I will always love this musical have you ever seen it in person because I have twice at Village Theatre I saw it on January 5th 2018 and I saw it again in February 3rd and Joey Barreiro reprised his role as Jack an do got to meet him and he was super nice and in December I'm going to see a local High School production of Newsies and in August 2020 Village Theatre is doing Newsies again and I'm going to see it again so that's a total of 4 times for me I'm so pumped and my dream is to do Newsies as our High School Musical for my Senior Year next year because Jack Kelly is my dream role and Newsies is my dream musical and have you ever been in the show and please reply

Idk how to start this off so I'll get to the point. My school has 3 choirs, honors choir, a chior thats all girls, then theres my group musical theater chorus or MTC. Any way for some reason MTC has the reputation of being the lesser or the 3 but anyway i want to get my class to sing this partly because i love newsies but also to show the school and the other choirs that were just as good as them.

This is my first time litsening to this and it gives me such a powerful energy cuz Pulitzer was the role my ex had when I dumped him

The only problem I have with this, is the fact that no one sounds furious. Think about it: The Newsies are taking action, and the words of the song fit, but the energy doesn't. If you ask me, the filmed version is better. Not the movie, but the live filmed one.

I watched this on my phone before school then later in the middle of Math class something turned my phone on and it started playing FULL VOLUME. It scared the living crap out of everybody.

This song is so incredibly moving and powerful. Jack’s voice when he responds with “Pulitzer may crack the whip but he won’t whip us” is heartbreaking.

When I hear this song I think of my school. Especially when Jack says "when the circulation bell starts ringing" it reminds me of how we are just expected to walk straight from class to class when the bell rings every day with no breaks. I might on the last day of 8th grade make a dance and we'll all burst out in song. The world will know about us and what's happening to kids in public schools!

(I'm sure most of the fandom noticed this already, but who cares,I just wanted to note how genius these lyrics are)
So the line: "And the world will know. And the journal too" has 2 very clever meanings. The first one is obvious: The world and the paper will know. But, fun fact: The World was the paper owned by Pulitzer, and the Journal was owned by Hearst. So it also means that both the papers will know.

So like this song can also connect to people segregated and discriminated against for other reasons (ex: homophobia, sexism, racism)

I join stage productions my school puts on, not because I actually like them but because I just like theatre. This year, they are doing newsies. For the first time ever im gonna be in a musical I've actually loved before even trying out for it.
