No Use For A Name - Until It's Gone Lyrics

Buildings will replace the trees
Pollution will replace the air we breathe
I'm close to the mountain, just miles away
But I can't see the hills from here today

We can't just let it pass us by
And as I look into the sky
Something in the atmosphere is telling me it won't be here for long

Take a picture of this place cos extinction is not so far away
Our skin will fry like a steak well done
When there's nothing between us and the sun

We can't just let it pass us by
And as I look into the sky
Something in the atmosphere is telling me it won't be here for long

Until it's gone - Until it's gone
Until it's gone - We'll never miss it until it's gone, gone, gone

All the efforts seem to fall
With cars and cans of aerosol
I feel so guilty, then my pride will die
When I see the grey, self-created sky

Until we find a better way
We'll have to learn from all our big mistakes
Something in the atmosphere is telling me it won't be here for long

Until it's gone - Until it's gone
Until it's gone - Until it's gone
You'll never miss it until it's gone, gone, gone

Seems like a letter that we cannot send
Fells like aluminum we cannot bend
Tastes like a mixture that we cannot blend
But we must change the course of the recipe to the end, to the end

Tony Sly tried to warn us over 25 years ago. There are those who listened, and those who still can't hear.

Whoever is hating on them, it's called evolving, they are not 20 anymore, life experiences change music.

The acoustic splits are awesome! I'm pretty much a Joey Cape fan-boy so I liked his tracks a lot more, but Tony's songs were also really good. I've wasted countless hours watching youtube videos of the tour Tony, Joey, and Jon Snodgrass did a little while back. Those guys are inspiring...

Yeah the first time I read the news in a yt comment for about I dunno five minutes I thought it was a joke, but I found out all too quickly that it was true. No Use for a Name got me through some tough times as well....still some ahead :/

Hard to still believe he's passed on though. To be honest I did like the splits he did with Joey Cape and not every song after More Betterness was bad.

Yeah More Betterness was their last album that I truly love. Tony's lyrics were still brilliant, but I didn't like the musical direction the band went in nearly as much. Too polished.

Making Friends and Leche Con Carne are two of my favorite albums ever. The later albums are still good, but I miss the aggressive/raw sound from the 90's.

I still cried when Tony died. I'd uploaded a NUFAN cover in mid-july randomly... It felt almost personal when he died two weeks later. He made my life better.

AwwYeeeaa Upping The Ante!!! Intro song. One of the(if not the) nicest bands I had the pleasure to hang with pre and post gig. We even persuaded them to play this song, which they usually don`t(at least not on the warped tour-time restraints and all). But this was all like 11 or twelve years ago.

I liked these lyrics, I remember listening to this cd over and over and over skateboarding, doing yard work, or just hanging out in my room. Listening to it again brings back a lot of good memories.

i wish they all just quit the band, rather than making "more betterness"

    @666rexx

Yeah even More Betterness wasn't that good but it did have some great songs I really liked and it all seemed honest. After that very hit or miss, and I just mostly missed the old No Use when I would hear them.

@notyoursavior78 thats so true seems like he went in a more emo direction after more betterness!

  20. F.... B....

He pretty much mellowed out after leche. Still good, but not as intense.

    @everynameisgone1984

not for long. Some of us have the cds and listen to those still. Anyways amazing EP by this band. They seemed like the next Bad Religion as far as lyrical prowess. Tony Sly just mellowed out too much and after More Betterness, I didn't like them much anymore.
