Could someone explain to me the true meaning of the song?

As people have mentioned before, the song is most likely a reference to the band Sister Lover. Plus if you look at songs like The Stone Roses’ song Sugar Spun Sister (“The candy floss girl/The sticky fingered boy/Oh that sister of mine”) no one really associates the song with incest. It’s pretty common to call people you have an affinity with sister/brother. So if you’re worried the song is actually about incest, I don’t think that is the literal intention. On the other hand, you can’t really ignore the implications of lines like “You’re my lover/I’m your brother” so my guess is that Noel was just trying to be audacious. I know you probably don’t care anymore but I wanted to throw that out there.

noel is a very complicated lyricist (in a good way). it could be about literal incest, it could be some deep artsy metaphor. who knows.

Sister Lovers was a manc band, they knew OASIS, Sister Lovers had the gig at King Tuts in Glasgow - Oasis tagged along and got on the Bill, that's where Alan Mcgee discovered them and gave them a record contract; so I don't think the lyrics are to be taken literally - 'youre my lover' - the band - im 'your brother' - it a homage to Debbies sister lovers band...id guess..

I think you may be taking the tie to literally. This song is not about incest.
However I agree 100% with the statement. This song has the sort of darker feel other end of the spectrum from Round are Way which is the sorta stuff they are most commonly associated with and they do it every bit as well as the poppier stuff. In America Oasis does not get their proper do but their lack of popularity in America is one of those old urban myths. Oasis has sold mollions of records in The Usa they had loyal flowing and for folks of my era Oasis is sort of the soundtrack to our mid teens. Criminally underrated here. Noel can play cricket for the rest of his life and still die a.genius. People.who hate them hate THEM not the music. just as well Noel fed off.ebery doubter

Noel Gallagher is an artist--plain and simple. His lyrics may be sporadically sublime, but near every song has a line or two that are aesthetically perfect and dripping with nostalgia. His true genius lies in that golden, magpie ear for melody. I can't name a single high flying bird or Oasis song that doesn't have an absolutely electric melody. These songs span time, space, class, geography and unite each listener in a way that is universal while being acutely personal. When you hear an Oasis song, you are transported back to the first time you discovered it--and all that entails. This gives these songs, ones that may very well "mean" nothing, but say everything, an inseparable element of nostalgia. I well up with tears when I hear wonderwall, not because it's my favorite Oasis song, but I am taken back to my youth, newly licensed and cruising the back roads with my cousins in the country and dreaming of what lie ahead, that's all gone now, but the songs remain. I must say "she's got one in the oven" must mean that she's pregnant. Hence the follow up line, "But it's nothing to do with me." In other words, I'm not the father. It's a humourous line definitely. That said, I don't agree with the incest angle at all. The "one in the oven" line despite being in the same verse is not related to the bit about the cousins. The fact that it is part of the same verse has apparently led to all sorts of confusion!
