Of Monsters And Men - Soothsayer Lyrics

Cool it down
The mind is a riddle you cannot solve
Cool it down
The body's a landscape of wildflower

Stay here, stay here
Stay here, I want you
And I know this can't be wasted love
Stay here, I want you

Stay here, stay here
Stay here, I need you
Please don't tell me that it's wasted love
Stay here, I need you

Sleep, I know
You haven't been dreaming, you overflow
And I still feel you around
You've become a tempo that my heart knows

Stay here, stay here
Stay here, I want you
And I know this can't be wasted love
Stay here, I want you

Stay here, stay here
Stay here, I need you
Please don't tell me that it's wasted love
Stay here, I need you

Will you see me, love
Who am I in your temple

Will you see me, love
Who am I in your temple

Stay here, stay here
Will you see me, love
Who am I in your temple
Stay here, I want you

Stay here, stay here
Will you see me, love
Who am I in your temple
Stay here, I need you

  2. B.... X....

I thought I clicked on buckethead.
    Damn it!

  3. .... ....

OMAM is the best band in the world !

  4. E.... K....

OMAM got a new vibe. A change is nice, but controversial for the people who fell in love with the old vibe.

  5. A.... ....

I found this song from playing a game and it had the word “Soothsayer” in it so I wondered what that was and I looked it up and found this song.

  6. F.... F....

I do cyber-school and I saw the word "Soothsayer" in a paragraph about the Aztecs and quickly thought about this song. Lol.

  7. A.... C....

1 out of 5 stars for this album. The first song was awesome and promising. But what followed was one slow attempt at a top 40 song after another. Mountain Sound and Little Talks made it to mainstream radio. Stick with your original formula. Except for the first track, this all sounds like you listened to someone who doesn't appreciate those songs.

  12. K.... P....

I loved this new album. Thanks OMAM! Love u all

  13. F.... L....

Saw them live last weekend in Minneapolis, they were phenomenal

  14. D.... F....

It doesn't look like the same band. It totally changed the style. The first two albums got me right. Instantly I fell in love with all the songs ... In this new album, I'm learning to like, I'm paying more attention to notice the details regarding this band. Return to Brazil ....

  15. S.... ....

    Come to Brazil 💛

  16. F.... S....

I'm gonna be honest--Wild Roses made me kinda anxious for the rest of this album on how it might be compared to their other albums. But now that I've listened to the whole thing, I realize that *this album is amazing in its own way.* Sure, I love the others for the mystic theme, but this also has it--these songs remind me a lot of Love, Love, Love, which is one of my favorites by them. Also has a touch of Your Bones, but that might just be how I'm listening to it.

  17. A.... ....

The truth of the matter is... OMAM is amazing no matter what they put out. And wait for it... we all have differing opinions. It does not mean it is BAD, it means it is not for you... Move on.

  18. J.... R....

Literally just watched this live in Denver! Lord these guys are legendary and truly amazing! Hearing them live and up close... something mesmerizing. This bad is truly my number one!!!!! Love you guys!!!

    J.... R....

Truly agree, saw them here in LA, completely agree!

  19. R.... R....

I don't know what everyone is bjtching about, but I love this album. It's absolutely incredible
    💖💖💖💖💖💖💖

    R.... R....

short answer: people hate it when artists grow and change

  20. D.... S....

This is so Roxette! I loved this album. Very creative and inspiring. 😘😘😘

  21. A.... B....

ONE OF THE MOST CONSISTENT ALBUMS OF ALL TIME! EVERY SONG IS A AMAZING!!!

    A.... B....

    big facts

  22. F.... N....

oh damned, what a cool song. this is a right monster song.

  23. D.... d....

  24. X.... A....

Excellent closer. Definitely my favourite track from the album.

  25. G.... ....

It may just be me but I really like when bands change their sounds cause it’s fun to listen to them playing around and experimenting. So over all, I love this album and all their others

  26. B.... M....

I'm sorry, but this isn't even the same band anymore. Disappointing.

    B.... M....

Sounds like all the other electronic music that I don’t like. Where are the guitars and brass? Still like the previous albums a lot but this one is NOT for me. No offense -just my take.

  27. M.... F....

  28. S.... Z....

yup, this is it, this is my favorite from the album <3

  29. J.... A....

The synth interludes sounds like ballad of william kid..

