Eve Brown When I heard this song, I found it very poetic myself and think it’s very beautiful. While listening to this song I would imagine looking out my window at the trees and stars and moon waiting for my husband to come home from work and once he arrived we would express our love for each other and how much we would miss each other on the most intimate/spiritual way. When I listened to this song for the very first time I was 16 and I thought that 'nymphomaniac' means 'mania to get married to' because 'nymphe' in Greek means 'wife'. I grew up and I understood the lusty meaning of the word. LOL

There's something about these kind of songs that i really like, guess it's the passion the erotism evokes. Simply magical, it makes me remember that could be a way of getting lost too.....

hmm OK. I think I understand what you tried to say, still I can not see where Is the WTF factor or what Is wrong with that song and the lyrics. About the quote you wrote, we need to remember that it was just a part, the whole phrase Is "drink from my thighs the rain of lies". For me that phrase, the "breasts which never nursed" and the whole chorus are the most revealing parts. Or maybe I overanalyzed everthing.
Still I think Is one of the best written songs. Peace.

Oh well, good for you. :) Where was the show?

It was in Portland Oregon.  The venue really small, and we were packed in like sardines.  But it was still a good show.  Their opening act, Sabaton, was amazing as well.

@Nicolette James from what i understand he loves to maintain complete control over at in the early days he would not even let Tarja a bit of control over time between gigs to rest her voice or showed any interest in giving her a chance to spend some time with her new hubby, thus the rift, .i have a friend who used to be their guitar handler and claims to have overheard.a number of arguments between Marcelo and Tuomas over matters pertaining to Tarja's rights..including her feelings of insecurity and lack of privacy, often being the only woman in a large group of men, while touring....from what i observed i am not sure Floor aspires to do any song writing..but judging by her go getter attitude ( forming two bands ) she most likely will want say over something...i still cant forgive him for the way he treated Tarja in 2005 , after that heartwell arena firing, in which she gave all her energy to that last concert...she gave that supertouching performance of Kuolema Tekee Taiteilijan and there wasn't a dry eye in that arena...he slipped that separation letter under her door and the tears of pain in her eyes at that last conference...hope he learned his lesson is all i can say

@corec tions Yeah it seems like he treated both Tarja and Annette really horribly. I know Floor's a great songwriter cause she wrote songs for After Forever, and I think she wrote songs for her other 2 bands too. So if Tuomas would just stop being a control freak and let Floor start writing for Nightwish then she could use her full potential.

@Nicolette James when they first broached the possibility that she would be recruited to replace Annete, i was excited for her but concerned as well, knowing she would eventually have to lock horns with Tuomas over a number of issues...as you know, she sang with a powerful mixture of classical/metallic timbre which has now been replace, imho, by a rather mediocre pop to rockish voice.with a few instances of growls and belts(which i always enjoyed about her approach)...a lot of peple seem to like it but to me it sound so pale compared to her previous bands and even the first 2to 3 years with them...take for example her rendition of deep, silent, complete...whereas Tarja sang it with rich reverberating lioness like quality, Floor;s version sounds almost the same sweet, soft way she performed sleeping sun...
