Opeth - Hex Omega Lyrics
Two years
In your heart
One moment of doubt
Two lives
One second from now
Held him
In your arms
Your fever subside
Always safe from harm
Kept demons inside
Still you always start runnin'
Touch the light
Some way mother cried
Left us space here

Opeth Hex Omega Comments
Anybody play apex ?
Kept demons insiiiide
The outro riff is a fuck you while staring at the sky
all the "Best song ever" comments guaranteed haven't heard every song ever to confirm this, then subjective at the end anyways ;p
I don't think anyone has heard every song on the planet tho
MASTERFUL
finally a heavy opeth track without growling xo
Thiss the song we're going to send out into space so they can hear
Axe giving some truly epic fills from 5:44
99% of the world is missing out.... sad
You are not wrong
Holy fuck
For me, this is one of those great songs that I wake up with ringing in my head one day, even if I didn't hear it for a year
Everyone should listen to this masterpiece
This song is pure genius. So unorthodox in structure. The intro is absolutely hauntingly, doomishly (not a word, I know), insane. The hammering double bass, the drum rolls, and unconventional riff. The outro is pure evil too.
It's a fuckin' marvel
5:49 Holy shit
The lyrics are genius. But could anyone tell me the meaning behind the song name?
This album has so many great moments, and it's been aging like a fine wine.
that little guitar riff is soooo fucking heavy. one of the heaviest in rock history, call of ktulu heavy. they lucked onto it though judging by their other stuff.
This Song so different from the rest of the album , It's like a bridge linking between Watershed and Heritage , Hex Omega feels like it's a hint from Mikael for what to expect from the next album
good album outro
0:47 reminds me of Diablo 2 music
Opeth are brilliant as they are one of the heaviest bands but one of the softest bands out there, sometimes, paradoxically, at the same time.
My most lovely track of Opeth, 5:20 ruffles my heart.
The intro is fun to play.
21 people had a moment of doubt
Lorenzo Barichello omfg i laughed so hard XD
It's funny how this comment is 1 years old, but number hasn't increased yet, still 19
@Silpens Viscan I know, right? It's amazing
One of many Opeth masterpieces. Seriously fucking good 😍😍😍
The song that changed everything.
CAN WE STOP IDOLISING BANDS
Not this one
People are generally pretty petty.
The Opeth'riff's are fantastic
i've bought this album a flew weeks ago
This song makes me feel powerful.
definitely one of opeth's finest songs!
those drum fills at outro... Godlike
Axe rules in this song
Hex Omega and The Drapery Falls are my favorite Opeth songs.
Ive always thought they have similar beginnings
Excellent choices
Face of melinda
Its crazy the first time I saw them live I was 12ish for the 2001 Blackwater park world tour and Im 28 now and saw them last night. Those damn swedes dont age. Sounded amazing as ever, but wont forget that 2001 show with about 100 people in attendance at the tiny old fitzgeralds in houston.
Alexander Lindsey that's so beautiful.. I'm really proud of how far they've come
When we hit sixty or so we age, fucking loads, that beautiful skin we have? Yeah that goes
I used to think this song was a weaker effort...until I saw them play it live. Now I understand how wrong I was.
agreed, this song was sick as fuck live.
I go to prollt 10 to 20 concets a summer anf at least 3 to 5 every fall/winter since i was 18. Im 30 now.....never seen a better live performance by ANYONE in ANY genre. Theyre beyond talented..they're savants
Opeth is one of the best live bands I have ever seen. Went to a show of theirs right after this album came out and it was crazy good.
4:03 - 4:43 best part in my opinion.
Can you recommend me something similar please?
May I recommend OSI's "Shutdown", feat. Mikael Åkerfeldt's Storm Corrosion collaborator Steven Wilson (and that couple of ex-Dream Theater-guys), or maybe just som of Wilson's solo material.
try folklore from heritage
s3iorus listen to A Fair Judgment
Dmitry Barinov King Crimson really influenced all of these bands.
Ending brought out a tear the first time I heard it
Man, this is the worst song of the album and it's so gooooood! Best Opeth album no doubt!
