Of Montreal - Lysergic Bliss Lyrics
Wearing an olive drab
but feeling somehow inside opalescent
Wonder how I'm managing to smile oh
when I can't even pay my rent
Maybe it's because I've finally found
Funny how in spite of all my woes
life can appear rosy and clear
rosy and clear
And I'm dizzy from her kiss
so vertiginous lost in lysergic bliss
(Because it hurts me so bad)
Love the way you wear your curly hair
Love the way it falls about your face
mercurially gilded by the sun
If we were a pair of jigsaw puzzle pieces
we would connect so perfectly
Creating a still photo of a scene
from the Phantom of Libertay~
of Libertay~
And I'm dizzy from her kiss
so vertiginous lost in lysergic bliss
[Woman's whisper:] Okay children, remember your breathing. One, two, three, four

Of Montreal Lysergic Bliss Comments
I googled discconec the dots against Steve Jobs word cause f the past , and I come to here this JAM FIREEEEE
This is similar to a lot of the music by Feed Me Jack. Interesting
Ate three hits with my friend on independence day and sometime after the fireworks a beautiful lightning storm rolled in at which point i heard this song for the first time. Splendid on all measures.
Aquí esta el comentario en español qué buscabas uwu ❤️

Remember your breathing
my friend told me to listen to this song and it slaps
timeless sound
I love that part at 2:04
i love the song bliss of montreal by lysergic
Beautiful
People commenting only about LSD makes me sad. Wtf. This song is very original and beautiful. If you wanna listen to some sh*t while smoking listen to Gangnam Style. Because Of Montreal is a great band.
pralevers i know this is two months old but you know this song is about lsd right
what are even talking about? this song is literally about LSD and Of Montreal is obviously a heavily drug-influenced band... also, LSD isn't smoked.
Wonderful and incredible album
It’s like the love child of The Beach Boys, The Beatles and The Zombies
are they're any bands that have the sound of the back half of this song? if I shut my eyes, even sober, its like I'm there
ive had a few dabs, and the moment 2:31, all i wanted was some cid to sink depeer in. the weed is good, but lucy loves with such intensity and passion
Some serious Beatles vibes off this!
Who else loves lucy ;)
Lucy was a good friend to me :)
+A55455In47I0n me too (: she's always there for me XD
@cz productions
"Dizzy from her kiss"
Sends shivers down my spine man haha
Gorgeous eargasm
This a pleasant song.
this song was the catalyst
"watch as the music will complete the change in you"
Just used this song in my video!! :)
Rediscovering great songs...Thanks OM!
Too much nostalgia T_T
Octobers..
He was so much happier back then it seems
Thx to LSD tho
This song is about Nina :-) or if you've ever been in love with a girl with beautiful curly hair, mercurially gilded.... :-)
These guys got alot of inspiration from the sparks I think
I could see that
kevin's falsetto sounds a lot like russell mael's sometimes, lol. the "it hurts so bad" part in this song is one example
heard this song, and straight up bought the album. What I've been missing out...I love the mid-way vocals, reminds me of Beach Boys or even a tad of Bohemian Rhapsody...and then the ending evokes a shade of Manzarek...good stuff!
That is exactly what I was thinking! Beach Boys meets Queen, and I LOVE IT!
+Rodrigo Ma Buy Hissing Fauna and Lousy with Sylvanbriar too - they are also mind blowing albums … Kevin Graham is a certifiable musical genius… love Gay Parade too… there is a lot of great OM LP's
+Austine Davis If you like BB - check out Vows - Soon enough Love

"love the way you wear your curly hair sanguine and spiraling and tied in a bun!
love the way it falls about your face!" :-))))) <3
hahahaha
HAHAHAHAHAHA' Epic comment, you sir just made my day xD
wutevuh nigga,shit..
Okay, Children, remember your breathing: 1, 2, 3, 4...
this is really cool, the vocal sections sound a lot like the beach boys, whom i love, and the whole song has a really nice 60s psychedelia sound to it. really great and varied instrumentation
mmm lysergic acid diethylamide
i love this ac!d
This takes me back to my first acid trip, for sure. That state of mind where nothing makes sense yet everything makes sense.
The good thing about the part at 2:36 is that I can "ba ba ba" in any manner and it'll sound like I'm singing along.
@wigwambam
i love this cid
Fucking awesome. Wish I heard about these guys earlier in me life.
More cow bell.
@leppelinzed This should have a millions fluorescent thumbs up already.
@Sh3llyl0sth3rm1nd that is the best part
"Love the way you wear your curly hair; sanguine and spiraling, tied in a bun.
Love the way it falls about your face, mercurially gilded by the sun."
One of the most romantic lines, I have ever read, ever!
"Love the way you wear your curly hair
sanguine and spiraling tied in a bun
Love the way it falls about your face
mercurially gilded by the sun
If we were a pair of jigsaw puzzle pieces
we would connect so perfectly"
Kevin Barnes can give a song so much of a party feel and still have lyrics that wrench your hear and create some wild imagery. I love it so much.
It has those Christmas sleigh bells at the beginning.
lyricS??
only 36k views?!?!?! UNACCEPTABLE!
Why would you critic people using this as Christmas music, it's their choice, and personally I can see how this has a little cosy sound to it.
@SgtSoprano It kind of has the flavor of White Christmas by the Drifters mixed with Jingle Bell Rock. If you disagree, just blame it on lysergic logic ;)
I remember listening to this song on LSD at the edge of a forest on top of a huge hill overlooking a massive lake at sunrise.
@ouranhighbebe
Yup, in a interview with Kevin in 2004 about the album he said "Well, there are some songs on the new record that I wrote for Nina, my wife, that are just love songs. "Your Magic is Working," "Lysergic Bliss," also "Climb the Ladder." "
This song makes me childlike....
@XreverseXanielmX it's the sleigh bells in the beginning and the pep that later ensues and then the tamborine, actually it's just everything that, every element that adds on to eachother. the jangly guitar. the sweet vocals.
2:32 - 3:26, BEST THING EVER
i love this cd
i hate when things get really repetitive.
come on after 2:43 you know they just repeat blather. BUT when they play this song live its just epic and they dont play that part too long only about 20 seconds which is perfect.
i like the song until around 2:43 it always make me change the song. I like live better because they cut the bullshit after 2:43
at the beginning it sounds like he is saying moonshine
good lord
yeah top 1/3 christmas songs. i agree. my favorite part is when he starts singing jingle bells in the middle of the song
your soo right, couldnt have said it better myself!!
hahahahahahahaha
Christmas Music? In what tradition. If anything, I'd say it has a little bit of a 1960s pop sound mixed with LSD, served with a sprig of mint. Or something like that. 60s and drugs. No religious holidays. That you just get it is the point.
