Norma Jean - Face: Face Lyrics

Leech with two daughters. "Give give they cry."
Her name is, she is a liar. I refuse to be hers.
A kiss from her is one of the grave. Bullets by
her mouthful an enemy at the six. She Simply will
not die.

    nothing wrong with mcr tho

    w.... ....

@skramz kid I never got into MCR too much personally, but sure, their music isn't bad. I'm just saying that people should explore more instead of just listening to the same two bands over and over again.

If someone asked me, "if you were stranded on a desert island woth only three cd's, what would you pick?" The first two would be bless the martyr because the first copy would get so scratched up from playing it so much that i would need a backup copy

  17. B.... A....

Has anyone listened to this album (the actual CD) in the car on some subs? It hits hard as fuck. Also was the only CD to overheat my amp.

According to Wikipedia it was Darren Doane

  24. p.... ....

generic dillinger escape plan/botch worship. zzzzzzz in 2002 and zzzzzzzzzzzz now. they even rip off the opening riff from we are the romans in this track. seriously? the luti-kriss record and most of the chariot's stuff is solid but everything with the norma jean name on it is pure trash.

    p.... ....

pancakerepairman Don't get me wrong, I love bands like botch and coalesce, but I dig Norma Jeans take on the sound more. And no, this sounds nothing like Calculating Infinity (TDEPs album at the time).

  25. T.... ....

Does the Guitar player sing the "She simply will not die" part? Know his name is Chris or ...Daniel Day

    T.... ....

    It's still Josh Scogin

  27. F.... ....

    She simply will not die!!1

  28. T.... ....

i could never get into their later work. this album i loved, not just because of that raw 'live' sound that it had but just the overall song writing and the atmosphere (especially the drums on track 5). maybe its because im not that huge on metalcore but this album, Underoath's album Cries Of The Past and bands like Zao definitely set the standard for talent in this genre

    T.... ....

I was there a while back, but just give the newer shit a try! It is lovely in its own right. Is it as good as THIS?! Fuck no!! But I love ALL Norma Jean! Cory is great!

    T.... ....

@Devin Gates Cory has really insane variety of vocals. Cleans, high notes, lows, growling, screams. His phrasing of words is really sharp. But i have to say, that when i love 68 both albums and i really like that chaos from Chariot, i will never get into Bless The Martyr. I dont know why, i mean, i love raw albums with live mix and production, but something is for me off on that album.
btw. Cory is my favorite vocalist, i just adore his power and i think, that he suits better to Norma Jeans core sludgy sound, than Josh. I like Josh more in hardcore and punk outfit, so i think, that 68 is perfect. I think, that Redeemer has overal better sound, mix, production. Everything is grossy on that album, but you still can hear everything. Bass is so enormous (i am a lover of huge, crumbling bass under-tones), so many instruments on background, details in sound and feedback. Probably cause Ross Robinson is my favorite producer, lol.
And Polar Similar has really unique mix and atmosphere. I love themes on that album, drumming, bass and vocals. It has for me, really personal touch. So when so many people grow up with Bless and Oh God, for me, there was in worst times Redeemer and Polar Similar. And new album All Hail has fucking amazing writing.

So i have to say, that Bless and Oh God are great albums, but i will never get into them probably. Oh God because production/mix and Bless...i dont know, i probably miss Cory on vocals. And i like rest of the albums. I love Anti Mother, Meridional and Wrongdoers also.

  29. Z.... ....

  30. M.... B....

Music to hate your ex to. The part when he says "She simply will not die", I just envision choking the bastard.

  32. d.... m....

Leach with two daughters. Give give they cry

  33. D.... ....

My music friends can look down upon me for listening to this band, but the composition on this album is so FUCKING GREAT!

  34. j.... ....

    When this band was good

    j.... ....

eljonezen always was good. love both corey and josh scogins music

    j.... ....

    Agreed. Trash after Josh left

  35. r.... ....

    lmfao when breakdowns were cool

    r.... ....

    they still are bud.

    r.... ....

+Michael Koehler that was actually a joke. in fact, i cant believe i used to listen to this. have a wonderful day!

    r.... ....