Battossai3000 nope man. the weakest, not worst.
mmmmmmmm Idk, there is Heir Apparent
The best album is ghost reveries
This song and The Lotus Eater are easily the most profound on the record, in my opinion. Get into the lyrics. I talked with Mikael about this one and he was like "No one knows what that song is about." Feels like this one is secretly near and dear to him, as I'm sure many are. There's some really intense archetypal shit going on lyrically, about psyche and family and relationships in general. This album marked the turning point where Opeth's lyrics went from being mostly romanticized fantasy to being about devastating personal loss, much more psychological in nature.
Anyway this is one of my favorite
3:11 plants vs zombies?
Jesus dude comment of the year I just literally died of laughter
Sounds like I'm being sarcastic but I'm not
5 people apparently need to be hung by their testicles and flogged to death with stale spaghetti.
I fukin hate people like you man
it's up to eighteen people now. Also, GOOD GOD, WHAT IN THE GREEN HELL/LAST CARESS !?!?!?
My God, this song is a masterpiece!
Duct tape patching up the hatred. Good show
@På Vikingtog Haha Good one Sherlock !
if I ever need any internal organs removed I'll ask them to put this song in it's place, I'll be just fine!
laptop pc?
This song should have its own country to be the anthem for
Idk a country that is badass enough haha
Countries would be throwing races just to let that nation play their anthem...
The Sovereign Nation of Mikaelopolis
axe drumming on this is insane
Not really...
@Gnaeus Vatinius ok douchebag
+Opeth Jay normally online arguments about metal are way more intense
My music theory eacher in high school showed us this song for a lesson. That was six years ago. This song only got better. Lol, holy crap.
Should've been Hessian Peel IMO
Wtf theory teacher man all I had was teachers in achool
Why the fuck couldn't I grow up being shown Opeth in music class instead of Michael Jackson?
Jay Graham sounds like an awesome music theory teacher
M Luminoth that's a mood
I never thought I would like this kind of music...I absolutely love it!!!
It's for everyone
People don't get it..this music rips through time..
One of the best songs ever done by mankind.
Saw Opeth live three times, one of the best bands I've ever seen live. Probably tied with Tool in terms of how they sound live vs audio. They always have atmospheric and amazing shows.
Saw them too in Porto, Portugal I think in 2007. AMAZING!
+TheMissing8 I think Opeth (as Tool) sounds better live than in their recordings. Both are fucking great bands!
+MelindaHatebreeder that's some good shit right there, I say the progression of tool with the intensity of lamb of god. This tour was amazing though, I saw them at the glass house in Pomona California and it was like taking DMT I suppose, or an amazing dream you never want to wake up from. Ahhh Opeth :)
Best song for me off this album and hell yeah the ending is superbly done. Wish more albums started with heir apparent and finished with hex omega. Both awesome songs. Along with the rest of the album.
@blackblurable This album starts with coil. Nice try though.
@Opethfullcovers i guess my friend recorded it wrong
The ending gives me chills.
Dude when it all comes back in I fucken can't help but smile. Soooo epic it's freaking awesome
Omg same for me. That drop in the bass...it's like the end of times. Awesome awesome band. It's the reason I have tattooed on me 😁
Best outro to any album ever, such power and emotion.
Oh my gosh this song is so good.
Best song. In my life right now. The fades. With this song you lift me up then bring me down. I always feel positive after the song tho. Because of the last versus. I'm going to listen again now.
I agree, also ynqwie malmsteens "blackstar" live at budokan In 94 is very chill to listen to when stressed
This song is so underrated holy shit
JayPeneDoe I remember no liking this album now it's 1 of my favorites especially the extended version with bridge of sighs and would
Opeth Jay And Derelict Herds, that song, in my opinion, should've been on the original CD
I've seen it on the Live at Sydney. It was the song I liked the less, now it's my favourite.
whole album is. wow it's grown. you can see the beginning of the trilogy. you know what I mean. future albums
I like this song. Very peaceful for some reason tho. The lyrics are tough. Keep it up!
Love this song. You guys should come tour in the U.S.
Las Vegas. August ✊
Epic outro
