I highly doubt that i would work if i wasn't getting paid for it . True Fans of any Band should bypass Download links and buy their CD or as i do , buy the Vinyl . Better sound, you have something tangible and your supporting their ability to make a living off their music . But like most anyone . It's nice to try before you buy .

It's so annoying when bands or fans alike can't understand that downloads are not in any way representative of a loss of sales. Like, if you actually think about it for more than a second. The people getting it for free are additional fans that can come to the shows and still potentially buy merch.


And all the idiots being like 'oh well I support the band buy buying the merch', all you are effectively saying is that you can afford it.. good for you! I like a million bands, cannot obviously afford every album. Therefore I have to be selective, which means download every album, but buy the special ones that are worth it to me.


People arn't buying your album as much as other artists? well maybe it just isn't as valuable to the individual spending the dosh. Deal with it.

I’ve listened to the oh sees forever, I’m broke most of the time and haven’t been able to buy any hard copies of their stuff. However I do share their music as often as possible and have helped them score quite a few fans, some of whom did buy vinyl or merch or albums. I try to buy the album when I can got most bands that don’t get the attention they deserve, but it doesn’t always happen. I have however, seen them in concert 11 times, and the people I spread the word to also bought tickets to multiple shows. A few of them were free shows, Dwyer is known for doing a lot of free shows because he understands restrictions and just truly loves the musical experience. Your “true fan” statement is total snobby bullshit, anyone can see plain as day your words flow from your ego. I’m sure you’re a fine person but until you come to terms with letting go of your ego you won’t feel the true essence of musical vibrations, not in a purely honest way. Clearly the music being available led to income for them in a variety of ways in my personal instance alone. So I’m sorry, I really don’t want this to be rude but your words are ignorant, your narrow viewpoint fails to see the whole truth yet you felt the need to announce it anyway for what I can only assume is some sort of attempt at self-gratification, to feel so superior or to get a buzz from looking down on others, even if it is subconscious and you don’t fully realize it.
Sorry if I got heavy man, but you aren’t spreading the true purpose and feelings behind what music truly is with that kind of outlook and it can become poisonous if other people follow your example. That’s why I felt the need to shut it down. Not to be mean even if in my passion I came off as frank and probably a dick. However, you’re surely capable of looking at yourself honestly and moving past it. I can tell you’re probably a reasonably intelligent guy and I’m led to believe you’ve got good taste. Once you do that you’ll feel the glow of introspective epiphany, critical thinking of the self that can open new doors of this existence you didn’t even know were there. Positivity.
