Northlane - Paragon Lyrics
The last of our martyrs seeks no adoration
From his castle in the air of eternal vibration
We won't lose sight of the lasting words he wrote
We won't lose sight of what matters most
Armed to the teeth
Fearless conviction
Now that he's gone we're going to miss him
Immortalized between the lines
Conceived by a human heart inside
He once said to us, my friend hope is a prison
But the hope his chords sung only spread love
In a hollow crowned kingdom
There are no fighters left here anymore
See you on the other side
Of that open door
We won't lose sight
We won't lose sight
Of the lasting words he wrote
We won't lose sight of what matters most

RIP TOM ****DoØØ**'!3"4**#mMmmMsssDaaaYYY******
"See you on the other side of that open door."
"Death is an open door."
This song is so underrated. Why??
Ambience is metroid like
someone's a fan of doom '16
Thank you for this piece of love, empathy and forgiveness
This is soooo incredibly meshuggah
This would be such a good opener
Thank you Northlane. Tom has been an example for all of us. We will miss him
As a fan from Architects (I'm not a big fan of Northlane sry ^~^)(and thnx to Andrew Baena)
This song is amazing !
Repeat repeat repeat repeat repeat repeat
We won't lose sight of what matters most
"There are no fighters left here anymore."
Un manjar
Marcus is 1000x better than adrian
YES! Great song.
I read that this song is a tribute to Tom, so I just had to check it out and I am not in the slightest disappointed. <3
If anyone wants to skip intro, the actual songs starts at 1:11
Lyrics are cool I guess and I like the references but seriously nobody thinks this song is repetitive as hell? I like it in a way, but this entire album is basically choruses over a repeated riff with some ambient sections, and this song is no different. Meh. Singularity and Discoveries will always be legendary, and while the new albums don't compare by a mile, they're still great in their own rights, but coming from a band like Northlane its just kinda disappointing.
Northshuggah confirmed
My thoughts exactly.
same exact jingle of Quantum Flux, re-arranged.
R.I.P. Tom.
Reed Sims I got the exact same impression. Northlane are kicking goals n progressing. Lyrics kick ass. I hope Architects can persevere as well RIP Tom
RIP Tom
Someone was playing doom while composing this I bet.
love the new album and that last specific song, especially after finding out the reason for it to be written. respect to Tom Searle and Northlane ⚫♥
NorthTones 🤘🤘
How to read this song ?
What do you mean? It's Pa-ra-gon
I wasnt a massive fan of node but this shit right here I fuck with 🙏🏻
anyone else got the feels of DOOM while listening to the intro? or is it just me? 😂
Remind me to Stranger things (periphery) lol
Fuck I love Northlane
Meshuggah is dat u
We need a Northlane Architects Tour,
Sam features on Paragon
and Marcus features on Gone with the wind,
that would be amazing.
Z La nah Marcus featuring on gone with the wind wouldn't be right
nobody should ever perform in Gone with the Wind, imo, otherwise, I agree
Zeke they should play north lane and have Marcus feature on that one.
@Blond Panda i think it's more to adrian
2:43 is reminiscent of the song Low by Architects (around 1:14 of that song). Maybe part of the tribute to back up these lyrics? That song is from the same album which includes the song "North Lane" where the band takes its name, so wouldn't surprise me. .
Julius Caesar whole lyrics are from the architects trust me as i am their die hard fan
I noticed the lyrics but I was thinking maybe even that guitar melody could be an easter egg!
very good, didnt know they had new album
Still much love to Adrian. Discoveries and singularity are some of my fav albums. I like Marcus, but his screams and writing really haven't done anything for me until this album. His singing is much better, but coupled with some of the grittier instrumental, it's done well.
THERE ARE NO FIGHTERS LEFT HERE ANYMORE
Northshuggah
awful mix. can barely hear the drums
Anyone else play the game Paragon? This shit is epic!
instrumental version??
sounds like the vocals of tdwp
OHUENNO
This is heavy as fuck. And I don't mean Rings of Saturn heavy; I mean deeply heavy like Deftones. Love it
Rip Tom Searle
The references to Architects in this song are painfully beautiful. Northlane, from the bottom of my heart, thank you. This is the best tribute to Tom on this website, and I love you guys even more for it.
