The lyrics are just pure love, that kind of love we usually never hear on songs, is soooo pure, a love you don't ask anything from, you just feel you wanna keep loving this person, even if he's not here anymore, even if he's not gonna answer, it doesn't matter because pure love is like that, of course Jonghyun loved his 4 brothers so much and they will love him forever too.

It's annoying how majority of the comments here are crying over Jonghyun because some staff spoke out of turn. Very few people in the comments have commented how well Jinki did with the song writing. How good his singing is or even just how good the song is. It's really annoying how even in his solo album he can't get the undivided attention he deserves. It's his solo for petessake.

This SM employee post about twice or BTS's song as well and also write comments and they aren't from the same company...he isn't following onew and doesn't work with shinee. I can see how this song is for Jonghyun because he starts off by singing “you are the light on my head, together with the stars floating over there, you see me”. He sings about the moon again later with “that moon that’s floating with the stars, gave it all to me”. He also mentions blue wind. Moon and blue both are big symbolisms of Jonghyun in the fandom. This is a sweet melancholy song that I love!

But there are lines that contradict this, such as "Your lips that are unbelievably red, hair that is blowing lovely in the blue wind". These lines hint that this song is simply a love song, not a song dedicated to Jonghyun.

This is just my opinion, though.

but « onyu hagae aeyo » is translated to « i’ll shine on you » tho? he said it himself during his documentary

I've seen an alternate translation of this song, and it's more or less the same, so we can't really say that it's inaccurate.

The references to the moon and stars are definitely Jonghyun. He may have written the lyrics to be taken either way, could also be about a lover. Korean society makes it difficult to be out right and call a spade a spade in cases like this. The way he sang this song also made it pretty obvious to me. Out of all the songs on his album, he really sang this one with so much love.

the "your lips are unbelievably red" maybe because when you die your lips are supposed to lose a bit of their color and the wind is when they open the coffin I see it in that way like if he just wrote this song in front of Jjong's coffin it looks like all his thoughts are on a paper and well.. yep it fucking hurts

when i listened to the whole album once it came out, this song became my favourite. I just loved the melody immediately, so so much, esp 1:02 which gives me such melancholic feelings.
then i read that it was this song that Onew wrote for Jong so i came to read the lyrics and.. It caught me by surprise, that it made my cry my heart out till my eyes got red and painful.
