Opeth - The Apostle In Triumph Lyrics
In solitude I wander....
Through the vast enchanted forest
The surrounding skies are one
Torn apart by the phenomenon of lightning
Rain is pouring down my (now) shivering shoulders
The darkened oaks are my only shelter
Red leaves are blown by the wind
An ebony raven now catches my eye
Sitting in calmness
Before spreading his black wings
Reaching for the skies
In this forest
Where wolves cry their agony unto the moon
In the form of wisdom
carved on a black stone
The only way to follow
Open your soul
Redeem, I am immortal
Blinded by a light
My soul is held up in glory
I engulf the skies
The apostle in triumph
Through the eternal flame I travel
As the rain keeps falling....

7:25 damm how can i get that tone in my guitar?
13 minutes of PERFECTION!
At last you can also say " Asteroids keeps falling" \m/
Linking park ripping off opeth: 2:29 "Take everything from the inside and throw it all away
'cause I swear for the last time I won't trust myself with you"
Great song, but what a really strange set of visualisations for youtube. How odd.
What’s the guitar effect at 7:24? How does he get that sound?
Volume swells
Pretty sure that's a violin and a cello after that...
pure primal energy oozing out of this track, and album
There's something about this album that gives it a different type of beauty from Opeth's other albums... it's just a different feel that makes all of them distinct and enrapturing in their own ways.
The atmosphere of this one is unreal
No one can produce the screams and growls with clean vocals like Mikael! He sounds juat as good live too!
Dude, I wish I had Mikaels brain for a day, hell even an hour of that mans thoughts would make me happy! He's a fucking genius!
Think this is great which it is? Listen to Black Rose Immortal. Blows every other Opeth track out of the water.
Orchid and Morningrise are unique.
МАСТЕРПИЙС
Honestly my favorite Opeth song. This is so fucking badass on so many motherfucking levels. Gets me pumped.
Bu parça tam bir başyapıt! Herkesin bilmemesi daha güzel.
Orchid and Morningrise... goddamn...
I'm so glad people are still appreciating these two classics. Orchid and Morningrise are a major part of my childhood.
Their best works
easily my #1 Opeth song.
Same here
The oriental touch in 3:03 is just sooo amazing!
So beautiful. Shows where Mikael was from the beginning and is still being fleshed out today
Funny how Opeth came out kicking ass with fully realized concept and sound and now are a joke withering away
The joke is you....fooly realized.
Funny.
Obviously haven't listened to their latest
amazing job done
It might rain tonight
Awesome and powerful song!!!
Does anybody have the tab or now how to play the intro of this song??
The best song by Opeth.
Opeth's most underrated song.
Not only is Orchid my favorite album by Opeth, this is my absolute favorite Opeth song.
Brother!! Orchid is mine also.
Same, nice dude
Still don't understand the overwhelming love for his song...it sounds messy and disjointed in the same way every other song on Orchid does...
Jared Ellis pretty much all the songs on orchid and morningrise are the same way, but it’s all the incredible individual parts that make them memorable albums
I don't think this is the band for you.
It is also quite varied, atmospheric, has great riffs and takes me through a journey each time. Like others have said, probably not your type of music. To each their own.
Well it was written by a teenager and they had a metal influence back in the day. Now they have more experience and have focused on rock. They are essentially entirely different bands over a span of twenty+ years. Its just like anything past 2004 I couldn't really bother listening to.
The intro is actually REQUIEM...due to some error in the mastering process, it ended up being joined up with The Apostle in Triumph. This album and Morningrise are both in desperate need of a remaster, and when it happens, I hope they give Requiem it's own track like it deserves.
Jared Ellis they don’t need to be remastered. They sound good for what they were trying to do at the time
I’ve come to accept Requiem as part of The Apostle in Triumph lol
Underappreciated song. Opeth is marvelous.
You could really hear Opeth's pontential in this album.
Why is this song so freaking great?!
Por que es unica. Espero que el dia de mi funeral, la toquen!!
not only the song is so great, the entire album is a masterpiece too