    +roflgoodgame chug chug rreeeeee!!!

  36. D.... ....

Josh Scogin sounded insanely good on this album. One of the most persistent vocalists, he simply will not stop making bands!

  37. L.... D....

Great song. Really helped me let out some steam over the years. I used to listen to it a lot when I had a real bitch of a boss.

  38. T.... D....

I used to listen to this back in the day. Now I realize that the beginning riff is a total rip of a Rush song.

    T.... D....

The Dust Collective lol which one???

  39. s.... ....

    nice, creepy vibe

  40. F.... P....

Checked this out for the first time today. Sounds like Dillinger Escape Plan with far less talent. Vocalist kicks ass compared to their later shit

    F.... P....

@The5partacu5 wow, I kind of disagree.  I personally think that is their weakest album, not because it is bad, but because they evolved so much and all the breakdowns seem kind of basic and repetitive in the context of what's around today.  I think for straight hardcore, the aftermath is the one to listen to.  I like that they completely moved away from breakdowns in that album and tried to be original... or at least like botch.

    F.... P....

+The5partacu5 Im not calling you a liar, but where did you get information on this album being recorded live and in one take? I find that very doubtful with how solid the album is and am wondering where or how you heard this. Thanks.

    F.... P....

Scott Lauren It's in the CD booklet notes. Check it out.

    F.... P....

@Scott Lauren I'm pretty sure all Josh Scogin involved recordings are all live full band takes

    F.... P....

I wouldn't really compare them to DEP at all tbh, sounds closer to Botch. But Bless The Martyr Kiss The Child is one of the best albums in the genre def give it a try. Also Adam D of Killswitch produced this album.

  41. M.... D....

    modern classic

  42. h.... ....

after all this years this is still the best breakdown on planet earth 1:44

    h.... ....

    here in 2019 still listening

    h.... ....

    It simply will not die

    h.... ....

    I'll cum to your house

    h.... ....

after all these years it's still 144p

    h.... ....

    2019 and it’s still golden.

  43. P.... D....

Speakers sound blown in this mix and that makes it sound even more awesome

    P.... D....

Peter Deusterman that’s the point I think

  44. R.... L....

I like Norma Jean with Josh Scogin way more than the Chariot. Old Norma Jean had groove and rhythm while maintaining chaos. Chariot is just chaos.

    R.... L....

I don't know man, for 'just chaos' their albums have pretty tight writing. The Chariot are legendary. If you like BTAKTC, check out the Chariot's first album Everything Is Alive, Everything Is Breathing, Nothing Is Dead and Nothing Is Bleeding.

    R.... L....

have you heard the album's they put out as Luti-kriss amazing shit

    R.... L....

That album completely blew my mind. One of the best recordings of music I have ever heard. There is nothing like that album. Long live the chariot.

    R.... L....

Ryan Lum I kind of agree. I love chaotic music like this. Dillinger, Botch, Converge, Norma Jean, all day long. Every time I try to listen to The Chariot, it just doesn’t sound that good to me.

    R.... L....

@Dustin Clark I see you trying to say, "Every time I try to listen..." What I'm hearing is Every Time I Die.

  45. g.... ....

I love all of Norma Jeans albums, so want to see them live!

  46. M.... L....

Why are you blocked??? Ahhhhhh I can't find this video anywhere.

  47. E.... ....

I listened to luti-kriss and Normajean for years back to back everyday.

  48. d.... ....

as awesome as this is, I think chariot is better and norma jean with Corey is a different beast that I also very much enjoy.  Two great bands came from this.

    d.... ....

    I fully endorse this comment.

    d.... ....

    @The5partacu5 yay!

    d.... ....

I also agree but I think that NORMA's sound changed when the original drummer Daniel Davison left. I read he actually wrote most of the music and I just don't think anyone can touch him on the drums (just my opinion) Daniel also wrote most of the UNDEROATH album disambiguation (in my opinion UNDEROATH's best album)

    d.... ....

bill ackman everything Daniel touches turns to gold.

