Opeth - Burden Lyrics
I, once upon a time
Carried a burden inside
I sung a last goodbye
A broken rhyme I had underlined
There's an ocean of sorrow in you
A sorrow in me
I saw a movement in their eyes
They said I no longer knew the way
I had given up the ghost
A passive mind submit to fear
And the wait for redemption at hand
Waiting to fail
If death should take me now
Count my mistakes and let me through
Whisper in my ear
You've taken more than we've received
And the ocean of sorrow is you

Ulan allahsızlar böyle şarkı yapılır mı ?? LAN BÖYLE BİR ŞEY OLABİLİR Mİ ?? Sizi İsveç'te neyle beslediler olm deli misiniz siz ? kaç yıldır hayatımı zehir etti bu şarkı
The organ part is the best part of the whole song
Non emotive and stoic as i am on daily basis, that solo at 05:00 does take me some place which my brain struggles to take me to.
My girlfriend broke up with me yesterday, even though it's a sad song this helps me.
It's killing me inside cause we both thought that we would spend our lifes toghether and it was so perfect.
Thank god for Opeth!
You have to be really fucking weird not to love this.
Midnight and I am here once again...
It's gonna be a long day.
one of the most amazing intros ive ever heard
One of the best song what i've heard
we go from ''burden''
Well, it destroyed me inside... I felt like I was seen an great friend destroyed, forgotten and burning down into darkness. I had never felt this before. There are some things that only Opeth can do to you. Amazing.
is it just me or that acoustic outro is out of tune? knowing how good these guys are, im guessing they did it intentionally? (if it indeed out of tune)
awesome
imo epitaph king crimson inspired
Hiç Türk yok tabiki
5.12 and the afterwards, it is pure heaven omg..
Thank you Opeth.
The fact that I won't be able to listen and cry to this song at my own funeral deeply upsets me.
Terrible ending. Funny when you hear it the first time. And would be funny during a concert. But on a record? Big mistake.
Opeth has a quirk in their style that i have only ever found in 1 other band: Insomnium.
Insomnium is a melodic death metal band. (Opeth should be in the same category imo) and i have a saying that i think encapsulates them perfectly.
"Insomnium turns sadness into happiness, using sadness."
I think the exact same phrase applies quite well to Opeth.
Their music is sad, but beautiful because of it. And Opeth has quickly become one of my alltime favorite bands because of it.
And the band succeeds at making a lone wandering soul like me that much happier with my world, where other bands have failed.
Thank you Opeth. <3
That kind of happy feeling you get through expressing sadness...the word for it is called Cartharsis. If you gain some sense of joy out of something sad it is carthartic.
@The Salt In Your Cut is it? In the simple, unfocused sense as well?
I suppose i had confused catharsis with reconciliation. Thanks for that. :)
@Daniel Cannata =) welcome
love the drums!
Det er sgu for kedeligt...😜
And the ocean of sorrow is you.....
Oh my god.
Opeth bir başka.
Te amooooo, es el tema más hermoso para mi
UN EXCELENTE TEMA, UN ROBO HECHO DEL TEMAZO EPITAPH DE KING CRIMSON...
How is still listening to this in 2020?
Definitely me
I once upon a time
Carried a burden inside
Some will ask goodbye
A broken line but underlined
There's an ocean of sorrow in you
Sorrow in me
Saw movement in their eyes
Said I no longer knew the way
Given up the ghost
A passing minds and its a fear
And the wait for redemption ahead
Waiting to fade
Fading again
If death should take me now
Count my mistakes and let me through
Whisper in my ear
Taken more than we've received
And the ocean of sorrow is you
I am fucking glad that I clicked this video. This is a masterpiece.
I can't be happy but I'll make sure I don't the rest of my life in despair.
Listening to this song feels like space walking at snails pace, some million light years away from earth
The fucking keyboard solo . . .
Did the microtonal part at the end hit anyone?
Lo más hermoso que he escuchado desde el sur de Colombia un abrazo
Essa música me deixa sensualmente melancólica.
Música to make amor.
Sad sex?
2:18 air keyboard activated!
I like this entry by them the best because I don't care for the singers screaming tone in other songs, sounds obnoxious like a trumpet being played by Howard the duck
öyle solo atıyor ki biladerim canımızı yakıyor be
The saddest song in the world.
a perfect song doesnt exi-
Comfortably sad !
First second and I already love this fucking Piano. So Orchestral. Could it be that I have another band on my list of favourites?
The drums and the vocal reminds me so much of starless! A great prog song.
Fading again kısmında öbür tarafa gidip gelmeyen de ne bileyim...

