After listening to Alien, I cannot listen to this, this is just so much worse than Alien

IMHO the editor lost the flow about 3/4 of the way... at that point the dynamic really needed to hold the shots, sometimes editors lose perspective of the riddim and over compensate with more and more cuts. Really could have used some holds especially in the chorus as it loses the dynamic. The production and writing is leaps and bounds better on the new album too, actual like timeless songs that can be transposed in any style.

New singer is not as good as the old. Prefer the more progressive than this hipster shit.

UNFD is a great record label, but Northlane needs to move to bigger label such as Epitaph imo

I feel that, but at the same time I think UNFD has done a real good job pushing northlane, and as far as I know they don’t mess with their creative process. I feel like if they sign to a major it’d be a matter of time before they start writing 4/4 love songs

@mars 7 They are fine exactly where they are at. Like Moths To Flames moved to this label coming from Rise if I'm not mistaken. Independent labels are the way to go especially for creatives like Northlane who are anything but contemporary

Don’t get me wrong I like Alien, it’s definitely something else. I also like the other older albums. But this is still my number one Northlane song and Mesmer is still my favorite album by them. New to northlane can someone explain to me why this track isn't as heavy as bloodlines. It sounds like two different bands.

They changed vocalists. Which in my opinion made the entire band sound much better. Not saying their past work was bad or anything, but Marcus's vocals bring a different and a more mature vibe.

@Darth Dankious Uh. Both songs have the same vocalist. This album is just more of a progressive style compared to Bloodlines, which is more "nu" compared to the rest of the work Northlane has put out.

I feel like this album and "Deep Blue" from Parkway Drive are both in the category of good albums that would be great with better production

This music video adds nothing to the message being delivered by the song. Director was like " yeah let's have the band members just have fun and headbang throughout". Doesn't feel like anyone's in the "undertow" the way these guys are having fun playing. Not sure what's the point of music videos these days - just to show your band's on tour and alive or actually compliment/add something to the message of then song in question? The lyrical content and emotions delivered visually just pass each other like trains on different tracks.

I can’t even imagine being able to afford that bass, let alone the cost of this beautiful video. Do they tour in a bus or a van?

Its Just so sad to hear a band as perfect as Northlane was now have this much gay singing in it. Marcus is great but doesnt fill adrians shadow he sings too much very talented.
I wish they had their touring bassist brendan on vocals instead He was incredible in life through a window by structures.

I think the remarkable thing is that both Marcus and Adrian fit this band very well. They are both excellent, I get the feeling that Adrian's lyrics were a bit deeper/more introspective on some more personal/sad (good) level, but Marcus has this tremendous heart that makes me feel far more compassionate (and his depth is phenomenal as well).

These guys deserve to be more mainstream.

I personally prefer their Discoveries era but Marcus is definitely way more talented than Adrian as a vocalist. The reason I don't listen to them anymore is that they became boring instrumentally and production-wise.
