Of Monsters And Men - Stuck In Gravity Lyrics

I'm stuck in gravity
I'm far from where I wanna be
I'm like a raindrop in the ocean
I get lost in my delusional reality

I don't know up from down
Or when my feet are on the ground
I've been around for thirty years
It's kind of hard to think about your own mortality

And this high, high love
That you give to me
Is all I'm missing
It's all I'm missing

And this high, high love
That you give to me
Is dripping down my hands like honey
It's all I'm missing

I'm stuck in gravity
I'm clawing for some bravery
I try to be still in a moment
And I'm hoping for a never ending odyssey

I don't know high from low
Or when I should be letting go
It's like I'm anchored to the floor
And I need more, I need stars to light the colony

And this high, high love
That you give to me
Is all I'm missing
It's all I'm missing

And this high, high love
That you give to me
Is dripping down my hands like honey
It's all I'm missing

So give me something good
Just give me something good

Staring out the window
Looking at the rainfall
Hoping for the starlight
Head is still an animal
[x4]

Head is still an animal

  4. Brian Berlin

I just this album today off Amazon that i ordered. This song is growing on me. I so glad I took a chance

  5. Anthony Castelluci

With all due respect to what I know this band can do, why are there so many slow ballads and mediocre musicality in this album? What I loved about your band was it was different and upbeat. Other than the 1st song, (that I loved), at this point I had to stop listening because all the songs were slow and boring. They sound too much like, "lifestyle maintenance". (Bonus points if you get the reference. Please bring back your upbeat sound.

Ok I have to understand why is everyone bitching about this album and just saying "I miss the old OMAM"? like they haven't gone anywhere...they are here..they are active and present in the industry and I have been waiting 4 fucking years for a new album and this is what I was waiting for..yes..the old sound is great...but this new more rock sound I so fucking love it

  27. FluffyFeathers

This is my favorite song ever.

  28. Anson Hartzler

I like when artists can use autotune in a way that feels artful. Not covering up bad voices. I really like the autotune in the outro of this song.

    EmoNightDragon

I agree! It also fits the theme of the song well, because it sounds more "spacey" (for lack of a better word :P )

    Naunet

Absolutely agree. It can be a great artistic tool!

  29. Geremia Gerosa

Not a fucking reference about selfies, bitches, money, spanish shits...thank god real music still exists

  30. Tommy Williams

So happy to be a fan of your musical odyssey. Many people are unhappy when there is a change to the norm they are used to, but another album of the same would be met with some calling it boring and old hat. You do you, OMAM. This album shows off vocal range and musical brilliance that displays how much you have grown as a group. We will be traveling 7 hours from Missouri to see you in Chicago, and cannot wait to see one of our favorite bands once again! Keep up the great work!

  31. danny sohilait

    Brilliant song 🎴

  32. Mr. Brightside

I just finished listening to this for the first while waiting to get sleepy and just... wow. So teary. Wonderful music.

  33. Chemical Angel

    Absolutely stunning

  34. José Alvaro de Botelho Néia

This also is a clear example of evolving musicality - way to go OMAM!

  35. Ayeisha Quinones

Are you kidding, how can anyone complain about this beautiful piece of art of album? They havent changed. They just evolved.

  36. Osvaldo Chiquesi

Where the real Of Monsters and men? Where? Where the great songs? Where the band?

    Fertty

All in this album my man

    bluerius

If you miss "the old band" just listen to the others albums. The band is still OMAM.

    Anson Hartzler

I hate when people act like just because they now have synthesizers it is no longer a real band. That just dumb.

  37. J. E.

Good song. Without voice effects this album would have been 3 times better.

  38. JpmestraoPSN

    beautiful

  39. Klaus

    Beautiful Album !!!!!!

  40. elhemoney777

The buildup in this song is exceptional. Love the ending.

  41. Jonathan Navarro Ruz

What a feelings with Raggi's voice. And the music, too. Simply amazing song!

  42. Vic

'head is still an animal' foi bem aqui que eu chorei

  43. Saul Urbina

  44. Kev Gambles

A band that NEVER makes a bad song. Beautiful as always. OMAM <3

  45. Moi Garmz

    I need Extended Version!

    Saul Urbina

Moi Garmz the ending should keep going for forever

  46. Ivan Valdez

The is by far my favorite song of this album! I'm addicted to it like I was "Crystals" in their last album.

  47. gman hirt

Most 3rd albums in a bands catalog usually drift into a experimental stage which will sometimes throw fans off a bit but it’s a natural progression for an artists creative existence,,,

  48. GIOVANNA CARLA Oliveira

I'M IN LOVE FOR THIS WORK OF ART, GREAT ALBUM GUYS ♥️♥️♥️

  49. Roland Mikelj

They lost their mysterious Scandinavian character.😡

    monzayemon

    ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

    monzayemon

They were tired of writing acoustic guitar songs and I'm glad they gave it a break, it would oversaturate them, it's always good to experiment new genres and they've done it pretty well.

    monzayemon

(I love the folk acoustic songs, don't get me wrong, MHIAA is one of my all-time favorites)

    Roland Mikelj

@monzayemon i am going to listen again and maybe i van change my mind. Thanx👍

  50. Lego4Life Productions

I think this is the best song of the new album. It sounds the closest to their first two albums. I’m still not sold on Fever Dream, but this song is good.

