Of Montreal - Baby Lyrics
I'm so glad I have you to think of,
To channel all my loving energy into.
Even though my feelings aren't returned,
And in time I won't think about you this way,
If just for now, wishing we were each other's baby.
I feel these emotions for you still I know
There's no way that you're the person
I imagine you to be
I don't know if it was chance,
or if this happened by fate.
I don't expect you to feel the same,
But if you did, well that would be great.
Minutes can make memories that last a life time.
I distort my minutes of beauty
into something that they're not.
These things don't stop me,
If just for now, wishing we were each other's baby.

god do I love him.
I just realized the beginning "ahh"s and the title might be a reference to "Don't Worry Baby" by Beach Boyz

superior version
They don't sound alike, but they have similar qualities about them.
i just call it good! & the bands you named don't all sound alike.... they used to be called indie because they were on independent labels, but now that doesn't apply to any of those bands except maybe bright eyes since they are on an indie label right now as far as i know...i don't listen to them anymore....
What do you call this kind of music. Like Eels, Beck, Flaming Lips, Bright Eyes. Is it anti-folk, lo-fi, indie, punk, what????!
This song makes me cry every time I hear it. Kevin Barnes is a fucking genius, and this is my favorite song off of my favorite album and If this song didn't exist, neither would I. Thanks for the upload!
his music just improves improves improves all day long all day strong.
This is from the original release of the album. The sped up version was on the reissued 1999 version, which is the version you all seem to have.
@timothyahall i think this is from the demo recording of the album. it's been doing the rounds on the internet for quite a long time. i prefer its version of "don't ask me to explain".
@TbTReviews It's a completely different version than the one on my CD of Cherry Peel.
@billyg89 they sound great! They are so beatles that's why.
@blue0eyed0pianist they're so incredible! i've been listening to them as much as i do the beatles.
