On top of having both classical and rock training, she has the widest vocal range of all three NW singers, fantastic technical skill, and has been a vocalist in everything from operatic to heavy rock and metal bands.

"And she would disappear if she was never with NW" - The only reason you can say that is because you listen to Nightwish, so if she left, she would disappear _from your_ perspective.
She had an extensive career prior to NW, and she's a widely sought after vocalist, so if NW breaks up, her prospects are still wide open.

She's hardly a "dime a dozen" when professional vocal coaches swoon at her skill.

@Jim O We certainly do. Inasmuch as Floor is my favorite NW vocalist, there are plenty who dislike her, and at least one I've seen said she screeched/wailed like a seal, so I can understand the disagreement.

There are, however, several NW songs that I greatly prefer when sung by Tarja, as opposed to Floor.

if you're unfamiliar with Nightwish, should look more into their epic and expansive back catalogue, they've had 3 singers Tarja, Anette and now Floor. (Floor is the 3rd and hopefully final singer ;p )
As for Floor's music... she was in After Forever first, then Revamp, and she has a project called Northward. (she's appeared with countless metal musicians also)

Vedo che ormai i Nightwish sono solo per bimbi minchia. Ho fatto bene a smettere di comprarli e ad andare ai concerti. Volendo c'è Sanremo. La canzone è monto carina, gradevolmente banale, ma se risento cosa erano e ascolto sta roba, penso... brrr. Quanti soldi portano un cumulo di adolescenti rimbambiti? Tantissimi. Mi spiace per Floor, ha fatto male a lasciare gli After, dove poteva usare completamente la sua voce e la sua personalità. POP-WISH ormai...I battle beast invece sono rimasti abbastanza fedeli a quel tipo di musica che li aveva fatti apprezzare, senza tradire le aspettative.

Questa canzone è semplicemente una dedica ai loro genitori (in alcuni casi scomparsi). Per il resto l'ultimo album è il più profondo e significativo che abbiano mai prodotto, specialmente nei testi. Reputo difficile che i bimbi minkia conoscano il pensiero di Richard Dawkins, sappiano chi sia Henry David Thoreau o abbiano letto Walter Whitman, tanto per citare le influenze più dirette sull'album.
Ho 45 anni, ascolto i NW praticamente dal giorno 1 e ho visto questo gruppo maturare musicalmente e nei testi come pochi altri hanno fatto. Non voglio offenderti (come tu hai indirettamente fatto dandomi del bimbo minkia e del rimbambito), ma onestamente il tuo mi sembra un giudizio molto superficiale e un po' infantile. I Battle Beast (che tra l'altro apprezzo anche) fanno una musica forse più fresca, ma decisamente più commerciale e scarna di contenuti.

People are flawed, and they also are in raising their children. Parents do what's best in their perspectives at the time. In the end our parents gave us all life, so we can experience a beautiful song like this and all the other beautiful things in life. We owe this all to them and I'm grateful for it.

I have to post this every Mother's Day for my mother, who is one of the strongest people I've ever met.

This song should have ended right after Floor finished that last verse, but I can understand why they put that instrumental at the end. It was because this song is so emotional and is precious to them, that they had to have a breather and a calming ending to settle their tears.

(Of course, this song is epic with that ending, since it's the song they wrote. Love this song lots, it's very touching and special to me after listening to it properly. Tears every time.)

I don’t know. I saw a backstage video of the techs showing the person filming what gear they use. They have a laptop with all the orchestra sounds on it and Our Decades in the Sun was on there too. So its a possibility that maybe one day they will.

I live away from my parents, studying in another state which is very far away from home. Whenever I'm not with my parents this song always make me cry, the first line itself already brought me to tears. I can't express how much I miss them. They age as we grow, and when I was staying at home with them I never appreciate what they did to us because it seems like its their obligation doing all these for us. At first when I left home, I was happy because I finally have my own life to live in without being 'supervised' by them, but after a few months staying away from home, I realized that I miss them so much.
Cherish the moments you get to spend with your family, and always be grateful that you have a mom and a dad.

Yes, it sounds exactly like she was singing her heart out for her own parents. From everything I've seen and read her family are close and are extremely supportive. I remember seeing Floor on a t.v show and there was footage of her mum and dad with their faces beaming with pride. Upon seeing it she broke down and found it difficult to speak. I didn't understand what was being said as it was in Dutch but their love for one another was unmistakable

The album is a good work, but it lacks that power, that energy characteristics of old Nightwish. I feel as if I were listening something very common, predictable. I don´t feel so comfortable listening to this new album.

While I knew the album existed, I haven't gotten around to listening to it until about 2 weeks ago, and I haven't been able to stop listening to it. It's just that good, and overall it has an incredibly cohesive theme to it.

The music really is somewhat softened and may seem predictable, weak, bland to some, maybe closer to pop music for others. But it is not. This album for me is perfect example of soft power. No one really wants the same formula every time. Each album is different. And their newest album I seen live this year was really heavy with Floor! There's not a single person I know who really likes this band, let alone ever heard of them and they are my lifetime favorite because of the emotions and memories I have tied to them listening for over half of my life. Without having that bond, I may think about them like everyone else does. Give them time bro.
