Night Ranger - Rain Comes Crashing Down Lyrics

So you say you've written letters
And you've mailed them to yourself
And through the politics of compromise
You've left them lying upon your shelf
At the risk of seeming crazy
I've set off to find your cure
With apologies for knowing
It's a difficult time of year

And the shadows you leave behind you
Are like the rain that's crashing down
When there's no one left around
I'll be the rain that's crashing
Rain that's crashing down

So you say we're going nowhere
With the fear of wasting youth
Through the different times and with different eyes
I see it every change in you
And now we've reached the point of knowing
That in love we're never sure
Still I'm holding on tight to memories
And there you go walking out the door

And the shadows you leave behind you
Are like the rain that's falling down
And your halo was left in town
And still the rain comes crashing down
And the sadness you leave behind you
Like shadows across the ground
When there's no one left around
I'll be the rain that's crashing
Rain that's crashing down
[Repeat]

Rain comes crashing down [7x]
The rain [3x]

Good song! I really lost track of Night Ranger after about 1985 (Seven Wishes), happened across a CD of them around 2003, and didn't care for the 'sound' they had become...but this is pretty good...kinda gives you a trip back to the 80's...

  8. Paul DiGiacomo

doesn't get any better than this

  9. Richard Johnson

  10. Dave Schwartz

We see enough of rain crashing down in SW Florida

    Tune.

  13. Kevin Calkins

I wish they would have made a video for this one. I like the background screen Babbaloo used, but I wish he'd put the lyrics up along with it, in time to the music. Such a great song!

    Horrible

    Kevin Nash

Middle Man Bastard, i'm ready to fight you

So you say "we're going nowhere"..with the fear of wasting youth. Through the different times, and with different eyes, I see it every, change in you. And now we've reached the point of knowing,; that in love, we're never sure. Still I'm holding on tight to memories, and there you go walkin' out the door. And the shadows you leave behind you.. are like the rain that's pouring down.. and your halo was left in town.. and still the rain comes crashing down. And the sadness you leave behind you, like shadows across the ground... when there's noone left around.. I'll be the rain that's crashin', rain that's crashin' down.. And the shadows you leave behind you, are like the rain... that's fallin' down. And your halo was left in in town, still the rain comes crashing down. And the sadness you leave behind you, like shadows across the ground.. when there's noone left around, I'll be the rain that's crashin' , rain that's crashin' down..Rain comes crashin' down, rain comes crashin' down, rain comes crashin' down..rain comes crashin' down, rain comes crashin' down , rain comes crashin' down, rain comes crashin' down.. the rain.. the rain ... the rain..

simply timeless....transcends throughout the decades and remains fresh, harmonious and electrifying... Night Ranger....what an amazing supergroup...it's almost spiritual the way the arrangement of this music sounds...I have loved this band since day one of DAWN PATROL.

Boy I tell you I couldn't imagine growing up without Night Ranger

  18. Kyle Kirchhevel

Big Life is my favorite Night Ranger album and this is the 800-pound gorilla that lurks in the corner and knocks you the f*ck out

  19. Ed Bidleman

you set out to find a cure

  20. Mat Setizar

I remember playing this in my school dorm back when it came out hoping my mates would like it. They didn't. May the rain crash on them.

    Melvin Nance

As far as I know, I am the only one I knew who had even heard most of that album. I couldn't imagine my life without all of those songs in it.

  21. BBKlima

Does anyone know of a live version of this song? I know I saw them in the summer of 87 on the Big Life tour and they did it live, but I can't seem to locate a recorded live version.

One of my favorite songs by my favorite band!

And the shadows you leave behind you
Are like the rain that's falling down
And your halo was left in town
And still the rain comes crashing down

    Jack is a pure poet!

    Joe A.

Yes he is. I can't believe there are not more Night Ranger fans out there!!!

    BBKlima

Agree 100%. Everyone I've ever got to listen to Night Ranger has been impressed. Sad how people let the mainstream music press decide who is worthy or not.

  23. Joe A.

    Love this song!!

  24. Oggie221

I can only hope that in the far far future when we have managed to destroy ourselves and the planet that some visiting species that can hear along the same spectrums we can will visit and hear Night Ranger as well as several other awesome bands.

    BBKlima

I'd settle for just hearing this song next time I see them live!

  25. Jus' Nuts

Oh, how the years have gone by!  Seems like yesterday when I first heard this.  Just as refreshing now as the first time.  But I know that it's been at least 30 years ago.  Still, the memories!

  26. simon james Bedford

    Love every Nightranger track

    BBKlima

Me too! The new album Don't Let Up came out and all 11 songs are awesome.

    Best. Band. Ever.

  27. Chris S

who is the f#cktard who gave this a thumbs down?

    Sam Thompson

I had exactly the same thought: "Someone had the temerity to downvote THIS!!??" You can't fix stupid. Bloody love this song, not a big Night Ranger fan by any means but this track has a certain beauty, both musically and lyrically.

    Jet Lawless

Not me but willing to kick their teeth in