  51. David M

Elska það!!!!! Elska það!!!! Cheers guys! Wonderful work!

  52. BrZk ii LuNaTiC

One of the best in the album

  53. M R

This song is just ok for me until 3.12 .... then it ROCKS! Love the ending!! As Jake Peralta would say "chills, literal chills" 🤘

    Halcyon

    @Jeet Sampat Toit

  54. 1지용기원

It's like a song made by the god of music.

I support you in south Korea.

  55. Andrés A.K.A. Kactus

Esta es mágica, admito que me gusta más los dos anteriores, pero este no está mal, es diferente

  56. Matheus Ed

    real bad album

    Matheus Ed

@Matt Brian I love their first two album.

    Anson Hartzler

Just go listen to a 6ix9ine album, then come back to this album, and then realize how wrong you are. Songs like Wild Roses are perfection.

    Arky SP

@Anson Hartzler songs like King and Lionheart, Yellow Light, Crystals are perfection, no these new generic music ;)

    Anson Hartzler

Arky SP, can you actually explain why you think it’s generic beyond the fact that: it has synthesizers? Synth does not instantly make something generic.

    Matt Brian

@Matheus Ed oh I'm so sorry its just that when i did that comment i was in a bad place with everything going on in my life.💔 because back then i was going through a really bad heartbreak.😭

  57. Clara Simões

the lyrics, though ❤ head is still an animal, ever-changing yet true to their roots. love it. so much.

  58. Daniel

This track is my fav from the new album... i can't help falling in love everytime he says "head is still an animal" because it brings me so much nostalgia yet it causes me a feeling of a new beginning.

  59. Neil Running

Love Raggi..one of the most unique voices of our time...got love for ya bud..great album you guy's.

  60. Justin Rohme

By far my favorite song on the album. For those not digging the album, what exactly were you looking for? This is pure gold!

    JEC03

People can't handle change, sadly. I love the new sound honestly. It's different and I like that.

    Chocola En pupies

Adrian Rocha does OMAM use auto tune?!

    Naunet

There are a few songs that I like, but overall I felt like this album sounded... just like any other over-produced pop album. The lyrics for many of the songs don't have the layers of metaphor, folklore, and animism that drew me to OMAM's previous albums. The melodies are catchy, but half the time I feel like I'm listening to modern Taylor Swift or something. (Nothing against Swift - I actually enjoy a lot of her stuff.) I understand they wanted to do something different, but to me personally that "different" lost the soul of what really attracted me to their music. I've seen this with several artists I enjoy - for example, 30 Seconds to Mars and Fall Out Boy. Their more recent albums have become increasingly overproduced, less focused on the things that really set them apart from the crowd.

I'm not against change, and I have seen artists evolve in ways that I was still able to appreciate. Vienna Teng is a great example. Her most recent album, Inland Territory, is a huge departure from her classic piano+vocals style, but her mastery of lyrics, the depth of the stories she tells in her songs, and how deeply personal they are on multiple levels is still there. And the album doesn't sound like "just another late 2010s pop album". It's still uniquely Vienna Teng.

Sadly, I think OMAM did not quite find that sweet spot. A few songs they did - Stuck in Gravity, in particularly, IMO - but as a whole... no. :(

    Igor Obukhov

Erm... For this? And my head is an animal reference. I am bad... When I am drunk I force my friends to listen to OMAM newest songs :-)

    Michael Moore

This and "Waiting for the Snow" are my favorites off of this album.

  61. Dario Torres

    <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3

  62. Bruno Wichinheski

The best song of the album. I love the changes, people have to get over My Head Is an Animal and Beneath the Skin...

    70's Sweet

I love both their first two albums, but this one is just as amazing!

    Sylphe

My dude its HARD to get over Beneath the Skin

  63. Elixir Indigenous

This is a GREAT song! Just that something weird starts happening around 3:14

    Francesco Barrientos

that is a nice touch in production. :D

  64. Davi Medeiros

    Head is still an animal

  65. B t

    Ragnar's voice!
He added to the ~gravity of the song, it's so great

  66. Caelthar Ravenwing

    Head is still an animal,
but the body has all changed.

    For better or for worse.

    Matheus Ed

    very bad album

    Benjamin Davis

    Great album artistically their best

    Chameleon1616

    Beyond alligator, I’m not sure.

    Lego4Life Productions

    Matheus Ed
I don’t know if I would call it bad—it’s just more...average...than their first two. Their first two had a unique sound to them. This one is more mainstream pop. I personally don’t think it’s terrible (I would call it good), but it is no where near the level of their first two.

  67. neverバツwas

    head is still an animal

  68. Anson Hartzler

I could do without the *eaah* sound though.

    Jazzyt

Anson Hartzler on the contrary I think it adds more feeling to the song

  69. Carlos Abraham Vega Perea

    I love it

  70. Mr Cookie88