You know there are other bands out there that has gone through new vocalist and they're still going strong. People just need to accept the fact that the vocalist is gone and have been replaced. If you don't like it then don't listen to their new albums.
This album's very good
Brilliant song, painful lyrics.
the references to Tom Searle and Architects are strong.
Absolutely in love with this.
Thank you, Northlane
Listened a hundred times still crying
Fuck this was pretty heavy.
2:42 to 3:30 is my favorite part in any song. So much power and meaning behind this track. Simply amazing.
Awesome tribute! Tom's lyrics with Meshuggah chugs style are a perfect combo to make him smile from where he is :')
M E S H U G G A H feel in this one I must say
Goosebumps at hope is a prison
My heart can't handle this. 😭♥️this is beautiful. Respect.
Rest in peace Tom, insane song guys, props to you
I see reference to Dead Man Talking, Castles In The Air, C.A.N.C.E.R and Gone With The Wind. Lovely tribute.
Thank you, Northlane.
My ego is completely destroyed.
Love the lyrics here, but honestly this has been my least favourite NL album :/ I actually think Marcus is great but the songs just dont compare with Discoveries/Singularity era. So Discoveries = Singularity > Node > Mesmer for me.
Northshuggah.
good luck 2017 trying to top this album. beyond perfection!
Beautiful and glorious tribute, listened this song with heart full of sorrow.
Almost a year left since Tom leave us, but every fucking day miss him more and more, and I'm sure, that I not alone with this feeling.
Your flesh and bones is dead now, but your spirit is immortal, and alive in our hearts.
peace for all you guys from cold Russia.
This is tight.
I'm feeling the meshuggah influence
A beautiful song for Tom. ❤️
best song on the album for sure.
Messhugah much? I dig it.
who the hell mixed this
im on the same boat, I just want this album to be remastered with node mixing so I can put it on repeat as I did with Node... I'm so pissed off with this mix =PPP
The rest of the album sounds great, go figure this was the first song I heard from this album lol
its a cool song but they are sooo slow it's like down tempo for girls
Hearing the album for the first time a few days ago, as soon as the intro kicked in I knew this was going to be special and even thought it'll be Northlane's Memento Mori on the album. Hit me harder when I realised the connection in the lyrics. RIP Tom Searle. And thank you Northlane for never forgetting your roots.
Oh my djent heart!
this song really reminds me of rational gaze.. and the hardest part is believing that no one in the comments has mentioned this yet
Spastic.
this is restoring my faith in northlane haven't sounded this good since the Adrian days
was never really into northlane but this whole album is awesome.
Sick album duuderrr
Could literally listen to 2:43 - 3:30 on loop forever.
Beautiful tribute to Tom.
I have been lol
I'll say it: Best Northlane album. Period. End of story.
Just read the lyrics... I love you Tom
He name dropped the band they are named after twice in one line
2:32 I heard "hope is a prison"... And "hollow crown's kingdom" Tom Searle lyric from a band named after an Architects song.. So much love from Northlane. I always thought that Marcus would let me down, but in some ways he hasn't. Saw them in Washington after Adrian unfortunately departed, and I was surprised at what I heard. Im still trying to get into their "new" sound, but the acknowledgement of their past from these lyrics warms my little heart. \m/
so much love ☺
:O chills
RIP Tom!
I already love Northlane, but this made gain soooo much more respect for them.
MY SKILL RISES....
This is so amazing
so beautiful, northlane was named after the song northlane by Architects, I often wondered how they were to respond to Tom's recent passing. This is simply beautiful.
2:42 and after is just pure epicness.
Check out DVSR if you like this song
Lots of Mesguggah vibes on this track, Northlane kills it omg !
This album is a masterpiece, hearing lots of improval from Node to here... Still the mix is kinda weak tho.
And fucking hell, nearly 0 promotion.
Fucking love you Northlane, hope to see you soon on stage in Paris !
Much love from France.
Okay now I have hope again in this album after hearing this
Amazing song ,RIP Tom
Rip Tom
marcus is good asf for northlane
That cube thing looks a lot like The Algorithm album art
This is such a beautiful tribute to Tom Searle. Northlane, you really delivered with this album and I thank you for it. Phenomenal job fellas.
The Architects reference really hit that spot!
The whole song is a reference! It's made entirely out of Tom's lyrics from most of Architects' albums, they're just repurposed to be about him. It's really nice.
R.I.P Tom