  49. A.... J....

    cool story bro :')

  50. C.... V....

    hey relax..that's just my opinion

  51. A.... R....

    you're wrong, you stupid fuck!

  52. T.... ....

I like the old norma jean... but i also like the new. deathbed athiest is such a good song.

  53. C.... V....

it's simple no scogin no norma jean...thats why the chariot rocks!!

  54. a.... ....

Agree, the newer stuff just isn't as good as this. The raw, underproduced sound is what made them stand out and so enjoyable to listen to.

  55. R.... B....

I think it depends quite simply on what it was you liked about Norma Jean when they started out. I love the first 2 albums (BTMKTC and OGTA) because of how raw it was. I have liked songs from the albums since then but nothing touches the first 2 for the sheer rawness of it all. I LOVE the chariot because they carried on with the raw sound whereas new Norma jEAn is a more polished machine... which is not what I am into. Its not a 'lack of taste,' just different tastes...

  56. R.... ....

Boss was an 80's thing i thought.

  57. d.... ....

It annoys me to no end when I see people say shit like "old Norma Jean is so much better than new", or "They just aren't the same." Fucking seriously? Have you listened to Meridional? If anything they are getting better. Don't get me wrong I love this album and i LOVE Josh, and I love the chariot. But thats where he belonged. In the Chariot. Yes, you are entitled to your opinion. I do believe however that most of this horseshit comes from some sort of weird nostalgia or lack of growth of taste.

    d.... ....

dejorage This. People just can’t fucking grow up.

  58. M.... G....

Norma Jean is like Underoath. Started pretty damn cool, after some years, it isn't the same anymore, not so good as it was! :\

    M.... G....

What you say on new album???

  59. a.... L....

Don't get me wrong i like the chariot but I like scogin better in norma jean but it was scogin a choice and I respect that

  60. C.... R....

been liking them since middle school n im 21 now still liking em!

  61. R.... L....

and they simply will not die. they will not die.....unfortuantely

  62. J.... I....

i like emmure too whats the problem?

  63. P.... M....

    WTF.... very cool!!!

  64. T.... ....

    Emmure is for re-tarted women

  65. d.... ....

Nothing wrong with two flavors of Botch. Still fun.

  66. C.... ....

  67. E.... ....

    Except not. At all.

  68. S.... R....

    hey!!! emmure is da shiznit!!!

  69. R.... N....

I kinda like both Emmure and Norma Jean. Is that acceptable?

  70. E.... ....

Couldn't laugh and agree more! XD

  71. J.... D....

    who the fuck is that

  72. C.... ....

guessing you are either underaged or musically shallow.

  73. J.... D....

    Back when hardcore was hardcore.

  74. M.... ....

Back when Norma jean were boss

  75. M.... J....

    amazing

  76. D.... E....

lol. I was thinking If Botch and The Dillinger Escape Plan were a couple, this album would be their bastard child.

  77. m.... ....

    Arab on Radar meets Botch.

  78. L.... E....

  79. J.... W....

  82. M.... B....

I stop for BBQ pits, firework stands, and norma jean shows

  83. L.... S....

    Ok cool..

  84. D.... E....

I wasn't criticizing NJ for possessing similarities with Botch. They're an excellent band. I was just acknowledging the fact that they sound like Botch.

  85. h.... ....

    best breakdown ever recorded

  86. L.... S....

Yes you can hear the influence..at the end of the day..so damn what?

  87. J.... T....

gave this a chance i can't get into thisss

  88. D.... E....

    One word. Botch.

  89. M.... R....

A KISS FROM HER, A ENEMY AT THE SIX!!!!
    Great!!!

  90. N.... L....

All Norma Jean rules. Past, present, and future. It will always rule.

  91. s.... x....

Oh God, the aftermath is a fucking classic, as is this album. I like NJ with and without Josh. We wouldn't have the chariot if he hadn't have left (as someone said below)

  92. C.... B....

The Respect Issue is an album by Emmure... Anywho the new norma jean rules. If Josh didn't leave, we wouldn't have The Chariot.

  93. J.... H....

the went soft once josh left...
