Nicole Dollanganger - Cries Of The Elephant Man Bones Lyrics

When you died, I heard the cries in the night
Of your soul leaving the deformed flesh that shamed your mind
All of those years your bones wept
But now there is no skin left
The worms have eaten it, you’re free to go

And I will take your bones
And with them build a home, home

Burdened at birth inside of a face no mother could love
She let them shame you like animal
They broke your limbs and beat in
Your swollen head 'til your neck
Shattered to pieces they put in the ground

And I will take your bones
And with them build a home, home

Gooble gobble gooble gobble
We accept you, we accept you, one of us
Gooble gobble gooble gobble
We accept you, we accept you, one of us
Gooble gobble gooble gobble
We accept you, we accept you, one of us

I hear your soft bones crying
I hear your soft bones crying
I hear your soft bones crying in the night

I am not an elephant!
I am not an animal!
I am a human being!
I am a...

Someone tell me the meaning of this song please 😫

    Q.... G....

There’s a movie about a real life guy born with a severe deformity who was enslaved as a circus freak because he couldn’t get another job, called The Elephant Man

    Q.... G....

The "gooble gobble" portion of the song is actually a quote from a particular scene in the movie called Freaks. The circus freaks in the film would dance and sing the song to those who they've accepted into their fold, despite their deformities and their handicaps. Nicole intentionally sings this song and uses this scene as a symbol for how the "Elephant Man" has finally gained the acceptance he deserves.
    *cue tears*

    I don’t understand the noises at the end ;-;-;-;;;

    F.... ....

It says; "I am not an elephant, I am not an animal, I am a human being."
In the movie from 1980 called, well, The Elephant Man, there's a scene where The Elephant Man yells that to a crowd of snobby people after being chased.

    F.... ....

I'd like to add that the "gooble gobble" song is a sign of acceptance the circus freaks sing when they've accepted a new "freak" into their fold in the movie Freaks.

its quite sad that in reality his skull was actually quite deformed as well, clumps and masses of bones on his jaw and the side of his face? not even in death could he really escape the deformity of his body,, what a sad song

His bones aren't even buried, the rest of him was but his bones have been kept for research to this day
