Offspring, The - Change The World Lyrics
I see the way the salesmen stare into the sun
I stood and watched them as they fell off one by one
And everyone's so blind
They're not to help mankind
Reach into your bag of tricks and pull another one
Like you say
You're in it for yourself
No one else
You're ready
Saving yourself
You're gonna change the world
You're ready
Saving yourself
You're gonna change the world
Now when the day is set they'll line up all the same
The ones you call your friends
Are failing you again
Reach into your bag of tricks and make it go away
You don't want to change the world
Like you say
You're in it for yourself
No one else
You're ready
Saving yourself
You're gonna change the world
You're ready
Saving yourself
You're gonna change the world
And since you ain't what you say
Then just go away
Cause some don't lie
Some don't lie
Go on now they won't tell
Go on now and save yourself

I think you guys should try heavy-metal. Kiss my ass!! Ahh hahaha...
Is this not the same guitar riff during the intro as the one on the song “genocide” on the album “smash”?
It is the same guitar riff that plays after the song "Smash"
@Francois van Niekerk yeah i went back and listened. Its on both. its the exact same after smash and its the same melody on genocide but at a faster tempo. They just really liked that riff apparently. so do i though
What a riff, one of the best ever...
I'm always talking about and listening to the Smash Album.. I almost forgetted how good is the ixnay in the hombre.
of course you realise this means war
Hey hey hey.
Come on over and have sone fun with craaaaaaazy taxi
woke up with this awesome song in my head.. and since you aint what you say, then just go away. some don't lie
Both of my older brothers passed away within the past several months. They both loved the Offspring so much. The one who died second was planning g on going to Rocky mountain Rock fest in VA but didn't make it, only by two weeks. They were the best people I knew and they liked to preach the messages offspring and other punk bands spread in their lyrics.
Well kid, it's all over. America is done, demographically. White America is toast. Sorry.
i know its just a formulae but it doesnt sound like a farce. its interesting to watch the offspring go thru the full evolution in their style, they did a lot for "punk."
genocide pt II
Hey Hey Hey are you ready!? It's time for some Crazy Taxi!!

My Adolescence....nostalgia 😥😢
There's a lot of honesty in this song.
You’ve got 10 crazy minutes
HEY HEY COME ON OVER LET'S HAVE SOME FUN WITH CRAZY TAXI!!!!!

CHANGE THE WORLD
2:54 Is Love 3:00 Is Life
Hey, hey, come on over and have some fun with Crazy Taxi!
Old Offspring is so cool!!👏👏👏
New is sux -_-
the riff is the same as with genocide! that's so cool, because that riff made me fall in love with the offspring when I was like 11.
Sound track of the great time of my life. THANKS A LOT!
Offspring охуенная группа. Привет из Крыма
You got 10 Crazy Minutes.
The Offspring have a song called "Change the World" which
begins, "I see the way the salesmen stare into the sun." But for the
longest time I thought it was, "I see the weather salesman stare into
the sun." And I thought, a weather salesman! That's a cool idea!
Then, when I discovered that wasn't the line at all, I figured I'd
keep an eye out for a place to stick a weather salesman into a story.
Photopia had a place for him, and there you have it.
I love the base
Still love this song
Crazy taxi
вроде норм
*Crazy Taxi* 🚕🚖
This one might be my favorite..
Pick your car and driver!
wait, is this song about multi level marketing?
Amo el principio
why the intro make me think to "Just like heaven" from the Cure?
best song off ixnay of the hombre
ОЧЕНЬ КРУТО ! ! !
Arcade or Original maps?
2 minutes of silence just so they could put a jumpscare at the end, now they're definetely my favorite band
it's awesome how this song re-uses the melody of "genocide", but with different kind of distortion and in a different key
I though Genocide was not a song they actually gave one single fuck about it, but boy was I wrong
i think this song was written by a phan of the Phantom Thieves of Heart
Save yourself
Here's an apparently unpopular opinion.
