Underrated tune, for sure. I was in high school in mid TN when this happened. Turbulent times, lots of men trying to level the playing field spilled their blood and gave their lives. The world is 10x more corrupt now than then.

Right because we elected an African American President all is on equal footing now? Not even close. Just look at the war on drugs. Our commercial prisons are full of African Americans incarcerated for trivial amounts of marijuana possession. The systemic racism in the war on drugs is also obvious in how we prosecute crack vs cocaine. Want more? Look at examples of laws like the one in NY where a police officer can just frisk anyone that looks suspicious...well guess who looks suspicious.
