This song is one of the most understand songs I know of. I love this song. Real poetry and Nikka Costa sang the shit outta this. I hate that songs like this really doesn't get any radio play like it should've. But imma keep bumping this song. Its a real ass song.

I was able to hunt down this album on vinyl (the Nikka Costa one not the soundtrack) which was fortunate, since they didn't press it in vinyl for distribution the copy I have is for DJs and features heavy bass on this track. I prefer this version but sometimes Im feeling the bass heavy version

Is that from when Prince was on stage with Nikki in Las Vegas? OMG...that was THE BEST version of this song EVER. They were perfect together and Prince riffin’ on the guitar toward the end was absolutely amazing. Nikki just stepped back for a moment and was grooving on his superb playing. They sang together too. Just too good for words. You, my friend, are fortunate to have that audio file.💜

Great song, makes me wonder how many great songs never get air time. It's sad that these gems never really see the light of day. Radio is dead, not because we don't listen but because 3 companies own all of the stations and they don't want to pay for a larger catalog of music so we get the same old, same old, and miss out on some really great tallent.
