When my daughter graduated from High School in 2004, I remember writing some of the lyrics from this song into her Graduation card. The last few months she had been having some mental difficulties. Little did we know she was slowly being swallowed up by schizophrenia. College was cancelled and she spent the next year mostly in bed, sleeping. Eventually she was diagnosed and she's on the right meds now, and she's a beautiful person, in a relatively happy place. But she had wanted to be a doctor. Instead she helps to stuff envelopes at a charity organization she works for. It makes me sad that all her dreams were stripped away, but happy that we still have her. She still "crashes" every once in awhile, and I try to catch her when she falls. Love you sweetie!

I wasnt ready, they werent ready, and I didnt know that the hate that they had been fed was sinking into their soles and teaching them that their childhoods were lacking in anyway whatsoever. I hope they gain enough experience in life to appreciate the love and care that only I had for them. I would have thrown myself in front of a bus to give them every chance at life my parents gave me regardless of my means to provide it. Sad that a constant barade of negative words and comments in such a childish and thoughtless nature could warp the brains of the 3 girls I had dedicated my entire existance to. I always believed they were more perceptive than that, but they were only children. Easy targets for the wicked to penetrate with promises of a life free from restrictions. Do they still not realize that I just wanted to protect them?

No. Absolute nobody is listening to them. Not a single person, including me. I just commented instead of watching and listening to the video.

...sorry. I listen to this band because it reminds me that there is truly beautiful, authentic country music out there...it’s just mostly from the past. Well, this is more a fusion country/folk/bluegrass and even pop, but it all adds up to a country feeling IMO. This is what I listen to when I want that type of music, among some other older bands/artists like Townes Van Zandt. The popular country of the last 20 years offends my eardrums. I won’t subject them to the garbage that’s called country these days, but is really just like Top 40 pop but with a weak banjo, maybe a steel guitar, and of course HEAVY southern accents.

The prodical son. It means so much to be able to say this when they go thru triumphs. .but when its heartbreak and and Im at a loss of words and so far away. This is their lullyby. Music.
