Nugent, Ted - Together Lyrics

Summertime
Summer days and different ways of loving you
Starry skies
Starry nights and northern nights are shinin'
The crystal ball
Showed me all there was to see
Your time, and mine belong together
Together........

Many times
Wanting you and needing you
Yes all the time
Many nights
Loving you and holding you
And feelin' fine

The crystal ball
Showed me all there was to see
Your time and mine belong together
Together......

Thinkin' back
Bout the time we had along the ways
Oh! summertime
You've gone to cloudy skies
And rainy days
The crystal ball is on and I
The vision seems less clear tonight
Your time and mine belong together

Together....
Together....
Together....
Together....
Together....
Together....

I had the original vinyl and Meat Loaf is right there in the credits for the five songs (as Meatloaf, which he was at the time). I bought Bat the week it came out and saw Meat (with Steinman on piano and Bruce Kulick, later of Kiss, on guitar) in a college gym! By this time I had seen Ted live twice but wasn't aware until shortly after that Meat had done the songs on this album, not having the vinyl yet. What a team they made!!

  46. r.... m....

Great Song! Best Nugent song ever! Thanks Meat!!!! You made it great!!!

  47. M.... ....

Rob Grange! Awesome and so underrated Bass player! That phase Bass line rocks!

He should have stayed with Ted. ;)

    h.... ....

Peter Drahushuk I agree! This is better than any of Meat''s leftovers from Bat Out of Hell. Just fantastic. I being a 70''s rocker didn't know this was Meat either! Shame on me!

    h.... ....

Jeez yes it's so obvious! all this time I just thought, that sounds like Meatloaf! My fave slow Ted Track

    h.... ....

EA B bat out of hell has sold 35 million copies, pretty hefty "leftovers"

    h.... ....

    HUGE plate!! LOL.

  53. C.... T....

This is one of the alltime great records of the 70s! (especially with that last verse). I'm always amazed that it has seemed to languish all these years in obscurity.

  54. q.... 1....

    A.... M....

@Tim Hoover No. Derrick St. Holmes returned at the request of the lable.

    A.... M....

@JB4375 and Derek is a monster in every way. Voice and chops

  69. H.... V....

Killer tune! I just dig these hard rock love ballads! Reminds me of my teen years cruising around in my 1976 Trans Am and being with the girls that I knew back then! Such great memories!

  70. S.... H....

    Meatloaf can flat-out sing!

  71. k.... k....

stardom never turned Ted into a scum sucking baby momma bangin illigitimate breeder .He is a respectable family MAN . A star we can all truly admire . This song reminds me of all the thick and thin and love  and family my wife and I have shared in the last 30 years TOGETHER . Ted isn't like the trashy perverts we have for entertainers today . Descent families can't watch tv anymore . JoJam  ,if you don't like Meat's voice on this you really should try rap or something .Gonna hang out with my wife and children now ......TOGETHER       AWESOME!

    k.... k....

+karl kemble Ted has a few kids out of marriage....and how bout those times on stage when he would talk about all the pussy he can eat? Maybe you might want to rethink that.

  72. M.... ....

This should've been a single back then, Ted & Meat, great together!

  73. J.... P....

For some reason it seems Ted is embarrassed about this song as it is rarely played at concerts. I put it the best song under Stranglehold.

    J.... P....

The some reason would probably be because it sounds like something Meatloaf would sing. Frankly I find it better than Stranglehold, because the depth of feeling that's involved. It's truly a rock love song. So if you watch Ted Nugent or listen to him talk, he's not a rock love song kind of guy. Meatloaf. On top of that the vocals is pure feeling and soulful rock sound. Not Ted.

    J.... P....

I thought I was a pretty awesome song to

    J.... P....

Stormsinger99 Ted has everything to do with it. SMFH!!!

    J.... P....

@Stormsinger99 at least he isnt a libtard. Just guitar? Lol

    J.... P....

  76. K.... M....

This One is Dedicated too The Troops=God Bless You All :)

  77. M.... N....

Ted's guitar doesn't always refuse to play sweet shit. :-)

    M.... N....

@Mark Nelson It just refuses !

    M.... N....

    facts haha

  78. 1.... ....

Written by Rob Grange (Bass) and Cliff Davies (Drums) with a great vocal by Meatloaf. I seem to remember reading when this album came out that Ted was not real enamoured by this ballad - maybe in Ted's elder years this song has grown on him. I always thought it was a one of the best cuts on this album.

    1.... ....

I thought thats who I heard singing! wow!

  79. j.... ....

One of my fav songs.  It really takes me back.

  80. r.... ....

in death, members of project mayhem HAVE a name...HIS name is Robert Paulson...

  81. M.... L....

One of my all-time favorite Ted Nugent songs!!!
Probably the best album of the 3 studio albums this line-up did.

    M.... L....

Michael Little this was the only album for this lineup as meatloaf was doing vocals on 5 songs.

  82. J.... J....

    Muy buena rola

  83. H.... ....

    This is perfect

  84. j.... ....

  85. T.... A....

  86. T.... J....

Being a Ted Nugent holic , and having went through this record and cd many times, never knew this was MEAT singing ! ABSOLUTELY CLASSIC SONG ! TED WAS ON ANOTHER ASTRO PLANE WHILE PLAYING THIS LEAD !

  87. G.... D....

I can still see it in my mind today me an jody sitting in the back of my car listening to this.God I miss those`s time`s so much these day`s.

    G.... D....

    Gene Davis Amen brother!

  88. C.... P....

Ted's body of work, and this is coming from a true rock n roll fanatic is definitely amongst the best-why it combines guitar technical wizardy with heavy riffs, fabulous leads and the themes I love-chicks,guns,outdoor stuff-not putting up with government crap.

  89. H.... '....

    !! very good

  90. m.... l....

Love Ted but his vocals don't touch Meatloafs, even Dereks. Wish Teddy and Loaf
did more together (excuse pun). Fantastic guitar work here. A great tune.

  91. D.... H....

Great song...didn't realize it was Meatloaf signing till many years later.

  92. T.... ....

What a great NUGENT masterpiece from Free For All that never really hit the airwaves in 1976. Meatloaf did a great job on the lyrics. One of my favorites from back inthe day.

  93. k.... c....

    Thinking back...........

  94. b.... h....

I traded a Def Leppard, Pyromania, cassette with my friend for free for all . So glad I did It ! Every song is awesome!
