Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark - Enola Gay Lyrics
Enola Gay
You should have stayed at home yesterday
Ah-ha words can't describe
The feeling and the way you lied
They're going to end in more than tears some day
Ah-ha Enola Gay
It shouldn't ever have to end this way
It's eight fifteen
And that's the time that it's always been
We got your message on the radio
Conditions normal and you're coming home
Enola Gay
Ah-ha this kiss you give
It's never ever going to fade away
Enola Gay
It shouldn't ever have to end this way
Ah-ha Enola Gay
It shouldn't fade in our dreams away
It's eight fifteen
And that's the time that it's always been
We got your message on the radio
Conditions normal and you're coming home
Enola Gay
Is mother proud of little boy today
Ah-ha this kiss you give
It's never ever going to fade away

Here we are in 2020 and this is still a banger
OMD I love you guys! Still one of the best songs.
80s, when even a song about a nuclear bomb sounded cheerful
It was actually the airplane 😉
2020 anyone
1:20 he’s so great he can play bass without even touching the strings.
I hate how my parents grew up with good music like this and I’m here growing up with terrible music like Cardi B
mad hanger You have to dig outside radio friendly and top 40. Find yourself what you want to listen to; don’t let them decide or you. And this applies to all decades...
Although good songs are harder to find these days, it’s important to remember all periods in time had good and bad music. It’s just that mainly the good music from the past is remembered, thus making it seem like all music from the past was great.
Who`s listening in 2020?
Anyone here 2019 ? 👍❤️this song
Such an 80’s song, I’m a millenial, but, I love this song
One of the best songs of the 80s... and ever actually
Omd enola gay guauuuuu
Love these Night Flight reruns...
ETERNAL !!!!
0:00 melodias nostalgicas u.u
This is the name of the plane that dropped the first atomic bomb on Hiroshima. The plane was called the Enola Gay
Yep, it was named after the pilot's mother. "Little boy" was the codename of the bomb, and "8.15" was the time in Hiroshima when the bomb detonated.
Melodia muito boa,a letra melhor ainda!!
OMG its OMD
I see what you did there XD
Brilliant lyrics. "This kiss you give, is never ever going to fade away..." When we think of that kiss, which blinded, mutilated, burned and vaporised countless thousands of people, it still gives me goose bumps, nearly 40 years later.
When we talk about the 80's this is The Song
2019. December
Man...I just received a message from the eighties...the eighties say: "We wanna come back"...will we accept???
well, it certainly feels like the 80's again, the devastation of thatchers reign, extreme poverty, and a constant sense of dread that the world is gonna end, and the doomsday clock at 2 minutes to midnight
I'm still waiting for the creatives to come and make great music and art though
Me in the eighties
But tell the shoulder pads to stay put. Lol
I thought shoulder pads were happening again, back again these days? Haaahah ;-}
❤❤❤
Proof that synthetic instruments don't matter when the quality of the melody is there
Well that's a matter of opinion.
TYPICAL SONG FROM THE COLD WAR ERA
SO GLAD I GREW UP IN THE MARVELOUS 80’S... OH OUI !
WHAT A GREAT ERA! I’M GLAD THAT I LIVED THROUGH IT. OH OUI !
Le top 50. Je kiffe ma jeunesse

Still a magic song.. with a twist.. enjoy..
Top 80s song - from a decade when turning the radio on was worthwhile!
A shame how it's gone today with all of the rap "music"
One of the Greatest Synth Pop Anthems ever made.
Master piece
I am old!!! I thought this was 20 years ago. NO, it is 40 years!
Terrible, isn't it? When you hit 40 time seems to double in speed.

@pink mandalorian Ça s'appelle le New Waves
The 80s had such a special music that reminds me the time I was at a young age at my friends birthday in a very big and colorful room and dancing to songs like this
Leonard Cheshire......was the navigator on board the enola gay......after he so the bomb dropped he went home & started.......The Leonard Cheshire homes......how do I know this I hear you ask.......I bumped into his good friend BRIGADIER JOHN REAGAN.....MANY YEARS AGO & HE TOLD ME THE STORY
My understanding is that he was on a plane called "Big Stink", as an observer to the bombing of Nagasaki, and that he wasn't on either of the bombers that dropped the bombs.
@Gary Bradley I could be wrong.....but I'm only repeating what I was told
@paul wignall I'm not having a go at you, you can check it out on Wikipedia.
Andy McCluskey a very nice guy. I met him in a hotel about 10 years ago.
This is the better of the two songs about nuking japan. Rush’ manhattan project not as good
chooooon
play the karaoke.
OMD are part of my upbringing.... They reflected a mad part of history that many of you won't ever realise... Superb....
Freaked out today. OMD coming to New Zealand Dec 2020. Got my tickets. Tears will be welling up for sure. Been a massive fanboy since I was 14 years old. Now I'm 46 and still massive fanboy. On my way of dying a happy man.
Came here because of Roland CompuRythm CR-78
Acually Enola Gay looks pretty GAY, strangge..
Ex-machina brought me here, nice tune.
Enola KappaPride
This song played in my head every time I had a fight in school and had to deal with all those judging looks.
Learn this song in music ( y’a t’il des français )

OMD played LIVE at The Royal Antler Narrabeen on The Northern Beaches of Sydney in the mid 80's.
It was disturbingly LOUD, too loud, unbearably loud, very uncomfortably loud.
Their kind of music shouldn't be played loud, it's not Killing Joke who had people leaving The Glider Room, Dee Why Hotel because the Bass was pulverising us anatomically, it was sickeningly loud.
Some Sound Engineers are very unprofessional in thinking that extreme volume is what the Punters want. It's not. It's an OH & S situation, a health risk.
I bought the 7" vinyl in 1981 after hearing it played on JJJ Radio Sydney, Australia.
I wouldn't mind if Radio played this all the time, however, they don't, they play an OMD song that I'd rather not hear, ironic.

This is a brilliant and sad song. It's like an anti-war hymn.
A third world war will happen at 1 point in the future,we never learn from past mistakes..

I was in concert 2 days ago. It was great.
They're Not GAY , They're just British. - plus the 80's kicked ass

Jaro pedofil
Slim shady..an name to.
A beautiful video adorning a very well-produced utterly beautiful song about an indefinable occurrence. The bass is strung upside down?
He's a great frontman !
Americans have too live with this, an example could've been made in a remote area, i'm sure all the hard right of today are glad they dropped the bomb on thousands , if only they were all under it
I guess the Japanese have live with what they did attacking the Americans on Pearl Harbor. Thats what started the whole thing!!!!!
So i guess Japanese have live with fact they killed 2403 souls on Pearl Harbor in 1941. What cause America even get involved in WW2
Didn't know Neville Longbottom was an 80's Pop star.
hihi ENOLA 😂🤗
Il ressemble à Neville voilà bonne soirée.
Si tu le dis 🤷♂️😂😂
Woah! Neville Longbottom at 2:05.
I will never gonna listen this song in the same way again 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
I might be making this up but from my memory I do believe that Ian Curtis was thinking of joining OMD. Just imagine how good this great song would have been? Their style is very similar to Joy Division as well; a sort of post-war homage to austerity.
You made that up
Only crying
Love love love.
Amo muito isso!!! "this kiss you give, it's never ever gonna fade away"
