I've been really disillusioned with the whole modern metal scene recently because everything sounds the same. But this, THIS is a true work of art. It's VERY rare that I describe a song as "beautiful", but my god this is one beautiful song - and not just lyrically. The melodies and harmonies are mellifluous, the riffs ebb and flow, the composition is incredible and the song is tasteful. It truly is a work of art. Thank you Novelists for restoring my faith in the scene. I'm buying this album right now.

Maka O. Bravo can't decide between this and monochrome....the music is both amazing but the lyrical content is just something you dont see in songs anymore its really poetic and beautiful...if u haven't heard of Katatonia check them out, my favorite band and they write in similar ways although they are more of an opeth feel considering the singers for both bands are best friends, "night is the new day" , and "the fall of hearts" might be good albums to check out

They took a hard left on this album but this is amazing

I know. Souvenirs was so good, and I was thinking it was gonna be hard to top that. Not disappointed in this album at all, loving it.

The first time I heard this I thought this isn't all that heavy compared to souvenirs and I didn't care for it that much but I'm listening again today and I think it's even better than souvenirs if that's even possible.
