One genre she can't play is the Blues. She plays with WAY too much distortion and not enough soul. Bonamassa joined her and Sambora on stage and her playing just didn't fit in. She's be more successful in Country. She sure has the voice for Country.

I just love reading comments from people not in the business who are guitart experts.Would be like me commenting about an up and coming Formula 1 driver. I would have no clue. Just like you have no clue on who will and will not make it in the music business. Thisis a very tough business.

Overated my ass. I do this for a living and she is not overated. She plays a genre of music that is not top 40 so no radio play. But having seen all the best she just needs to get the big break. She had it with Michael Jackson before that tour got canceled. You have ot get a break and tour with a big name and its coming if she wants it to.

Well depends who you ask but both Richie Sambora & Alice Cooper are big names in Rock N' Roll and Alice Cooper outside of that to a degree.

She's working at it.  don't worry.  I think she's being very picky about any deals that come her way.  Judging by her last two albums, she wants artistic control.  No major label is gonna allow her that luxury.  She's proven she can write, arrange and perform her own music.  And she can direct and perform it all on stage(yes there is a difference between stage and studio performance).  So I think she's placing her steps very carefully.  I think she has the right people backing her.  And making a move to tour with alice cooper was a perfectly placed step in the right direction.

i thought i was the only one!!! Im a guy and i freakin love her shes so amazing at singing and playing she gets me so amped up (no pun intended) to play guitar and sing everytime!!!

actually, listening to her makes me believe that the art of music making hasn't died.  may not be as popular as it was back in the 60's and 70's but real music hasn't all died out yet. gives me a little bit of faith that real art still does exist.

C'mon man, you don't get to play with Steve Vai if you suck. Orianthi isn't just one of those talented 'girl' guitar players...she's considered one of the best players in the world.

As for Jackson, he doesn't hire average. Having said that, while very popular, cool etc, at no point in history was Slash ever the greatest of guitar players, he has his own style and sound, unique to him and everybody likes him....which is why Jackson hired him.

By starting off on piano at age 4 or 5, moving to acoustic guitar a few years later, then to electric at age 11. She was in bands by age 14 or so, and joined Stevie Vai for a performance in Australia when she was 15.

She has since toured with Stevie Vai a few times, something not mentioned elsewhere.

She is no amateur, for sure. Check out her version of Voodoo Child, too.

Rock with some blues & country riff i guess. There are many subgenres. In blues you have Chicago (which is where rock n roll derives from), Memphis, Delta & so on. Music cannot always be defined, but might be mix between genres. I am quite sure this cannot be catogorized what so ever. Just enjoy the music - I am glad good music still exist.

Playing full chords with distortion doesn't sound good, use just power chords!
