Of Montreal - Chaos Arpeggiating Lyrics
Mountain City yellows they're not on the grounds they're in the wall
This loneliness is so distracting I'm barely missing you at all
Will I survive the Easter in this sloughy womb of noxious isolation?
No I can feel the sabers now in my illusionary casket
Now your charming little virus is getting all your attention
As I drag my chair up to the window to absorb some solar lashings
It's your saint's name day tomorrow but last year's paper wasps they are not living anymore
Why should I be scorned like some catalyst for famines when it's me who's been exiled in apartments?
Oh must I always be chaos arpeggiating?
Mountain City yellows I see them glitching through the floor
The minotaur of self abuse can't pick himself up anymore
Your last violent freak out was a eulogy to us
I was truly touched that you still cared enough to throw psychotic fits
And now I'm sparring with the no one, the void, the vacuum of conscience
As I mine the rust of my celebrity with snarls and mock laughter
I have the sense that you're wanting me to chase you
But what's the point? we can't be together without starting a row

Dude,Kevin breathes fire on this track.
new of montreal takes a minute to sink in sometimes, it's really nuanced. But this is my favorite track so far
I listen to this whole album almost every day since the day it came out
I don't get this fucking band, too noisey!
Holy fuck every track Ive listened to on this album has been bomb. OM had a bit of a slump, but goddamn they are in prime form here on all fronts. The funky infectious and invigorating music, Kevin's special and amazing brand of lyrics with that trademark beautiful and stylish flair layered over everything. What a gift to mankind. Keep it real Kevin
That’s actually cool though. This was abject to me last year. Mr. Adventure Cowboy taking poison from trucks to jail. I see that it’s only a geography of identity, becoming clear as I attempt to tackle clarity in everything I do.
fall out boy stole 🙃
Got dang! They still got it. You the man, Kev
i got the pleasure of seeing this song performed acoustic before it came out on the album. It was beautiful then, and it was beautiful when i saw it performed on the lets relate tour. amazzzzinnngg
I don't listen to this band but I saw Anthony whoretano practically praise this track and I've fallen in love with it.
Either you don't know Of Mont or they are your fav band.
Of Montreal always gives me a hardon. Almost always
you have a mother somewhere who is just cringing
@ijustlovetea Lol does anyone act normally around their parents? I'd never tell her I have a music fetish but I'm sure she'd approve compared to other things she knows
I don't understand anyone who doesn't have an of Montreal fetish. Almost always
it gives kevin one as well lol, watch their live performance of "the past is a grotesque animal" on npr
Probably my favorite track on the album. Too soon to tell.
i love the part with the lower register singing in this one! not to say it isn't a brilliant tune all together.