Rain is pouring down my now shivering shoulders
In the rain my tears are forever lost
The darkened oaks are my only shelter

In this forest
Where wolves cry their agony unto the moon

I love you
@Cyrus Van Beethoven I love you too, son
Thank u bro
The final growl is epic
6:40 feel it! /,,/
03:47 dünyanın en güzel çığlığı
Aslında scream değil de growl ama nasıl bir çevirisi var bilmiyorun :(
this is... mythological. remember forever.
I love how this song goes in so many different directions.
moviemetalhead like every Opeth song ?
It was the style of old school Opeth
2:30 seconds!
maybe their best song.
Mariachiara Valentini every Opeth song is someone's favorite Opeth song.
@Chris Cueva facts. mine is the moor
@Chris Cueva hahahaha that's so true, almost in every Opeth video I see a comment like this
Definetely my favorite album!!!
Their best!!!!!
oh fuck
That last solo is orgasm
Absolutely!
eargasm*
Im pretty sure that was part of the 3 minutes rehersal tape Mikael sent out to get the band signed. So that Solo section is the reason we have Opeth!
The real heterosexual Opeth
the first part of the song is the coolest thing in my opinion^^
Agree, I love the intro, it's fucking awesome.
I couldn't agree more 😁
Wikipedia fact: It's actually the ending of the instrumental track "Requiem". By mistake, it got included at the begining of this song.
lucadiatk666 original source?
Hey! This band... Opeth, whatever that is, took my YouTube name. what the fuck
+ApostleInTriumph1 This song was out before youtube.
+Daniel Collette yep, just joking. been an Opeth fan since 1998.
Lol, you dumbass.
The way Mikael's final growls trail off is great. That snarl is something you really don't hear in other Opeth songs. This song is a very fitting ending to the album.
"as the rain keeps falling...." the best
+MelindaHatebreeder I used to say it like, "ass-ta rain keeps faaah-ohhhhh"
His Swedish accent is so cute, another example: Black rosss immortal
amazing song
sen dünyanın en güzel şarkısısın
Dante Lipschits evet
one of the best
I love Opeth
Can't believe this is twenty years old now! I feel old. And it's still as powerful as ever. Towards the end the music actually SOUNDS like a storm.
@NecroBourgeois fucking yes
@NecroBourgeois I think ı'm unlucky because I should listen it before ! it sounds fuckin' awesome
The first part is the end of Requiem song...
@loutiscrive No it's the start of TAIT, Requiem ends and this is the next track
@JoRdOguitarman1 Actually if you look it up.
"However, the band regretted not having enough time to record the acoustic piece "Requiem". The song was first recorded at Unisound, but the band was unhappy with the result. "Requiem" was then recorded in a studio in Stockholm with Pontus Norgren acting as co-producer.[6] Due to a mix-up in Orchid's mastering process, the end of "Requiem" was placed at the beginning of "The Apostle in Triumph".'
@JoRdOguitarman1
Either way it doesn't matter. Opeth is the shit!
@Steven Ramseyer Maybe you should have put that in your comment then seen as most people wouldn't know that.
The imperfection of this album is what makes it so beautiful and memorable. Even after 24 long years it feels so fresh like it was out just yesterday.
Opeth4Life
Zdecydowanie jeden z lepszych albumów jakie słyszałem
ciekawe choć mam swoje ale... ;)
Zdecydowanie się zgadzam
I love the clean vocals on this track. its so fucking good
Listening to this and reading the lyrics, it's so amazing. It's like everything Opeth was destined and did become between Hearse and Deliverance, but just raw, jagged and unrefined. Soon to be 20 years old
Yeah I have the album with the whole EP as bonus tracks. You should do some videos for Hatred and Disgust one of this days \m/
Ahahah yeah Thanatos is more my fucking cup of tea. :) I've a question for you : Do you have the debut, and only, album of the New York city based Death/Doom masters Sorrow ? They should get more more recognitions for their merits.
Good work as usual (but I don't think there's need to say it everytime). Sadly I never liked Opeth
