I don't think a song has ever made me cry without me being sad to begin with. This song is so beyond amazing. The whole album is just breath taking and the short film is beautiful. So tragic but so fantastic.

I love this album, its mean an incredible amount and is so damn personal. The first time I heard it in fall of 2009 I was going through the biggest break up of my life and its such an exact replica of those times.

Rarely have I been able to relate to a love song so much, in a way that crap like Rihanna and Minaj could only dream of doing, simply because, I guess, Fink has been through so much more, and has the genius to be able to put it to incredible music, rather than have someone else do it for him.

I listened to two songs one night after thinking a lot of a girl that had accidentally led me on, and friendzoned me heavily. The songs were First Days of Spring, and My Door is Always Open...The first left me in melancholy tears. This feeling drowned every other aspect of my thinking. The second, seemed to do the same. When the finale started warming up, I felt almost as if a bad dream quickly changed to a good one, and i was waking up. Soon, I started laughing tears of joy. Such gifts.

i was right at the stage at charlie fink's feet & they did this song.. i was sobbing. it was probably one of the most incredible experience of my life. this entire album is perfect. noah and the whale will forever be my favourite band.

In my mind, this song really starts with the choir during the last 45 seconds of 'Slow Glass.' It provides a really calming intro to the vocals, which obviously are equally amazing.