  30. e.... ....

This is one of the three songs I really dig on the album. This, Alligator, and Stuck in Gravity.

  31. E.... R....

OMAM are no Mumford and Sons, but they are a good, albeit over-produced here, band.

  32. C.... C....

    C.... C....

  33. M.... G....

This band, Aurora Asknes, and Imagine Dragons are the best. Muse's Algorithm is good too.

    M.... G....

I LOVE Aurora. So young yet so mature in her sound.

    M.... G....

    Coldplay too

  34. j.... a....

the album wasn’t that good to me personally but this song is amazing!!

  35. P.... W....

    Loved this AF

  36. B.... N....

Favorite album of 2019. Seriously good stuff. ❤️

  37. D.... M....

This will be in a upcoming James Bond movie . So well done! Amazing!

  38. M.... R....

The lyrics (as with all OMAM songs) are outstanding and so beautiful. The music is not bad, I just wouldn't listen to this type of music if it wasn't OMAM. I love a few songs from FD (Wild Roses, Under a Dome, Rororo and a couple others) but this one and Wars sound very 80's to me, not the sound that instantly drew me and I fell in love with from this band. That said I'll support them no matter what cos I love them anyway.

    M.... R....

I'm not saying I disagree, but it's an anthem song, and rock anthems were big in the 80s, so they can't exactly help the association

  39. c.... ....

My new earworm! Replacing Wild Roses but for how long? Great album, these guys are the real deal.

  40. P.... T....

It feels like they've gone back in touch with their first album, quite honestly. They just replace their acoustic guitars, brass, and accordions to be more electric. The music's texture is still dense and their lyrics always poetry on the lips. The first and third album are the best, the second felt like a detour to achieve this.

    P.... T....

Peyton T. Starkweather bruh Beneath the Skin is by far the best musical album ever. MHIAA is really good but lesser imo. FD one is worst out of the three but still a great album in it self

    P.... T....

@Wineke de Jong That is an interesting take. I suppose Beneath The Skin had a stronger emotional message in its lyrics, but My Head is an Animal is an utter fairytale that I adore

    P.... T....

Peyton T. Starkweather yea true. But when it comes down i like how grounded BTS feels. But the fairytale feel of MHIAA is also very magical. Im still not clear on the feel of this album tho. It feels kinda all over the place. I do like most songs a lot tho

  41. B.... T....

this is going to take off

Favorite song on the album. Love the eighties sound of the drum beat

  43. d.... ....

Allow the band to grow and explore. This album is still who they are. Let them play what they feel when they feel it. They’re young and very talented, let them enjoy what they do. If you are truly a fan of their work take the trip and enjoy the change in scenery from time to time. Staying in the same place doesn’t work for everyone.

    d.... ....

    Stay here, they need us

    d.... ....

At first i was scriptural strictly based on the fact the sound is very different. After listened to the whole album a bunch of time it kicks ass.... that being said.... when i go back and listen to Wintersound and We Sink..... ummm yea.

    d.... ....

    i totally agree with you

    d.... ....

@Mike S I agree completely. When I first listened, I did like it, but was disappointed because I was hoping for more of the old OMAM (who imo had a sound that's so unique amongst today's artists). The lyrics also aren't at all up to scratch of Beneath the Skin. That said, after I had my little tizz, on listening again, the album is pretty awesome in its own right.

  44. C.... C....

    Their best album yet!!!

  45. E.... D....

It sounds like Style by Taylor Swift

    E.... D....

    omg so true

i searched long for this comment good point

    E.... D....

    oh g od

  46. R.... R....

  47. P.... M....

Some of these comments are a bit harsh. Love the new CD, though production is a bit higher than previous efforts. Gotta get my fix on those voices, though.

  48. B.... A....

I don't know what to feel about this new album. The other two marked my life a lot and I am fascinated and grateful for them. I'm in love with Yellow Light, from finner, sloom, organs, Numb Bears and others. With the new album I can't feel anything and not even recognize what made me fascinated by the band, the unique style. But, I will always wish you all the success in the world and I hope one day to meet you here in Brazil🇧🇷

    B.... A....

I think the same, but we don't to wait the same sounds, for example The Lumineers are very similar to OMAM but them today are the same, we see in the new songs, but OMAM is changing, and these is more powerfull, I'm from Mexico :)

    B.... A....