I love every Offspring album. From the self titled one all the way to Days Go By. I personally don't see why people say they got worse after this. Yes, songs like Pretty Fly and Why Don’t You Get A Job? are poppier, and they changed their style a bit, but they kept the same great writing and instrumentation. While I love their earlier stuff, I still love Americana, Conspiracy of One, Splinter, RAFRAG, and Days Go By.
Smash got me hooked but everything else they made is pretty awesome to me too.
TheDeckinator here's the thing, shut the fuck up
Conspiracy of One, Splinter, RAFRAG are definitely the definition of dope albums.
Probably cuz u b dumb
@TheDeckinator Most people don't even realize what 'the system' is.
Crazy taxi <3 :D
Sadly, the lyrics are as or more true today than it was in 97
h2oceann so is the song Americana!
It wasn't made in 97', so not sure what the fuck you mean by that.
*click, click, click, distorted engine ignition sound*
Amazing song closing the last A+ Offspring album. The lyrics are really heartfelt too and I so agree with them. Fuck liars/compulsive liars/psychopaths/95% politicians.
This song is relevant, as the Pizzagate scandal unfolds...
Every body is here talking about when they were young and I'm just here as a 14 year old listening to his favorite song from his favorite band. Fuck all that shitty ass rap they make these days it sucks
You're 14. You were born during "these days." The music you hate now will be the music you feel nostalgic for 15 years from now.
@SaltpeterTaffy i doubt i'd be nostalgic about bad rap, unless you mean this song and band then i'd feel nostalgic
Just you wait. :D You're gonna miss Nicki Minaj once the bad music of ten years from now comes out.
sick intro... long live the OFFSPRING!
It was used when selecting a character in Crazy Taxi aswell.
Bad Religion and Offspring blasting all day from that cabinet, sweet times.
ok thanks for the info dude!
Don't mind me just trying to make some crazy money
Lol, half of that game's soundtrack was the Offspring
FEEL THE BERN!
theblitz6794 TRUMP
Yeah It does BURN when you can't vote.
Cucked by clinton.
way to date the comments
They used the drum intro for the Crazy Taxi menus.
hell yeah thos games had a bad ass soundtrack.
And they used the full song for Crazy Taxi Tycoon
@Sergio Castro So bad my computer has a broken speaker the music sounds washy
Yeahhhh I thought so!!!!
My teenage hood!!
0:51 - 1:01 at 1.25 speed sounds almost identical to Genocide
hahaha...it's my fave Riff so iKnew but hehehehe
If you actually listen from Ignition all the way to Conspiracy of One, you can still hear their distinct sound that is this riff basically.
easter egg
Pretty sure Mota uses the same chord progression but different inversions maybe? They do use it a lot!
I actually thought about this at my work today
dance fucker dance oops wrong song.........change the world
I almost expect criticism with this comment, but this song comes across to me as not so much a truth statement but the reflection of the soul on a deep matter of wanting this planet to be not the way it is. Whether it be in a person or by you yourself in questioning the original intentions in a perceived or learned expectation in this day by day life we live... the hidden statement at the end for comic relief on a deep subject.
most of the offspring's songs are deep as shit, they are sarcastic so most people don't notice
a good critique of the recent left-winger kiddos hellbent on "changing the world" while they can't even wake up before 10AM
Well said my friends. Grew up in Cypress CA
can someone explain, where's the old version of the offspring
they're disappear
change to somthing different band right?
rise fall rage and grace was good
+john lydon Nah man, they just changed to keep viable. This is there pre-sell out phase. It started with Pretty Fly for a white guy. That song took down the road that there is no coming back. They have dropped some hits, but nothing as good as Ixnay, Smash and Ignition.
