Nicks, Stevie - Imperial Hotel Lyrics
He says to her... why do you do it
She says to him... why do you stay
Then they say unspoken words to explain it
He says, baby, I hate to see you this way
I hate to see you
Well, you can get her
But you can't keep her
And you can't catch her fall
She will call you
When she needs you
You know where she lives
The Imperial
She sits across the table... the same glass table
He says, wo baby, baby, baby, baby
This is the path you have chosen
She probably goes under another name
Well, that's a good idea
So, you can get her
But you can't keep her
And you can't catch her fall
Well, she will call you
When she needs you
You know where she lives
The Imperial Hotel
Who's there
Where has she gone
But, I think she just went home
Sits across the table... same glass table
And she cries to her friend... why am I so alone
He says, wo, wo, baby... oh, my baby
You have to know... you have to know
She knows in her heart
That he will stand by her
Anywhere... don't cry, baby
I can save you
Don't cry baby, I can save you
She's at the Imperial Hotel
Don't cry baby, I can save you

Nicks, Stevie Imperial Hotel Comments
Rock a Little is so fricking underrated and has every mood and genre of music from Stevie. I can hear a little Tom Petty AOR vibe on this
Rock a little is my fave 🤘♥️
Too Short!😭😂
Damn I love women
The 14 people who disliked must not have gone to the imperial hotel
Those guys did a pretty good job of sounding like The Heartbreakers. One of my favorite SN songs and the best on this album, imo.
This is one of my favorite Stevie Nicks songs. But just now as I was listening to it, it occurred to me, the song is about a prostitute.
Another interpretation might be that it is about Stevie and the life she chose as a "rock star" which keeps her on the road and in hotels. Gramma says "This is the path you have chosen". Stevie has talked about the loneliness of her life and that she chose to give up marriage and children for it. "Don't cry baby, trying to save you" is tough love from her friends and family, meaning get your head straight about your purpose or this life will kill you. Anyhow, FWIW.
Excellent album one of favorites
Good song. Happy Birthday Stevie Nicks(May 26th 2017). Cheers!
This song actually got some air play on a AOR station here in DC back in the day. The station was called DC/101 ... they not only played an artist's singles, they would play deep cuts as well, and this was one of them. Love this song. RAL is actually my favorite Stevie album. It's just so full of life and energy.
Remember the ' Mighty Z Rock ' out of Texas ?
