Orbison, Roy - I Fought The Law Lyrics

I'm breakin' rocks in the hot sun, I fought the law and the law won
I fought the law and the law won, I needed money 'cos I had none
I fought the law and the law won, I fought the law and the law won
I left my baby and I feel so bad, I guess my race is run
She's the best girl I ever had, I fought the law and the law won
I fought the law and the law won, I was robbing people with a six gun
I fought the law and the law won, I fought the law and the law won
I miss my baby and good fun, I Fought the law and the law won
I fought the law and the law won, I left my baby and I feel so bad
I guess my race is run, She's the best girl I ever had
I fought the law and the law won, I fought the law and the law won

Wow, i never heard this version before! Funky twist with the drums; i like it. Someone wrote snoozeville, Fullers version is better. Of course Fullers version is better but let me hear Fuller sing Crying!!!!!!!!

All I can say is that I'm glad that Mr. Orbison tried this. I'm just cruising the 'tube listening to different versions. A lot of people say the Bobby Fuller Four version is definitive... I haven't found one I didn't like yet though. Tell you what. The female backing singers here make me think that after the cops got him, somehow he he landed in a women's gaol...

The original by the Crickets is best imo... I love ROY O, but this sucks!

Beautiful version! Slightly slower than all the others, but that doesn't matter. At all. Great almost Cajun-y beat rocks it as much as any other version. Yeah!

  9. John Taylor

    Snoozeville.. Fuller's rendition is king

    Kenny Dobbins

    Roy Orbison is not boring.

    David Cooley

Bobby fuller ripped this off from the crickets of buddy holly fame

Roy Orbison could make any song his own . One of the warmest voices ever.

    Alison Grundy

Yeah but his one and only hit. Orbison was talented. The Clash version still rocks for me.

    Alison Grundy

    Fullers is a cover

I did not expect so much phasing on the drums. What a strange choice to do that on this of all songs.

Might as well be a bad azimuth adjustment on the playback tape machine.
