Ocean Colour Scene - Mrs Maylie Lyrics

It's so nice in Mrs Maylie's house
I'd spend my life in Mrs Maylie's house
Count my time counting the moon
I'd spend my life in Mrs Maylie's house
It's so nice in Mrs Maylie's house
I'd spend my life in Mrs Maylie's house
Count my time counting the moon
It's so nice in Mrs Maylie's house

Well good morning Mrs Maylie
It's so nice to wake in sunshine
Spent my short life in prison
Was my birth that was my first crime

I'd like to pick some flowers
And arrange them around your room
And I love to spend the hours
'Fore they're snatched away too soon

Well I love it in the country
And loath the London mire
And there's no one who's been kinder
In my wretched little life

Oh good morning Mrs Maylie
And your daughter seems so nice
An open heart's my saviour
And my trusting is my vice

Saturday is a great album. The band seem rejuvenated!

  3. T.... M....

i agree, he sounds a lot like john lennon in several songs. I think the whole album sounds very familiar i love it!

  4. M.... N....

Bizarrely the first song this made me think of was Simon and Garfunkel's "Fakin' it" That song breaks off in the middle and someone says good morning.

  5. J.... M....

Dizzie Miss Lizzie mixed with Blackbird by The Beatles with Mick Jagger singing? I'm sure Noel Gallagher would describe it as something like that!

  6. b.... ....

Great song reminds me of Rolling stones and The Beatles in one Mix ***** Thanks

  7. U.... ....

Were they ever away? dont think so! brilliant!

  8. h.... ....

Yes! Ocean Colour Scene are back! Am I the only one to thinks the start sounds like Everything Comes At the Right Time from 'A Hyperactive Workout...?' Great tune all the same.

Good song, don't see why a lot of fans aren't digging it at all. OCS OCS OCS!

Ocs are my favourite band ever, but this song is great just in the middle part. Reminds me of John's children and that's a good thing. The rest is a rehearsal nonsense, better than anything on top hitlists today, but not so impressive
