer.
