Norah Jones - All A Dream Lyrics

And we finally awake
And walk into the sunny day
I can see it in your face
That everything will be okay

'Cause you never hurt
Someone who wants to learn
To be your slave

And the night is oh so clear
The clouds will never reappear
But the moon is out of place
And all the trees are looking strange

And feeling the warmth of your breath
Against my skin
Now I hope this isn't only just a dream

So we run into a church
The people all look the same
And the sun is in my eyes
I'm trying hard to scream your name

My stomach starts to churn
And the curtains in the wind begin to burn
And now I know it's all a dream

Enemy sleeps with me night or day
Enemy teases every minute in my mind
He's in my mind

Enemy throws all my money away
Enemy knows how to make me always pay
I always pay

Enemy lies don't cross my mind
Enemy talks, talking so nice and kind
So nice and kind

And how long does it take
To fight off this weakness?
And tell him
To guard me
'Cause God knows I'm sorry

Mmm

Ooo

  9. Emmanuel Acosta

I love how different this album is from her previous ones. They're all terrific in their own way, but this just goes to show how talented the women is. She's making this type of music in this day an age where mostly everyone else is producing garbage! She's on another level!

    June Asiimwe

This is my favorite albums of hers.

    Gran artista, clase pura.

  15. Ziyed Hamrouni

should be included to 50 shades tracklist

  16. Mariano Silva Neto

    A melhor perfomace da Norah.

  17. Jim Andrews

This is one of my favorite Norah Jones songs. Along with Tell Yer Mama, 4 Broken Hearts, Light as a Feather, and Stuck. Those two albums, Little Broken Hearts and The Fall, are so strong, and I believe these songs are the best ones on those albums. They weren't the singles, though. Maybe these songs were considered too far from the tastes of her main audience at the time. It ain't right that these two albums weren't as big or bigger as her first one. And it's great to watch her play these songs with Sasha Dobson and Smokey Hormel back then. She and Dobson sing so well together. And Norah and Smokey on guitars--terrific.

    Kody Marley

Travellin' On is my all time favourite Norah Song

  18. Six Gorillas

    Şanışer sagolsun :D

    Fuad Mammadli

Bedirhan Sırtkya Oralardan buralara gəldik. Əvvəl Sunny day, sonra bu

  19. Neha Sharma

this islets song poetry and song from Norah. she came to Delhi and had a concert and never sang this one and I can't never forgive her for that :)

  20. Raiden X

I just melt listening to her vocals. Saw her live and it was absolutely amazing. Hopes she'll tour to here again soon.

  21. PeachesCourage

Thanks Norah sometimes I need to mellow out

  22. Brian Larson

This song reminds me of my friend that couldn't help shooting heroin.

  23. Thomas Hofheinz

There are great albums about the death of deep relationships, but this one is unique in its depth and calm and absolutely perfect musicianship. I don't think it's possible to completely understand what she's doing without having been through a relationship you bet your life on and now know for sure is gone for good.

  24. Yasill Hokly

Can't be the only one who love to listen to this while stoned. Feels like I'm riding a roller coaster that runs on sound wave of the bass-line

    Thomas Hofheinz

The bass is extraordinary throughout this album, pretty much a college course in what bass playing is all about.

  25. pato cane

  49. officialmichelecarraro

    dear God..what an album!

  50. jzm

I agree. I hope she keeps it up. It's very Mazzy Star'ish. A band I sorely miss.

  51. jzm

Best Norah Jones song ever. Although i have to say, this whole album is brilliant.

  52. weapons56

This song is epic, an excellent choice to close the album, it all gives a different colour. For 11 tracks she tried to explore a much groovier, much more swaying and darker side of her self, and coherently "all a dream"ends up the album. But this track stands out coz it's the longest and brings a reggae-like touch which is also ,in a way a great opening on to a different style she could work on, I think. Brilliant !

  53. MsSinut

she's super! 17/09/2012 Rome... just HUGE CONCERT!

  54. Walter Reyes

    the bass yesssss.

  55. leilanisings4pandas

    perfect description.totally legit.

  56. Bluzme

seems incoherent ...a lazy kind of incoherent
I get that she meant for it to be absurd (or something like that) but it's just stupid

  57. Justin MC

Wow pure joy what a awesome track! I feel like I'm in a dream listening to this song I usually don't listen to female vocalists, but ever since I heard her voice in a Foo fighters song years ago I've been a fan.

  58. Josh W

Thanks for making me notice that, now i understand why this cd's so bomb

  59. Myrtle bunny

I love the new style she chose

  60. Helen Baker

  61. Dr. Ron K Sedgwick

    Thank you GOD. :)

  62. Stratos

One of the most soulful female vocalists I know...

  63. Helen Baker

I love this!!!! This is my dad's fav song.........we are going to see her in September, I like happy pills and she's 22!!!

  64. Tommaso Silvestro

I think the "enemy" she refers to is herself.

  65. mark chapman

I was indifferent about her earlier stuff. This stuff is fantastic.

  66. Clarisbel Cabrera

Me Encanta me llevo a otro state of mind

  67. jsk7774

Nice thing when your debut goes diamond out of nowhere - you can't really be a "sellout". In fact, she's done just the opposite - she's done whatever she's felt like musically ever since with no regard to album sales. Play more guitar, start a country band, collaborate with all sorts of music legends from Bob Dylan to Outkast, etc. I'd argue as her career has progressed, she's become ridiculously underrated for her versatility. Tough feat to be underrated while selling 50 million records.

  68. sebastian fernandez

    Produced by danger mouse.....

  69. senriseren

    omg the bass @[email protected]

  70. Cat McNichol

  74. Ivan Bruno

  75. Bell South

i like that norah is trying new styles of music. this is cool.

  76. Marius Møller

dont know if i would call it selling out... going from the old jazz witch was great to this... 70`s rock type thing, think both styles are cool.. could be because im a dangermouse fan also

  77. donald demenus

Only those with emotions can understand.

  78. Alex Haysler

Floydian music meets Norah's voice = musical heaven!

  79. Scripturient

I hope that's not all that matters...
