Love this man such a lovely voice so much feeling he puts into his songs.

Beautiful but so sad. Roy Orbison sang this with such emotion and heartbreak. This came out at a time of personal tragedy in his life, nobody sang Too Soon To Know like Roy Orbison, vocally perfect.
This made it to number 3 in the UK on 22 September 1966 and the UK's No.27 of 1966.

Heard this in the pub last night playing some pool with friends I’ve known my whole life and it was an incredible moment

On this day in 1968, Roy Orbison’s family home at Old Hickory Lake in Hendersonville, Tennessee, burned to the ground while Orbison was touring in England and his two sons, Roy Jr. (b. 1958) and Anthony (b. 1962), died in the fire. Orbison was no stranger to tragedy. His first wife Claudette Frady Orbison (September 5, 1941 - June 6, 1966) was killed when a truck pulled out of a side road and collided with the motorbikes that she and her husband were riding on in Gallatin, Tennessee, and she died in his arms an hour later, at just 24 years old. Roy was devastated to lose his beautiful wife and found it difficult to write any more songs, but he kept touring. The tragic lyrics and haunting melody of "Too Soon To Know", which reached #3 in the British charts just two months later, still tug at the heartstrings five decades on. It was recorded shortly after the death of his wife in motorcycle accident(June 6,1966),released 2 months after her death.2 years later he lost his sons in a house fire while he was on tour in England!!!(September 14,1968)

A song wrote when coping with such heartache...I relate...I wrote poetry when I lost my loved one tragically...this brings back sad memories for me...but regardless of that...I must say a most beautifully written song, sung by a most talented artist.

This song was written and originally performed by Don Gibson in 1958. Then Roy Orbison sang it as a lament over the loss of his wife Claudette, who died in a motorcycle accident. Roy and Claudette were motorcycle enthusiasts and were traveling together on separate bikes. She died in his arms. How tragic and very sad. Roy Orbison's sang this haunting melody with even more emotion than he usually did because of the pain he was feeling over the loss of his wife.

Roy had a lot of heart break in his life, The world to when we lost an icon.

And a couple of years later, he lost two sons in a house fire.

Urban legend once attributed this story to his song "Crying", but folks questioned the timeline. So, it turns out "It's Too Soon To Know" is the correct song. And I agree, Roy's delivery here is indelibly hauntingly sad. 10/2019

if anyone can name a more beautiful and emotional song then I would to know which one, roy orbison was a true genius and one of the greatest singer songwriters of all time, the music was all the more poignant due to the personal and tragic events in hi's life, roy lived  hi's music!!!

I would have to say a more emotional song would be, "Pretty Paper" which is also by Roy of course
