Orton, Beth - So Much More Lyrics
It's another cold London night
I wrap his head around my shoulders tight
Please excuse me
Seems there's someone at my door
I wouldn't leave
So much more
So much more
It's another cold London day
And I'm always walking down the escalator
The up way
Please excuse me
I can't seem to get inside
I only wanted to know
If you're alive
If you're alive
(I don't know how to live)
(I just don't know how to live)
I can't see there's a day
There's a feeling up there
But I don't know what it is
Don't know what it means
Don't know what it means
So now I'm turning
Into the light
It always seems the further
When the end's in sight
Please excuse me
I just need to be outside
Only looking for air to breathe
Air to breathe
Air to breathe
I feel alive
(I feel so alive, it's cold tonight)
I don't know how to live
(Don't know how to live)
(Just don't know how to live)

Tu toanta o să mori de cel mai cumplit cancer și idioatrle tale de stane psihopate la fel și alte boli grave incurabile crunte și călcat ca ele
my dad sent me a Beth Orton cassette tape when I was probably 11 or 12. I'm rediscovering her now,15 years later. she's just amazing
Oh God Beth, that ache in your voice. Oh God.
This song is featured in the film What Alice Found. If you like Beth Orton you'd like this film. Amazon, iTunes, etc (Emmylou Harris music too)
Hi everybody, I'm from Mexico and spanish is my first language, so I need your help to undertand this song. I like Beth since she worked the first times with William Orbit, i really like her interpretations and singing. In this case I don't understand completely the sense of this song lyrics, I understan the words but I don't understand what is she refering...somebody who suffered and tried to scape, about love, about what is narrative? And th video: What do the woman under water mean, what do rabits, ship, frog, children and the man on the horse mean? It seems they are looking for mom and somebody tried to find the, but I don't have the context... some help?
+AbeLinguista The song lyrics seem to be about missing someone she once dated. The video is an unrelated clip from an old film. They marry well though.
+Aragniphobia thank you! :-)
you must see this movie
Well...for the video: it's from the movie "The Night of the Hunter" Charles Laughton...the 2 kids lost their mother, killed by Robert Mitchum (she's the women under the water...)......for the lyrics, sorry, no puedo decirte mas, porque hablo frances, y no he traducido (?) ....;+)
The video is from a movie, an old movie can't remember the name of it.
The Night of the Hunter
beautiful
Such a wonderful voice..you could get lost in it
GREAT video to go with that song! I just discovered Beth Orton tonight, and I can't believe I've been missing out on her great talent all this time. This song in particular is utterly stunning.
The great Charles Laughton directed NOTH, his only time behind the camera. Just a terrific film, although Shelley Winters was a bit grating as usual.
Laughton's first time behind the camera solo, with full control, although earlier he made _The Man on the Eiffel Tower_ with co-directors Burgess Meredith and Irving Allen. Sorry to be pedantic.
Very sad and calming...
Beth, you're her other filter
My imagination awakes...
Thanks...
This is the shot to my soul ...
there is the mood,the atmosphere...
