I've always listened to this song and thought about my own death. I've just received the news about Nick's son. So terribly awful. I'm at a complete loss of words. My thoughts are prayers are with him and his family.

Along with Tom Waits and mr.Cohen Nick Cave is the greatest living poet!

Love them too, but not as good as Waits, Cohen and Cave.

I think they are just as good but when I want a good dose of darkness or if I want an almost cinematic experience I turn to these 3. Depends my mood.

I tend to agree, especially cave and cohen have been a major influence on me..I love tom waits as well but have not listened enough..only had 3 albums....btw I also love tindersticks although more for the atmosphere than the lyrics...Cohen remains the master poet though with mr Cave following up very closely in my taste, have seen cohens last concert in holland few years ago and nicks last performamce in Amsterdam was suberb!!! I will love their music till I die...

It's a shame Cohen has passed away. Either way, those were definitely Top 3 lyricists in music for me.