How is this "pre-sellout"? Ixnay was their first album recorded for Columbia Records, so if they "sold-out" anywhere in their career, its exactly on this album. It just wasn't good enough for mass-media to sell worldwide. And if writing a song that many people like is the definition of a "sell-out" for you, then they "sold-out" with Smash and 'Self Esteem', which was a big big song. I guess every band/artist who achieve some success and you can see him somewhere else than in an underground true-super-duper-punk TV is a sellout :x people like you can't accept that artists, just like regular people are just PEOPLE, they change, try different things and routes. And as a reward they get bunch of ignorants like you who call them a sellouts if they don't play punk in some shitty pub for the rest of their lives...
@dahellish I think they mean this is the last album because Americana was all pop oriented, they sold out of their punk roots, and went towards alternative punk-pop
can someone explain, where's the old version of the offspring
they're disappear
change to somthing different band right?
+john lydon they were like 30 when they released ixnay.. now they`re like 50.
legal esse vídeo
Is this Mr Chi Pig on the end speaking?
What's he singing at the very end? "Sir, don't lie"? Wacky as hell.
+Vladimir Kabanov
"Some don't lie"
Sam, don't lie! :D Jk
Hey Hey, come on over and have some fun with Crazy Taxi!
Ya Ya Ya Ya Ya
Day after day your home life's a wreck
The powers that be just
Breathe down your neck
You get no respect
You get no relief
You gotta speak up
And yell out your piece
So back off your rules
Back off your jive
Cause I'm sick of not living
To stay alive
Leave me alone
I'm not asking a lot
I just don't want to be controlled
That's all I want
Wait? Wrong song?
There is a chain that's never broken
You know the story it's sad but true
An angry man gets drunk and beats his kids
The same old way his drunken father did
What comes around well it goes around
Nothing changes cause it's all the same
The world you get's the one you give away
It all just happens again
Way down the line
No? Then what's the song?
Not Darude Sandstorm lol
+XDlightful lol that game brings back memories, it was amazing !
It's party time, let's have some fun!
@TheRealCoolblue Go ahead and pick your car and driver
@TheRealCoolblue You have ten crazy minutes!
he-he-hey, you go in the wrong way! FOLLOW THE ARROW
Crazy Taxi!!!
Man, i have had so many good times as a kid listening to this stuff, camping up the bush with my mates, riding motorbikes, smoking cones, and drinking beers.
Whoa smokin cones? You aren't fucking cool, dipshit.
@Jari raw cones you idiot look it up if you don't know what it is
i have the same souvenirs thanks to this music. Camping and riding motorbikes , good times
Good times
Smoking cones...lol
FYI: It took them 20 years to write this song, they would put their progress on each album and finished it with this. They never knew how to end the intro sequence. The other band where you can hear this same evolution (no joke) is GWAR's A Short History of The End of The World. Exact same situation.
..20 years? This song came out in 1997 on Ixnay on the Hombre (their 4th album). They formed in their earliest stages in 1986, 11 years before this. They released their first album in 1989 and the only album with a piece close to this is Smash, their previous album. No clue where you got 20 years from. Besides the intro the song is pretty rudimentary too
omg I love this song
most epic punk song next to Genocide. Miss the old true Offspring from the 80's/90's ....
@Simon B. They're horrible now. They were punk for Self Titled and Ignition, then Punk Rock for Smash, Ixnay, and Americana. Then they kind of became Rock Punk for Conspiracy and Splinter, which was certainly a change, but I still liked it. Then for Rise and Fall, they became Pop Rock, and it sucked dick. I don't even know what Days Go By is, but man, is it awful.
they were the offspring for ignition, then they were the offspring for smash, then they were the offspring for ixnay, then they were the offspring for americana.....im glad u know ur rock categories so well.....I would doubt you, but the capitalization shows u r an expert...
@Nik Kuhnle i dig their most recent song tho. sorta has an old school vibe to it
Like if Crazy Taxi sent you here.
So sad...
@Ivo Kolak why sad?