this song always brings tears of emotion to my eyes...
In a world of constructed commercial music listening to something actually composed is very sobering... in a good way of course
Im gonna put this comment to mark the date I started listening to opeth
am responsible for at least 800 views on this song . who's listening in 2019
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This song makes me want to have a girlfriend.
Just to break up with her to be able to cry to this song.
Listen to Drive Home about 100 times if you want to cry a lot for no reason. Actually, listen to any clean Steven Wilson song for a good session of crying
I can assure you its worth the pain
@Diego Brujo o cara ouve opeth pra pega mulher kkkkkkkkk
Did that .. now it's fucking killing me
Zioupett LOL
holy shit
Shaun deberia deconstruir este diamante..
Reminds me of youth, wonderful and simpler times
Onstage at kreiger Castle

You don't know a burden
05:12: every fkn time
❤❤❤
isn't the lyrics "A passive mind submit to fear" ? either that or ive had it wrong for years
thought exactly the same!
Someone a hand? Love this song but i dont like the "scriming" stuff. As a tool is not bad but a full song is too much for me. Only listened to this one.
adamın amına koyan şarkılar antolojisi
sounds like mark knopfler or steroids haha
absolutely perfect for me <3
de la song de la perfecto
That intentionally dissonant playing and that mind stunningly and seamlessly metamorphosed into an ominous percussive sound laughter ending though...
I like to think of the effect as "going mad from the depression" and that musical downward spiral at the end (the dissonant playing) is like the lead-up to the "snap"
This has to be one of the greatest songs ever written and performed
Opeths in my blood....
كوبا امريكا شويخ
Correct lyrics:
I
Once upon a time
Carried a burden, inside
I sung a last goodbye
A broken rhyme I had underlined
There's an ocean of sorrow in you
Sorrow in me
Saw
Movement in their eyes
Said I no longer, knew the way
Given up the ghost
A passive mind submit to fear
And the wait for redemption at hand
Waiting to fail
Failing again
If
Death should take me now
Count my mistakes and, let me through
Whisper in my ear
You taken more than we've received
And the ocean of sorrow is you
Its honestly sad that people are so narrow-minded about this genre. It really is beautiful, well put-together art.
It is not just close mindednes, It is also complete media blackout for this kind of music. It is not advertised in the mainstreem, it is not played in the social places and even people who listen to it in most cases keep it to themselves and not share it around much.
esta musica es simplemente genial! muchas gracias!!!
I didn’t expect him to have a good singing voice in English
くら_おさ.める_かく.れる蔵 singing in most languages sounds completely different from an accent because singing notes aren’t really affected by your accent otherwise it wouldn’t sound like singing.
4:57 to 5:01; it heals

Dear God,

Dear God. Just, I'm done. Thanks.
wow it's been 10 years....
This is the first time I hear this song. I'm crying. So beautiful. I'm falling in love with Opeth
this track makes me hate the word 'hate'
1st time hearing this! Wowwwee
This song is a killer on many levels! Tears of grief, joy, etc
People who disliked are stupid af
What is this beauty ? 😭❤️❤️❤️❤️🔥
I don't think words can express what this song is, I'm going to use emojis !!!
whats up with the offkey playing?
Garbage.
Fucking beautiful
love this song <3
I have imagined the ending being recorded: one guitarist is playing whilst the other is detuning it at the same time. Then comes in that evil laugh. Think it's the way they done it.
Being depressed at night as a teen is so deep and cool. Now I'm just old, can't stay up late and depressed all the time, not nearly as cool.
I just heard this for the first time EPIC!!
music is sad like my life...
🖤🖤🖤
That outro is terrifying, but this song is amazing nonetheless.
Sublime..
Used to see the opeth gigs lots in London. One very good one was Round house tapes ,London MANY YEARS ago! Very memorable. Best EVER venue tho, was Brookes uni. Venue the size of a living room! And this was YRS ago! Oh i loved Akerfeldt and lindgren, and the two martins.. Great line up.i believe like most bands, have changed now. One grand thing also about the 'peth are their 18min tracks. That's two trax on one album then 😋.
It's got that same magic.....Like early Genesis.
Why do they remove it from spotify?
Burda neden türk yok
