O'Sullivan, Gilbert - Breakfast Dinner And Tea Lyrics

All I ever get from you is breakfast dinner and tea
Served with all the love that you possess
So tomorrow I'll be off with nothing left in me
Bar a helping of your tenderness

People said before we met how good you could be
Especially at well that they didn't say
So I let my imagination get the better of me
Not thinking that I would regret that very day

Now I'm mixed up with a girl
Who believe me cooks like a pro
But outside of that
It's no good at what she should be, loving me

Now I'm mixed up with a girl
Who believe me cooks like a pro
But outside of that
It's no good at what she should be
All I ever get from you is breakfast dinner and tea
Served with all the love that you possess
So tomorrow I'll be off with nothing left in me
Bar a helping of your tenderness

All I ever get from you is breakfast dinner and tea
Breakfast dinner and tea

  41. o.... ....

    I love tea .
    My favourite song this week

  42. J.... D....

My Irish mother taught me how to make a good cup of tea. Boil the water, let the tea brew and add milk not lemon too it. I'm an American, but drink tea the proper way.

  43. E.... S....

Yeah, that's exactly right! I believe, Gilbert has tons of fans there in the US. Thank you for your interaction on my views.

  44. c.... r....

hopefully not just Filipinos (but an excellent notion), but also the U.S. fans. I wish he gets enough demand to perform in the U.S. I'm trying to turn on my kids to his music. I told them he's the U.K. Stevie Wonder. In short...I love all his work or him for that matter! What a fantastic artist. A prolific song writer and an excellent lyricist. I hope some producer would make a musical of his career using his songs. Bravo!

  45. E.... S....

What a fantastic sound of a song from a singer that knows no time and space. Indeed, Gilbert proves himself a real performer that passed the test of time. i love this song a lot. It reminds me that humans don't grow old if they love arts and music altogether. I just hope many Filipinos would love this type of music. That would be nice.

  46. D.... C....

Gilbert....I love you! Your music is helping me get through a horrible time in my life....thank you!

    D.... C....

Donna Carl Kuchinski Dearest Donna, if u need to cry(and i think we all do at times) Listen to G's song We Will. I hear tge first notes of the intro and the tears r rolling down mt face!! Millions of healing hugs to you! Peace always, ernie :-) ps I LOVE U TOO GILBERT!! :-)

  47. M.... P....

    I love you Gilbert O'Sullivan.

  48. c.... r....

how does he do it! it might be an older song, but the melody & lyrics & the idea are never dated. it's still totally relevant regardless of who you are. "...tea anyone...?

  49. c.... r....

my sentiment, exactly...even in the U.S.

  50. m.... ....

This better than much of the stuff that gets into todays charts. It should be released and given airtime on radio.

  51. J.... F....

STILL AS STRONG AS A CUPPA IRISH TEA
    OUR RAYMOND.!
    GREAT.!

  52. s.... ....

Great Song so let get on to the Media and put Ray Back where he belongs.
Top of the Charts with his new CD. Come on its up toYOU

  53. H.... S....

The brass sounds in the background make it so British and warming, coupled with Gilbert's timeless melodic style and unique lyrics, it becomes another standard. Gilbert's a great artist and up there with the best of British. Harry Stone

  54. k.... P....

Can't even buy this on I-Tunes in the US, a bloody shame....

  55. k.... ....

    Fun Video.Complements the Song.Classic Gilbert.

  56. S.... ....

Excellent song, one that reminds me of the other humorous Gilbert O'Sullivan songs like "Not In A Million Years." On the video, its excellent and works well with the video. Thanks for sharing this.

  57. n.... ....

I'm sorry, without youtube/media I would have never have heard of Gilbert o'Sullivan and his brilliant songs (I'm 18). Because of this I have bought one of his greatest hits album for my ipod and the single 'Just so you know' and perhaps I might get his new album as this song is genius!

  58. A.... D....

.....Unfortunately the traditional approach with single releases has not worked for him for a long long time. I guess that's all that matters in the end. The problem I would see is that the theme of this track would have a very specific target audience, maybe that's the tactic.

  59. A.... D....

I agree with your comments Mo. I guess all that matters is to have it released and therefore promoted for radio play and hopefully TV appearances etc. This track has that quirky style that may just help click Gilbert back into the limelight. Once the song is in the public domain it would be hard to stop it being copied, but that would fade in importance 'somewhat' if the song makes an impact, it's a sort of a balanced risk I guess.

  60. j.... s....

haha, I know someone else who could......
