O'Connor, Sinead - Curly Locks Lyrics

Curly Locks, now that I'm a dreadlocks
Your mama say you shouldn't play with me
But it's alright
Curly Locks, now that I'm a dreadlocks
Your mama say you shouldn't play with me

The sun is shining, the breeze is a-blowing, too
And all I've got inside me is lotsa love for you, it's true

Curly Locks, now that I'm a dreadlocks
Your mama say you shouldn't play with me
But it's alright
Curly Locks, now that I'm a dreadlocks
Your mama say you shouldn't play with me

She's a ???head, she's a walking-dead
I'm a living woman who's got a lots of plans it's true

Curly Locks, now that I'm a dreadlocks
Your mama say you shouldn't play with me
But it's alright
Curly Locks, now that I'm a dreadlocks
Your mama say you shouldn't play with me

Thank you, thank you for the letter
You made me feel better
Tee tah toe
That's the way it's gonna go, now

Curly Locks, two roads before you
Which one will be your choice
I really like to know, yeah
Curly Locks, your father is a poacher
And he don't want you dealing with me

Thank you, thank you for the letter
You made me feel better
Tee tah toe
That's the way it's gonna go, now

Curly Locks, two roads before you
Which one will be your choice
I really like to know, yeah
Curly Locks, your father is a poacher
And he don't want you dealing with me

Amazing I like that she sings in her own way.the album is great although different to anything else she's done but saying that I don't think Sinead can be pigeon holed to any particular style of music all her albums are different I'm glad she got to do this album coz she loves Rasta Reggae🙏

She is an angel. An angel suffering so much living in between earthly people. She deserves unconditional love from all of us. Just for being with us and singing. Her voice is an angel's voice. And I am an atheist, near crying while listening to her songs. I do not believe in God but if I try to imagine how would the angels sing - I think about Shinead.

There are many descendants of the Gaelic Irish in places like Barbados, Jamaica, Bermuda, Montserrat, Trinidad, and other parts of the Caribbean, often brought there as slaves and servants or by forced exile.

I love this song as well as the album. Very beautiful! it's a pity that some people spend their time to spread their hatred thoughts about lovely yhings. Why don't you just ignore her? Impossible, because she is too good.

This woman has done it all! Been there since the beginning, Sinead! Love every song you have so graciously sang! Idc who you are, she has her incredible musical talent since she was 5! Her magical voice is it's own band!

@1987Viking Music is UNIVERSAL, Let the REGGAE VIBES transcend its BOUNDARIES.....LUV IT !

  34. 1.... ....

This is Junior Byles/Lee Perry's song. Love Sinead, but, somehow, this song just doesn't say "Sinead' to me. It is a song for a guy with no shoes, a raggedy head, in a room full of ganja smoke, and no thought of tomorrow. Somehow, it is hard for me to imagine a rock superstar pulling off that vibe.

  35. r.... ....

love the Yami Bolo version the best

  36. A.... C....

    aww im suprised! wow!

  37. E.... P....

@ninjaguy3 I like the original better of course, but this version is ok . And I was raised of Jamaican music.

  38. '.... P....

I eve hate the original. But that had at least the Black Ark vibe and rhythm. Horrible.

  39. n.... ....

no...its awful as a matter of fact

  40. E.... P....

    Great Cover

  41. l.... r....

    nic c c e

  42. p.... ....

wow this sucks compared to the actual byles/perry version

  43. J.... ....

    Lee Perry fella

  44. J.... ....

Lee Perry and produced it to

  45. Z.... ....

    Yes sir i fully agree!

  46. K.... ....

The earliest (and best) version I know is Junior Byles but I cant say I know for sure hes the writer. Jacob Miller sings a good version too and Lee Perry one is not bad.

  47. R.... r....

if you all hear the original than you talk different. Junior Byles - Curly locks
    --enjoy---

  48. J.... ....

all she is doing is jumping on a musical band wagon,

  49. J.... ....

if you understood the lyrics you would not come out with such a comment.
see does have a great voice but this is just a bad (murdered) version IMHO

  50. J.... ....

    a totally murdered version

    J.... ....

JazzFunkSouldier she is killing it. LoL

  51. x.... ....
