Drew sang a majority of the songs because Zac's sinigng voice is too low. They liked him for the part but they didn't like his voice.
Look it up.
And what other reason would there be for Drew going on tour with the HSM cast?
Also compare "Dance With Me" from the Cheetah Girls 2 to the Disney version of "Breaking Free" you will see the voices are the same.

Umm... the Josh Hodge and Nikki Flores version of the song was released in September 2006.
Months after HSM.

Correction it's Drew and Vanessa who sing it in HSM.
Zac's voice was too low.