@Gabriel Naim Madrigal Hernández The Lumineers is amazing<3

    B.... A....

@Paul Monk I didn't recognize it, but it's okay. What matters is the band's achievement by releasing a new album that they were looking forward to and happy to release. I'm happy and hope they grow a lot. And yes, the voices are still wonderful ^ - ^

    B.... A....

@Bella Akyra I love the lumineers. My favourite bands are OMAM, the lumineers and Daughter. They are so powerful with their music

    B.... A....

@camilo bödvardsson Daughter is perfect and reminds me OMAM

  49. x.... ....

This album is my fever dream... O.O

  50. H.... B....

    I give this album a 1000 of 10!!!

  51. G.... T....

Feeling your music is an experience. Where does it take us? they seem dreams

  52. O.... ....

    🇧🇷

  53. L.... ....

I've waited for years for this album, and after listen to it I absolutely don't know what to think about it. It isn't bad, but after Alligator and Wild Roses I had the fear that it will sound a bit overproduced for me - too much effects, not really outstanding in comparison to other bands you hear in radio today. Well, this fear sadly became true for me. The lyrics are outstanding and wonderful as used from you guys. But one thing I've always loved about you was that you didn't needed much effects to make great music. As I said, many songs on this album are good, but to be honest: If they would have come from another artist/ band, and sadly some sound like they could, and I would have listen to them in the radio, I wouldn't pay much attention to them...and it hurts like hell for me to write this. Maybe this new style is just unused for me an I will get used to it. Maybe you will stick to this style because you prefer it, wich is also okay. But for me, I miss your old style. Your first two albums where outstanding for me. This one sounded a bit to "mainstream" for me. Although the lyrics are still brilliant, the way the songs sound could have come from many other artists. Forgive me that I write this, but this is sadly the way I feel after the first time listen to this album :(

    L.... ....

@Lairely yeah, again I completely agree with you. There are some bands that, unfortunately, do that because of commercial reasons. And that's sad, sometimes.
I think that OMAM did that because they wanted to do it, this kind of genre is really, really new for them but not for me, a girl who already listens that kind of music since a long time. Well, I will wait for the next album, hoping for a music I like.

    L.... ....

@Esmeralda Lagunas Yeah, in most, nearly every point you are absolutely right :)
It is really beautiful if it's the thing they want to do, if it represents them as human beings. I'm an hobby artist myself, although I don't make music, but I know that feeling of being tired of what you're doing and what people expect you to do. So in this perspective, it was the right choice from OMAM to do what they did with Fever Dream. Even if doing what you want to do means that some people won't like it, or at least won't like it like they liked the old stuff you made. If you are tired of what you do, there is no sense in continuing doing it.
I'll definitely give the album a chance, although that style of music isn't mine. I'm thankful for a few new songs I can enjoy, even if it's not every song. Sadly, sometimes it's hard to enjoy one thing if that thing means that another thing you liked ends through that change. But who knows what the future brings :)

    L.... ....

@Felkhaos - Le pays des livres extravagants yes! Some songs have a Bon Iver vibe, like Waiting For The Snow

    L.... ....

    @Esmeralda Lagunas I completely agree !!

    L.... ....

Loved Alligator. After that, it sounded like one attempt at a slow boring pop song/ballad after another. Want to hear the energy they had in Mountain Song & Little Talks. Alligator, I thought was going to be the beginning of a heavier rock direction for them. And then it all fizzles out. It all sounds like they listened to someone who was trying to make a slow ballad top 40 hit instead of doing what they love.

  54. C.... E....

If you would listen to these songs and not look at the names, you would never know which one is which

    C.... E....

One of my heavy criticisms about it. I hope they don't turn into another Imagine Dragons. First two albums-awesome. Next two-meh.

    C.... E....

I'm sure that it'll just take time to remember which song is which in their new album. For their old albums, I often got 'Backyard', 'Human' and 'Hunger' mixed up with each other. But after listening to each song for a while, I finally got remember which was which. (Although those songs did say their title in the lyrics, so I wonder how I even got them mixed up...) Though I'm sure it just takes time!

    C.... E....

    True 🙌

    C.... E....

But Imagine Dragons is the only reason I even discovered OMAM... Both are great.

  55. G.... M....
